The Rosenheim

The Ancient Fortress of the Rosenkratz family dates back centuries. Built and rebuilt over a period of the last 1500
the current Rosenheim is the latest in a long line of castles, this one a mere 400 years old. Painstakingly made by several
million red bricks, the castle is an imposing fortress on the banks of the River Aver. Amongst it's towers, the fortress
includes stables and barracks, a major chapel dedicated to Sigmar Heldenhammer and a minor shrine dedicated to Altaver,
the god of the River Aver (In times when Averlanders were still Brigundians, the ancestors of the Rosenkratz worshipped
the god of the River Aver, and it is family legend that Altaver's blessings keep the Rosenheim from slipping into the
river), an outer wall, an inner wall, living facilities for servants and guards and the keep (which is surrounded by
it's own wall).

It is a rather large castle, maintained by only the barest amount of servants and workers, who incidentally only patrol
the Rosenheim twice a month to ensure that in times of need, the fortress is capable of serving the needs of the
Rosenkratz family.

The current fortress, unfortunately, has never had a true test and had to withstand a drawn out siege. In 2253, the
Rosenheim had to face marauding orcs and passed with flying colors, but the greenskins did not have the capability to
provide a proper test. In 2408, the closest was when the Rosenkratz had a range war with another large landowner in the
area, which ended with a Rosenkratz victory and an increase of their holdings by almost a third.
