  2. Hi, I was just trying to play Alice: Madness Returns, which is shared by my family member Jasmine Iwanek (aka HellKat). It will not let me play because the game uses external EA authentication which of course won't work because the CD key has already been used (by Jasmine). I am contacting support mostly because it was said in the Steam Family Sharing user guide that any game that uses external authentication would NOT be listed as able to be shared. So listing this game as shareable seems to be in error.

  6. Hello Dylan,
  7.
  8. Thank you for contacting Steam Support.
  9.
  10. We apologize for the delay.
  11.
  12. Due to technical limitations, some Steam games may be unavailable for sharing. For example, titles that require an additional third-party key, account, or a subscription in order to play cannot be shared between accounts.
  13.
  14. Additionally, if you are VAC banned, you will be unable to share any VAC protected games.

  31. Right, I know that. I even pointed out that I know that in the question. Please take the time to *READ* my question before giving a canned response.
  32.
  33. My point is that the games that aren't available to be shared are not supposed to be *listed* when you're viewing someone's shared games, and in fact, other than Alice: Madness Returns, none of them are. So, I was trying to let you guys know that there's an issue with your system, so that you could fix it.
  34.
  35. The fact you assume that I didn't read the FAQ before deciding to enable family sharing, and just gave me a boilerplate answer, makes me not want to report any further issues I might have to Valve, because you're not actually listening or interested in fixing your platform.
