You hear slithering in the distance. Slipping on your blindfold, you slowly advance forward. Not seeing anything through the blindfold, you make use of your Zen skills as a samurai, and attack Medusa using all your other senses. After a short fight, she drops down, dead. You pick up her corpse in order to sacrifice her to your god at an altar, to make them happy. You remove your blindfold, only to see a cockatrice in the distance. Knowing that they turn people to stone by touch, you start throwing various potions and daggers you have in your inventory. Sadly, you accidentally throw a potion of healing at it, getting it back up to full health. All nice and strong, it gets much closer than you would like. Worried, you break a wand you have in your inventory, releasing a huge firestorm that incinerates everything in the area... including you. The surge of fire burns all the scrolls and books you have in your inventory, also boiling one delicate potion. Though you've lost quite a bit of items, the cockatrice lies dead in front of you. Making sure to put on gloves before touching it, you throw the corpse into your backpack, to sacrifice it alongside Medusa. The combined weight of both corpses, plus the rest of your inventory makes it quite hard for you to move. Nonetheless, you edge forward slowly and surely towards an altar. Suddenly, BAM! A rock falls on your head from the ceiling, but you were wearing a hard helmet, so it bounces off. You're still confused by the sound, though, and start staggering side-to-side, falling straight into a trapdoor! You fall straight onto the cockatrice corpse and your skin starts feeling harder and harder. In panic, you pray to your god, hoping that he heals your condition. But no, he is displeased with you and ignores you. In one last attempt, you drink the last potion you have in your inventory, even though you don't know what it is. It's a potion of "gain level"! Your condition may be healed! But sadly, the potion was cursed, and you gain a different kind of level... you rise through the ceiling, coming to a stop right next to the altar. You quickly move to it in order to sacrifice the corpses, but it is too late. As soon as you get to the altar, you completely turn to stone, never to come back to life again.
