History: The year was 4650 when a fox pup found its way in the camp of Molthuni soldiers. The Ramgate Irregulars, a mixed group of native soldiers and foreign mercenaries, took the fox in as a pet, feeding it treats, training it, even taking it into battles against the rebels they fought. A sort of mascot, they named it Di and changed their banner to a fox.

It was 4653 when a curious stranger appeared among the Irregulars' ranks. Curious, that is, to everyone but the Irregulars. They knew that she was the same Di that hung on their standard. Registered in the Molthuni army, she took a more active role, able to communicate scouting done while in her fox form, help plan tactics, and even revealing herself as a skilled negotiator and combatant.
In two years their efforts proved to have be for nothing. Nirmathas seceded from Molthune, and the Irregulars became dedicated defenders, protecting Fort Ramgate from attacks by Nirmathas. The slow grind wore at them, even while Di rose through their ranks, eventually gaining the rank of Colonel and command of the Irregulars in 4675.

Molthune is good at locating talent, but for almost thirty years Di avoided promotion, choosing instead to remain with the Irregulars, knowing that moving up in the ranks would mean moving away from her men. Eventually though, between visitors from Canorate and discussions with General Hakar of the Ramgate garrison, Di was convinced that the best way to help the Irregulars was to help Molthune as a whole.

She bade farewell to her soldiers, returning to the capital to accept her knighthood. In the dozen years since she's politicked and planned, engaging in the games of court, even joining the Lens Maker Society for their agreement with her personal philosophy. Now though she's accepted a new assignment, a position on the Molthuni frontier to build up with a group of companions.

Appearance: In fox form Di is a russet to black, with a stripe of silver across her back, as well as one on her underside. She often spends idle time as a fox, sleeping or resting, which often gives the illusion of laziness. Still, she's more than capable of stealth, her patterns of fur and small size providing her with a natural advantage.

In human form she stands almost halfway between five and six feet, and carries herself with a natural poise that lends her the semblance of more height, only aided by the Molthuni army uniform she typically wears. Her hair is silver, and most commonly swept over one eye, where it conceals a scar on the side of her face. A pair of glasses help with a very slight case of farsightedness, as well as serving to display Lens Maker markings to those who look for them.

Personality: Di is proud to a fault, retaining the dignity of the simple fox she once was. This results in a great appreciation for a chain of command, dictating how those above and below each other in hierarchy behave, and preserving the honor of all. That behavior extends to tradition, uniform, titles, and organizations, such as the Lens Maker Society, and she has little respect for those who refuse to acknowledge such things. Whether positive or negative she forms opinions on those around her very quickly, though she knows the benefit of working even with those she personally dislikes.
