after having nina steal his first few kisses and lucy straddle his lap at the ugly sweater party, julian is happy to be back in class and undetected by everyone once more. although he bore witness to how insane people were likely to get when drinking alcohol, kessler won't even try to deny his attraction to nina. she was exotic, older than him and clearly far more capable than he when it came to body shots. he got the sense that duchamp just saw him as a plaything, but he didn't mind all that. the fact that she kissed him at all surprised him. noting that he's thinking about her way too much, julian immerses himself in his last period class, eyes constantly darting between the clock and his sheet of loose leaf. although he was certain that he now flew under everyone's radar once again, he wanted to avoid a confrontation with colette, emalie and amelia. he knew the three were most likely to tease him about the party's events and he honestly wasn't here for that.<p>

as soon as class comes to an end, julian jets out of the building, flying past students, teachers and open lockers until he's greeted by both the chill winter breeze and the feminine form of one nina duchamp. he hadn't meant to bump into her or anyone else for that matter, but sometimes the last person we want to see are the first people we run into headfirst. thankfully kessler retains enough athletic ability to simultaneously crash into nina outside of the school and bring his arms around her waist before she can be sent crashing to the ground. breath a little ragged from running and the shock of running into duchamp herself, julian forces a smile as he releases her and takes an awkward step back.
