- Hello HN Members,
- I've been with a startup for 3 years. I was the first engineer to join the company and I've been in same role ever since. The company has grown from a bunch of guys to a BIG team now. No equity but the salary is decent. Many people who've joined after me have a better role/title. I know, I've worked quite hard and deserve a better role (probably a hike and some equity too). The reason I'm saying this is, there's no motivation of any kind for me to do a better job. I've some monetary issues to take care of, so quitting the job isn't an option right now. It's a vicious circle that I can't escape. Due to this, I've become numb lately and nothing cheers me up. I get depressed on small issues and I'm not keeping well too. Not sure what to do :(
