Miss Daylight’s Song for Spi-san

Kurasaki is playing on her piano. The song she is playing was melodic and adventurous. It had beautiful notes that resonated with Eien. Eien is staring at her with his heart racing and he could help but to feel red from it. Kurasaki was not just playing a song, but writing a theme for a story, a story of… adventure and freedom.

Her piano piece is delicately played and has strong emotional moments where it was quiet at one moment, but then poetically lead up to intense feelings as if it made Eien want to reflect. Yes, indeed. Eien wants to reflect on his life and everything he went through in that very moment, as the song was playing. He felt happy. And he feels like a bigger person from this. Kurasaki elegantly finishes off the song and the melody finishes. Eien is clapping and laughing.

Eien: “Daylight, you were amazing! What do you call that song!?”
Kurasaki: “This song is for you, Eien.”
Eien: “Really?”
Kurasaki: “Mmhmm. I call this song, ‘Freedom’. ♥”

Then Eien looks down and starts to space out, leaving an awkward silence to Kurasaki. She notices and wonders why he went so quiet suddenly. Eien starts to weep tears and brushes off his face. She went off the seat from the piano and place her hand around him.

Kurasaki: “What’s… wrong?”
Eien: “White Cosmos was the one who taught me that freedom meant everything in the Accel World! And now I’ve realized that she was a complete liar who doesn’t believe in anything else but to hurt others! I’ve admired her, and now I’m going to lose everything!”

Eien was crying over her shoulder. He was weeping tears of pain and regret. Because of his entire reality shattered.

Eien: “I’m… scared. Scared of White Cosmos. She’s one of the most powerful Burst Linkers and she could easily wipe me out from the Brain Burst world.”
Kurasaki: “Spi-san, you’ve changed me for saying what you believed in. Your words felt real to me. But now learning that you’re involved with White Cosmos’s tyranny… scares me too. I want to hold you as tight as I could and never let you go. Because I don’t want you to disappear.”
Eien: “Is my talk of freedom all empty? Just another false ideology passed down by someone evil?”
Kurasaki: “What does it mean to you, Spi-san?”
Eien: “Everything. Brain Burst was the reason why I could be free from my parents. Why I could experience a world where there are no mean adults. But it’s naïve to believe such a fantasy, that there would be a world without corruption. Because Brain Burst has people who are even worse than my parents! I can’t believe that Neon Needle has lured all of those people and victimized them! And now… it’s probably my turn to face the consequences of my actions.”
Kurasaki: “Freedom being an ever-changing thing has always makes me believe that we’re free to experience freedom. Not just freedom being something that changes for us, but the fact we have the ability to decide to change it.”
Eien: “What are you saying, Miss Daylight?”
Kurasaki: “What I am saying is… you have the ability to change your freedom. You aren’t always caged by selfish people. You can decide for yourself what you truly hope for. You are your own decisions and your freedom is more than just Brain Burst, but the heart of your will.”
Eien: “Miss Daylight… I can still be free despite the people I have to deal with?”
Kurasaki: “You’ve made your decision in meeting me.”
Eien: “You’re completely right! I’ve never realized that.”
Kurasaki: “But I feel afraid, Spi-san… that you’re going through all of this and the fact that there’s little I could do… I wish there was something I could do. To help you. I wish there was some way to reconcile this, or at least make you happier. To make you free.”

Eien strokes Kurasaki’s hair and looks at her in the eyes closer.

Eien: “Being with you makes me happy.”

Kurasaki gives a serene look on her face and a melancholic smile. And blushing. She was sad that Eien, or White Bomber, had to go through these chain of events. And all she could do is to be with him to make him happy. She was gazing into his eyes and thought about what she could do. And then she decides.

Kurasaki: “Spi-san, these are probably my last moments with you. But will you allow me to at least make you happier despite the fact that we only knew each other since yesterday?”
Eien: “!!? Despite the fact that we only knew each other since yesterday!? What are you saying? You want to be in a relationship with me?”
Kurasaki: “Come along with me, Spi-san~ I’ll show you something.”
