- Hi Allan and Kris.
- A few weeks ago (not sure if it was on Techsnap or BSD Now) Allan made a comment about bootloaders along the lines of "A computer needs an operating system to do anything, but it needs to load the operating system from disk" and likened it to a man in a hole lifting himself out by his bootstraps.
- This has made me curious about how a bootloader works. Once the bootloader is loaded up, how does Grub/bsd loader etc load the kernel off the disk?
- And even more perplexing is how it works with ZFS where the kernel could be in 10 different pieces across the disk

- Sincerely,
- Andrew
