  1. Eva planned to find the gold and used a blonde wig + fancy dress to make Maria believe her to be Beatrice. However Rosa came to the island with the intent to kill. Armed with a bizarre contraption that allowed her to launch stakes at high speeds, she planned a series of murders that would look demonic and bizarre in nature, to discourage people's attempts to figure out the culprit during the killings. Most of her occult knowledge for the killings was gathered by feigning interest in Maria's hobby and gathering the information by reading her tomes and such. Cutting the phone lines gave the added bonus of plausible deniability for the amount of extra time she planned to spend on the island, locating the gold with no-one else in the way. After the letter revealed itself, her plan remained largely unchanged, she carried out the first twilight with a spear she kept hidden on her person and locked herself up in the guesthouse with the others. Meanwhile Eva, who had solved the riddle long before coming to the island, decided enough time had passed and went outside to grab the gold. By chance, Eva saw her head outside, and thinking she was the perfect first candidate for the second twilight (because EvaXHideyoshi is soooooo cute) decided to follow Eva into the rain and kill her.
  2.
  3. However she greatly underestimated Eva's martial arts skill, and was killed though impalement on the fence. Maria happened to wander out, and was strangled to death to eliminate any witnesses. Eva then panicked a bit, retrieved the spear, stake shooter and stakes from Rosa's body (wondering what they were for) and then went inside the guesthouse. Reading the epitaph shortly after, she realized what Rosa's plan was, and driven by greed and the suspicion others wanted the gold, decided to kill everyone.
