A Sonnet for Luna

>O Luna, so oft scorned by Ponykind,
>Who slept and cowered through thy precious night,
>How didst thou keep thy kindly state of mind,
>When for your care they gave thee naught but fright?
>But then at last thy anger did prevail,
>Thy visage chang'd, now blackened, beauty hewn,
>And Sister forced to cleave thy nightly veil,
>With Harmony to banish Nightmare Moon.
>Alack, one thousand years of you depriv'd,
>Thy name to one of whispered legend turned.
>Imagine my delight when thou arrived,
>On Summer Sun's rise, thy beauty returned.
>To have thee back, dear Luna, sorrow's gone,
>Forsooth, it warms the heart of this, Anon.
