  1. >You stand on the side of mountain deep within the Crystal Empire’s borders.
  2. >The harsh northern winds whips past your body, as you stand in waiting.
  3. >Your scouts have reported sights of a supply convoy entering and exiting the city.
  4. >Not surprising.
  5. >The Crystal Empire has been besieged for half a year now.
  6. >Supplies are most certainly running out by now.
  7. >And it’s only a matter of time before the barrier that Shinning and Cadence put up fades away.
  8. >You hope that they would have surrendered by now.
  9. >But they would proudly declare civil war than be under your “tyrannical” rule.
  10. >You snort at the mere mention of the word.
  11. >Once again, others are causing trouble because of things they don’t understand.
  12. >Your eyes stare down the mountain side.
  13. >A desperation move to send the convoy through such a path.
  14. >Flanked by two mountains, it was easy to conceal.
  15. >It also made it impossible to escape if the convoy is ever trapped.
  16. >Your attention is bought back to reality when you hear the sounds of crunching snow behind you.
  17. >You turn your head slightly to the source the noise.
  18. >A solider, clad in white armor, stops and salutes you.
  19. >”My Queen, the convoy approaches.”
  20. >You nod your head, and turn it back around.
  21. “Good, return to your post.”
  22. >You hear him move swiftly, and soon his hoofsteps could no longer be heard above the whirling winds.
  23. >You look up, scanning the other side of the mountain.
  24. >More soldiers hidden expertly among the snow laying in wait.
  25. >Today, you tell yourself.
  26. >Today they will surrender.
  27.
  28. >You spot the convoy entering the mountain range.
  29. >They are trying their hardest to rush through the never ending blizzard.
  30. >You can see six Earth ponies pulling the convoy.
  31. >And surrounding them is ten guards.
  32. >Some of which is diligently looking around the area.
  33. >While others is just staring ahead.
  34. >A critical mistake for you to exploit.
  35. >You wait for them to reach the halfway point.
  36. >Once they do, you rouse your body into action.
  37. >Breaking your invisibly spell.
  38. >You charge up a kinetic spell
  39. >A dark violet with a red hue forms around your horn.
  40. >When enough power is put into it, you cast it.
  41. >Shooting the orb towards the convoy.
  42. >The guards on the right turn their heads.
  43. >But it was too late for them to do anything.
  44. >The spell flies through the air, and under the convoy.
  45. >The spell suddenly expands.
  46. >Blow away ponies and debris everywhere.
  47. “ATTACK!”
  48. >Your soldiers emerge from their hiding places, and charge down the mountain slopes.
  49.
  50. >The sounds of your soldier’s war cries echoes off of the mountains, as they descend from their hiding places.
  51. >Mixing with the shout of orders from the few guards that managed to stand.
  52. >You spread your wings, and take flight.
  53. >Circling overhead as the battle.
  54. >A few of your soldiers tackles some of the disorientated guards, and pin them to the ground.
  55. >They have no hope of winning.
  56. >But honor and pride keeps them from surrendering.
  57. >You notice two guards trying to pick up an unarmed pony.
  58. >Must be the convoy master.
  59. >Deciding to make yourself know.
  60. >You glide down towards them.
  61. >Surrounding yourself in a magical bubble.
  62. >When the three of them noticed your approach.
  63. >The two guards raised their swords.
  64. >You calmly land on the ground in front of them.
  65. >Giving them little time to react.
  66. >The magical bubble explodes outward, blowing away the guards.
  67. >One of them loses his sword.
  68. >The convoy master stares at you.
  69. >The crystal pegasus shaking in the snow.
  70. >Your attention is not focus on her for right now.
  71. >You start to walk forward.
  72. >And as you draw near, she flinches.
  73. >Expect the worst to be done.
  74. “Stay.” You say to her, as you pass.
  75. >You hope she can follow a simple command.
  76. >You really don’t feel like proving her fears right today if she doesn’t.
  77.
  78. >The guard that still has his sword, stands on shaking hooves.
  79. >”Tyrant!” He shouts at you, while he raises his sword.
  80. “Am I now?” Your words are calm.
  81. “Did my brother and sister feed that lie to you?”
  82. >This seems to enrage him.
  83. >”LIE?!” ” You usurped the throne from Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, and the other bearers of Harmony are nowhere to be found, and you’ve had the Crystal Empire besieged for months!”
  84. >”And somehow that’s a lie to you?!”
  85. >”My little brother is starving because of you!”
  86. >Of course he doesn’t know.
  87. >Just like every other pony who is against you doesn’t know what actually happened.
  88. >Although he is right about the siege.
  89. >You stop half way from him.
  90. >Long enough for you to charge a quick beam spell if need be.
  91. “Blame Shining and Cadence for this pointless civil war then.”
  92. >This sets off his fuse.
  93. >The guard charge towards you.
  94. >A war cry erupts from his lungs.
  95. >Typical.
  96. >Your horn ignites.
  97. >Surrounding it with you magical aura.
  98.
  99. >You fire the spell, aiming at his chest.
  100. >The hit staggers him, but only slows him down.
  101. >The next hit gets him to grunt in pain, and drop to his knees.
  102. >You hold the next spell.
  103. >Your eyes watching him to see what he’ll do next.
  104. >”You won’t win.”
  105. >He struggles to stand.
  106. >Oh Celestia
  107. >”You will be defeated.”
  108. >Yep he’s doing the hero speech right now.
  109. >Anonymous used to joke about heroes wanting to stop you once he found out you were studying dark magic.
  110. >Why most those jokes be true?
  111. >He finally stands on all four hooves.
  112. >But his balance is barely there.
  113. >”And when you lose, we will all cheer, and chant for your head!”
  114. >You roll your eyes.
  115. “Whatever.”
  116. >You fire the spell once more.
  117. >The impact from the spell this time sends him flying.
  118. >He hits the ground with a thud.
  119. >Kicking up dust of snow.
  120.
  121. >The sounds of battle has started to dwindle.
  122. >You hear crunching snow behind you.
  123. >”All enemies have been incapacitated, my Queen.”
  124. “That’s good to hear.”
  125. >You turn your head towards the soldier.
  126. “Make sure the wounded get to Canterlot first.”
  127. >You point your hoof towards the shaking mare.
  128. “And take her to my tent.”
  129. >The soldier salutes before carrying out his instructions.
  130. >You turn your head to one remaining guard.
  131. >Who surprisingly didn’t run for it.
  132. >You start to walk to him.
  133. >As you approach, you hear him start to whimper.
  134. >“P-Please don’t hurt me.”
  135. >… Really Shining?
  136. >Must be scrapping under the barrel.
  137. “If I wanted to hurt you, I would’ve done so by now.”
  138. >You stop just before him.
  139. “No, I have something else in mind for you.”
  140. >You levitate him up from the snow.
  141. >His whimpers louder than before.
  142. >Seriously, where did Shining find him?
  143. “You are to rely a message.”
  144. “You’ll will tell Shining and Cadence that they will not be receiving supplies this month, and if they would just step out of their castle for ten minutes, then they will see that I’m open for peaceful negotiations.”
  145. >The guard rapidly nods his head.
  146. “Good.”
  147. >You drop him to the ground.
  148. >Before he could run however, you cast a shadow spell around him.
  149. >The shadow consumes his entire body, before it races to its destination.
  150. >So much faster than running, and a lot less stressful than a regular teleport spell.
  151.
  152. >You sit beside the Crystal Heart.
  153. >Your heart beats in your ears.
  154. >Muscles tense enough that they are starting to hurt.
  155. >Your eyes are borrowing a hole through the gates to the empire.
  156. >Please come back home.
  157. >We need you to come back home.
  158. >You’ve been saying that for months now.
  159. >And yet it never gets any easier.
  160. >No matter how many time you have sent them out to get supplies.
  161. >You hate this.
  162. >This war, this famine, the blockades.
  163. >But they aren’t the major source of your hatred right now.
  164. >No, Twilight holds the cake right now.
  165. >None of you understand why this is happing.
  166. >Or if the letters Auntie Celestia sent are true.
  167. >Well there isn’t much point in trying to deny it now.
  168. >Twilight is using dark magic.
  169. >Your scouts have confirmed detailed reports.
  170. >But there is so many unanswered questions.
  171. >Why is Twilight using dark magic?
  172. >Why was she the only one to walk out of Canterlot castle?
  173. >Where is your auntie and the others?
  174. >Why hasn’t she surrendered yet?
  175. >Can’t she see that this is killing us?
  176. >Why is she doing this?
  177.
  178. >”Cadence.”
  179. >You feel a pair of forelegs wrap around your body.
  180. >”Any tighter, and you just might hurt Flurry.”
  181. >Shinning has pulled you from the recesses of your mind.
  182. >”They’re going to be okay sweetie.”
  183. >He gently kiss the nape of your neck.
  184. >You released the breath that you’ve been hold in for who knows how long.
  185. “I hope so.” You say wearily.
  186. >You look down towards your daughter.
  187. >Flurry sleeps soundly in you forelegs.
  188. >She has gotten smaller since the blockades started.
  189. >It breaks your heart to see her so underfed.
  190. >It breaks your heart even more when you can’t feed her properly.
  191. “Shining we need to do something, anything, but sitting on our flanks waiting for a monthly hand out.”
  192. >He hugs you a little tighter.
  193. >”I know, but what do we do?”
  194. >”My sister has us boxed in without any way out.”
  195. >”Soldiers that would gladly fight against her can barely stand because of the lack of food they’ve been getting.”
  196. >”And we use most of our magic just to keep this barrier up.”
  197. >He sighs.
  198. >His breath warming the back of your ear.
  199. >”If only we won those early fights when we had the element of surprise.”
  200. “If only Twilight never used corrupt magics, then this war would’ve never happened.”
  201.
  202. >He squeezes you once before letting you go.
  203. “You still deny it don’t you?”
  204. >”That can’t be her Cadence.”
  205. >”It has to be something else.”
  206. “Like what Shining?” You say with a little irritation.
  207. >”I don’t know?!”
  208. >”Maybe there was a curse on one of the tomes she read.”
  209. >”Or some of Sombra’s spirit is possessing her.”
  210. “Shining, we have been over this!”
  211. “There is nothing controlling her!”
  212. >”How do you?!”
  213. >”Were you over her shoulder, watching every little thing she read?!”
  214. >It’s the same old argument.
  215. >An argument that you used to believe in.
  216. >But as time goes on, and with the lack of answers.
  217. >The two of you only have theories.
  218. >Conflicting theories.
  219. >You can no longer believe that some unseen hand is controlling Twilight’s actions.
  220. >Shining still does.
  221. “I may have not been over her shoulder, but neither were you.”
  222. >He looked like he was going to say something else.
  223. >But shouting coming from outside puts a halt to that.
  224. >If that wasn’t concerning enough, the shouting is getting louder
  225. >”What the hay is going on out there?”
  226.
  227. >”It’s going for the castle; Stop it!”
  228. >Well if that is incentive enough to defend yourselves.
  229. >You and Shining stand at the ready for whatever is to come.
  230. >Wait, could it be Twilight?
  231. >But how did she get through the barrier?
  232. >Or has she been able to bypass it this whole time?
  233. >With your mind filled with even more questions, you almost missed it.
  234. >Something slips from under the gate.
  235. >The guards station near the gates begin to give chase.
  236. >Causing some of the wayward ponies to quickly move out of the way.
  237. >The loud shouts wakes Flurry from her slumber.
  238. >Upset that her nap was irrupted, she adds her cries to the commotion.
  239. >The circle stops just before reaching Crystal Heart.
  240. >Your guards surround the circle, spears, swords, and magic at the ready.
  241. >In a poor attempt to calm Flurry down, you press her against your chest.
  242. >For several tense moments nothing happens.
  243. >Until the circle starts to squirm on the ground.
  244. >Suddenly it “spits” out something before disappearing.
  245. >And that something is a very recognizable crystal pony.
  246. >Your entire body freezes over.
  247. >Twilight has discovered the convoy.
  248. >And there is nothing left to hang onto.
  249.
  250. >If Flurry wasn’t crying, then only dire silence would have been heard through the city.
  251. >Unfortunately a foals cries makes things that much worse in this situation.
  252. >The guard spread themselves out.
  253. >All of them have a look of disbelief.
  254. >”Now what do we do?” Shining says.
  255. >His voice filled with despair.
  256. “I don’t know.”
  257. >You take of what’s left of your mind.
  258. >And gently rock Flurry against your chest.
  259. >It has some effect in calming her down.
  260. >But there is still the occasional whine, followed by a sniffle.
  261. >This is it isn’t it?
  262. >There is nowhere to run to.
  263. >Your soldiers can’t possibly fight against Twilight.
  264. >There is barely any food left in the capitol.
  265. >And there is no way to get any assistance even if you asked for it.
  266. >You fill your body starting to shudder.
  267. >And for once you don’t care to hide your feeling.
  268. >Tears begin to run down your face.
  269. >And you manage to cry louder than Flurry.
  270. >It isn’t long before you feel Shining forelegs around you, trying to calm you.
  271. >But it isn’t going to work this time.
  272. >And soon, you all will be joining all of the heroes of Equestria in the grave.
  273.
  274. >Not long after you started to cry.
  275. >The guard from the convoy awakes
  276. >He takes his first gasp of air, before he starts violently cough.
  277. >Well at least there is that silver lining.
  278. >The ponies around him help him up on his hooves.
  279. >He takes his time to survey his surroundings.
  280. >He stops when his eyes lands on you and Shining.
  281. >Trying his best to stifle his cough, he tries to speak.
  282. >”My Princess *cough* and Prince, I *painfully clears his throat* have some news for the both of you.”
  283. >”That’s all right soldier, you did your best.” Shining says.
  284. >”Yes, we did fail to protect the convoy, but there is more.”
  285. >More?
  286. >How could there possibly be more?
  287. >”Twilight would like to open up peaceful negotiations, mostly likely for terms of surrender.”
  288. >Peaceful?
  289. >Peaceful???
  290. “Does this look even remotely peaceful to you?!”
  291. >You throw your uncontrolled emotions at the poor pony.
  292. “Did someone change the definition of peaceful recently?!”
  293. “Because besieging a city until it runs out of supplies, taking prisoners of war, and having this war drag out as long as possible doesn’t sound peaceful to me!”
  294. >”Cadence.”
  295.
  296. >You turn your head towards Shining.
  297. >Even in the utter hopeless situation that you all are in.
  298. >He tries to stand proud.
  299. >Despite the weariness he’s trying to hide.
  300. >”Peaceful, or not… We have no choice.”
  301. >You should be staring at him in disbelief.
  302. >Or trying to argue that there has to be another way.
  303. >Not giving up everything you both worked so hard for to protect.
  304. >Just so that it can go into the hooves of another tyrant.
  305. >But you can’t muster up the energy to keep going.
  306. “And what happens to us?”
  307. >Every one falls silent.
  308. >Shinning sigh, as he shifts uncomfortably.
  309. >”We hope my little is still in there.”
  310. >You…
  311. “Okay Shining.”
  312. >You look down at Flurry.
  313. >She settled back into her slumber once the commotion died down.
  314. >If Twilight still is in there.
  315. >Then at least she’ll spare her niece.
  316. >You dread the thought, but there is some twist hope to it.
  317. >Sighing, you look up at your husband.
  318. “Do what you will.”
  319. “I’m going to put Flurry to bed.”
  320. >You can tell he wanted to say something.
  321. >But he lets you go with a nod.
  322.
  323. >The winds howl fiercely outside of your tent.
  324. >Tapping a hoof against the wooden table, you stare at the map of Equestria.
  325. >Red circles are drawn across the map.
  326. >Each circle indicates recent, or known rebel activity.
  327. >Most of the circles are drawn around small, or out of the way towns like Appleloosa.
  328. >But it would be foolish to think they weren’t getting help from the major cities.
  329. >At least the caravan master reviled trade routes for the rebels in exchange for her life.
  330. >Not like you were going to take it away, but whatever.
  331. >Your tent flap opens.
  332. >”My Queen, news from the front lines.”
  333. >Wordlessly, you turn around to face the soldier.
  334. >”The barrier around the Crystal has fallen, and their soldiers are waving what flags from the wall.” He says, as he salutes.
  335. >They’re surrendering!
  336. >Yes, finally this silly war and misunderstanding can end.
  337. “Good, has any messengers arrived yet?”
  338. >”None at the moment, your Highness.”
  339. “Hmm, well it’ll only be a matter of time.”
  340. “Thank you.” You say, as you dismiss him with a nod.
  341. >He salutes, and exits the tent.
  342. >You return your attention to the map.
  343. >Now all you have to do is wait.
  344. >The wait is short, as an envoy is escorted to your tent.
  345. >The Crystal stallion gives you a scroll.
  346. >Shuddering, and flinching when you take it.
  347. >It takes all of your willpower to stop from rolling your eyes.
  348. >Opening the scroll, you read the official surrender of the Crystal Empire.
  349. >Strangely the only signature at the bottom of the scroll is Shining’s.
  350. >There could be multiple reasons for this.
  351. >Most of which aren’t good.
  352.
  353. >You were going to walk through the plaza without an escort.
  354. >Make you seem less of an invader than ponies already think you are.
  355. >But your guards argued against it.
  356. >Said that it was for protection.
  357. >You scuff, and ask do you really need protecting.
  358. >They countered by saying that you’re going in to previously enemy territory.
  359. >They want to make sure nothing happens.
  360. >Either to you, or those that wish to harm you.
  361. >Instead of wasting time arguing with them.
  362. >You decide to bring a few of them along.
  363. >Once everything is settled, you gather your troops, and the messenger, and teleport in front of the Crystal Empire’s gates.
  364. >You startled the guards at the gate, but they recover quickly, and shout for the gates to be opened.
  365. >They stare intently at you, as the gates open.
  366. >You ignore them, and once the gates are fully open, you calmly walk past them.
  367. >The streets are mostly deserted.
  368. >The few Crystal ponies that are lingering on the street spot you, and either run away in fear, or stare angrily at you.
  369. >”Prince Shining Armor awaits you at the front of the castle, I trust you know where it is.” The messenger says, trembling, before bolting to Celestia knows where.
  370.
  371. >You walk through the abandon main street.
  372. >The occasional glance from the ponies from behind their windows.
  373. >You ignore them closing their blinds.
  374. >The castle comes shortly into view.
  375. >And true to the messenger’s words, Shining is standing before it, with several guards standing behind him.
  376. >If the situation was different, you would be rushing towards him, and give him a hug.
  377. >You stop before them, and is surprised to see them bow before you.
  378. >”Princess Twilight.” He raises his head before continuing.
  379. >”It pleases me that you would be willing to negotiations terms of surrender.”
  380. >Why would he think you won’t want to negotiate terms?
  381. >Your brother couldn’t have seriously thought you were going to kill him did he?
  382. “This unfortunate war has been going on long enough, and I would rather end it all without any more bloodshed.”
  383. >You see a slight change in his posture
  384. >”That is good to hear” He forces a smile.
  385. >”Then shall we.”
  386. >Shining and his guards take point, and you follow suit.
  387. >Once you all are inside, the sounds of clops echoes through the crystal halls.
  388. >No one spoke the whole way through.
  389. >Shining leads you all into the throne room.
  390. >And Cadence still isn’t present.
  391. >Great, that means that there was a halfhearted agreement on what they should do with their surrender.
  392. >This is going to be a problem later.
  393. >”You’ll have to excuse Cadence, she’s-“
  394. “It’s fine Shining.” You cut him off.
  395. >You really don’t want to hear whatever excuse she made to avoid you.
  396. >Shining clears his throat.
  397. >”O-okay, um.”
  398. >”What are your terms sister?”
  399.
  400. >He turns around to face you.
  401. >Loud groaning comes from the doors, as they close.
  402. “The terms are simple.”
  403. “This silly civil war ends today, and the Crystal Empire returns to the fold under my wing.”
  404. “It will stay that way, until this whole mess is sorted out, and I step down, and the rulership returns to the other Princesses.”
  405. “Other than that, nothing else.”
  406. “You and Cadence will continue to govern the Crystal Empire.”
  407. “Of course I’ll have eyes and ears around to keep me informed about current events.”
  408. “And that’s it.”
  409. >Shining stares at you blankly.
  410. >”No imprisonment?”
  411. >Really Shining?!
  412. >You snort angrily.
  413. >”Right, gift horse and all that.” Even though he speaks calmly, you can see him tense up, as if he’s readying himself just in case of an attack.
  414. >”Okay, I accept these terms.”
  415. “Good.”
  416. >You summon up a scroll, a quill, and an ink pot.
  417. >You float them over to Shining.
  418. >He takes them in his magic.
  419. >He unrolls the scroll, and takes a minute to read over it.
  420. >Once he’s done, he dips the quill into the ink pot, and signs the bottom of the scroll.
  421. >He gives all the items back to you.
  422. >You teleport them back to your camp.
  423.
  424. >Shining looks at his guard.
  425. >”Okay guys, we’re done here, you can return to your posts.”
  426. >There is an audible protest from his guards.
  427. >”Guys.” His voice quells their outcry.
  428. >”It’s over, there is no reason to keep being hostile to each other.”
  429. >”And I want to speak to my sister personally.” He stares directly at you, as he says this.
  430. >The guards relent, and start to move themselves out of the throne room.
  431. “You all may return as well, and start packing up the camp.” You address your guards without turning to face them.
  432. >”Yes, my Queen.” You hear them speak in unison, before they too leave the room.
  433. >Now that you and Shining are alone, you can finally do this.
  434. >You teleport close to him, and hug him.
  435. >Probably pressing your armor uncomfortably hard into his chest.
  436. “I missed you BBBFF.”
  437. >A stunned Shining takes a moment, before he wraps his forelegs around you.
  438. >”Missed you too, lil sis.”
  439. >You relish the hug.
  440. >You finally have something to show that you aren’t looking to have Equestria under your hoof.
  441. >And sure it could’ve been handled better, but it’s the results that matter in hindsight.
  442. >You wanted to hug him forever, but Shining has other ideas, and pulls away from you.
  443. >His looks at you with conflicted eyes.
  444. >Please don’t do it.
  445. >”Twilight… Is it really you I just hugged, or something else.
  446. >You are shocked with disbelieve.
  447. >Your own brother doesn’t even think you’re the same pony anymore.
  448. >Your parents barely talk to you despite living less than 100ft away from them.
  449. >And now your brother thinks you are some kind of wolf in sheep’s clothing.
  450. >That moment of disbelieve passes, and is replaced with anger.
  451. “Why doesn’t anyone trust me!”
  452.
  453. >Your sudden outburst causes Shinning to flinch.
  454. >”It’s not that I don’t trust, but.” His voice trails off.
  455. “But what Shining?”
  456. >“What am I supposed to think with all the stuff happening around you, and the changes you’re going through?”
  457. >”You walk out of the Princesses castle, and self-proclaim yourself the ruler of Equestria, no matter how temporary you make it seem.”
  458. >”There has been no word from your friends, or the Princesses for months.”
  459. >”You obviously using dark magic.”
  460. >”You have ponies call you Queen.”
  461. >”And your coat has never been that dark before, nor has your irises ever had a red tint to them.
  462. >”You don’t give me a lot of options to not think that you aren’t possessed by something that is just masquerading as my sister.”
  463. >Once again you have to explain yourself to a pony that already thinks the worst case happened.
  464. “First off, I don’t force anypony to call me Queen.”
  465. “That was something that Anonymous started doing behind closed doors.”
  466. “He started to call me that in public, and some of the ponies around me started to copy him.”
  467. “There is no point in stopping them from doing so, because it changes mothing, and I still have ponies calling me Princess.”
  468. “Second, yes, I am using dark magics, but unlike every irrational fear that everypony seems to have about me doing so.
  469. “I do not, torture ponies with it, steal their souls, trap them in waking nightmares, brain wash them into servitude, and other things that I know I could do, but don’t”
  470. “Third, yes the use of dark magic affected my coat and eyes, but you can assure yourself that it is temporary.”
  471. “Fourth, I made myself ruler of Equestria, because without a leader of some kind, then Equestria would be rampant with chaos, and it wouldn’t have made me look any better if I just left the castle anyways.”
  472. “Fifth, and this is important, none of them are dead.”
  473. “They are all sleeping in stasis, in their own meticulously customized rooms, protected by wards that prevent anything, including myself, from harming them.”
  474. “And they will stay that way, until I can explain to them, just like I’m explaining to you, that I am still the same pony that they know and love, and nothing has changed about me.”
  475. “Lastly, I’m not possessed by any malevolent force of darkness.”
  476.
  477. >You take a moment to catch your breath.
  478. >Staring at your brother’s conflicted face.
  479. >The same face that they always made when they wanted to trust your words.
  480. >But couldn’t bring themselves to overcome their doubts.
  481. >You shake your head while sighing.
  482. “Forget it Shining.” You say, as you turn away from him.
  483. “Tell Cadence I said hello.”
  484. >”Twi-.“
  485. >You don’t hear anything more, as you teleport yourself... Somewhere.
  486. >The cold northern wind greets you.
  487. >But it does nothing for the heat in your chest.
  488. >They’re going to turn against you.
  489. >You’re going to have to put down another Crystal rebellion.
  490. >Simply because no one is willing to believe you.
  491. >And they all think you become some type of monster.
  492. >The heat in your chest starts to swell, and your eyes start to burn, as wisps of darkness start to cloud them.
  493. >You horn starts to draw power from the darkness that resides within you, and with a scream, you release it all.
  494. >The magic explodes around you, displacing snow, and covering the area in darkness.
  495. >The heat leaves your body.
  496. >But so does everything else.
  497. >You’re left trembling, cold, and tired.
  498. >You know such reliance on dark magic has its drawbacks.
  499. >But you had no other way to keep yourself going with so little rest.
  500. >Months of fighting rebel activities, and the war kept you moving.
  501. >You slowly lower yourself to the ground, conjuring up a weak barrier to keep the snow from pilling on you.
  502. >But biggest energy consumer is done with.
  503. >You close your eyes.
  504. >You should tell Anon to give you a massage.
