	Jackie's room looked like a bomb detonated in her closet. Shoes, clothes, jewelry you named it was all over the floor, some of these things Jackie even forgot she had if anyone is looking for the holy grail try under her pile of dirty socks.  Janna was staring at her un-amused through her laptop screen via Skype, Jackie had wanted to chat but it quickly turned into a scavenger hunt for an outfit for you see she was nervous about her date with Marco.

"I still can't believe Marco Diaz asked you out  and that you said yes, must be a sign the apocalypse is upon us" Janna complained as Jackie went through her clothes. "I bet there is some ancient circular stone tablet somewhere with a picture of your face and Marco's carved into it and both  have started to glow, once the other people depicted  on it come together then KABOOM! bye bye Earth"

Jackie just rolled her eyes and groaned, if she and Janna haven't been friends since 2nd grade she'd trade her in for a new friend in a heartbeat.

"You are just jealous because he asked ME out and  you" Jackie countered returning to her task.

Janna folded her arms across her chest and gave Jackie a look of contempt. "Whatever its not like I fantasized about him, besides I bet he's been fooling around with that Butterfly girl so much he probably smells like her insides."

Jackie looked like she was about to falcon punch her laptop screen. "Enough Janna, please? You are one of my best friends please be happy for me."

Janna gaze softened, she was right slight jealousy aside she should be happy for her. "Yeah sorry I guess, didn't mean to strike a nerve...for once".

Jackie returned to separating shirts she might wear to shirts we won't wear but was bothered but what Janna said. It's true for a while even Jackie thought Marco was dating Star it was hard not assume that, she's stalked him enough in the hallways at school to know they are always together. They seemed to have a genuine bond greater then most couples, it did make Jackie slightly sad and she almost gave up hope on him ever asking her out. Jackie quickly pushed those thoughts out of her head, the past is the past he sounded truthful and sincere when he asked her out, Jackie should have no reason to feel like second fiddle to Star Butterfly.

"Its ok Janna, apology accepted" Jackie paused for a second, while she did accept Janna's apology there's no reason why she couldn't mess with her in return...its what friends do after all.

"So anyways I believe you when you say that your not that into him as I thought and since it might be funny or help keep the conversation going if either one of us freezes is it ok if I show him your notebook? "

"You still haven't picked it up after you left it here by mistake..not the whole thing just the various pages where you drew him shirtless carrying you off into the sunset with the words "Janna Diaz" scribbled on it like how a serial killer sends his messages."

Jackie gave a cute little smile to Janna who's left eye began to twitch either in embarrassment or bloodcurdling rage... Yup most likely rage.

"You're bluffing" Janna finally said.

"Maybe, maybe not I just know I have a brother who works at Kinkos and I may or may not have hundreds of copies in case I need to blackmail you," Jackie said with a smirk.

"Point taken, for as long as I live I will not hint at  him dating Star while around you...well played Thomas"

"Well I  have known you for so long it was only a matter of time before some of your uhmmm...finer qualities have rubbed off on me," Jackie said proudly.


Jackie picked out a blue shirt, with some green colored jeans that matched her Converse sneakers, she turned to Janna and asked what she thought of her outfit.

"Jackie its Marco we are talking about here, he'll probably drool all over you if you wore a garbage bag, it's fine" was Janna's reply.

"Yeah, but I want everything to be perfect  and-"

"Its fine!" Janna repeated. "If you want to give him a boner just dress up like Star and uh" Janna's face went pale she only lasted a few minutes before breaking her promise.

"And what?" Asked Jackie impatiently tapping her foot.

"And point out how awful her sense of fashion is, that tasteless magical bitch," said Janna sweating like crazy. "Oh god please don't show him my artwork, I'm begging you" she stammered out while clasping her hands together in front of her chest so Jackie would take pity.

 Jackie burst out laughing. "Nice save Janna" she muttered between giggles.

Jackie set aside her outfit, she was ready for tomorrow. She said goodnight to Janna who still begging for her to not to show Marco her little secret. Jackie promised her she was only joking...for now, it was kinda cool seeing Janna get humble and be the one begging for mercy from someone else's pranks for once. Janna must really like Marco after all for her to freak out the way she did, but Jackie trusts her to not interfere and as for Star...no no no Jackie is seeing things that aren't there she is an exchange student to the Diaz family and nothing more. She is not some rebound, Marco likes her and she likes him and tomorrow night they will hopefully  be more than just minor acquaintances from now on.

Jackie might just be an ordinary Earth girl, but ordinary has a habit of becoming extraordinary.
