- Dragon Tail allows Slowking to act as the last line of defense between a sweep
- Psyshock takes care of conkeldurr and also special fairies.
- Shadow Ball damages psychic types as well as being one of the best coverage moves in game
- Ice beam removes Dragons and Landorus forms that decide to stay in.
- Set Details
- ========
- The EV spread maxamises Slowking's physical bulk and allows the Assault vest to raise his special bulk to incredible levels.
- Relaxed allows for better damage on Dragon tail
- Assault vest allows Slowking to serve as a fantastically solid mixed wall, with preference to the special side
- Regenerator gives Slowking recovery that the set doesn't have due to assault vest.
- Usage Tips
- ========
- With his Assault vest, Slowking can take any unboosted special hit and most physical hits, allowing him to switch into neutral hits with no issue and threaten the majority of the opponent's team.
- Slowking's main use is to become a fail safe to setup sweepers with dragon tail. He can phaze almost anything out after one boost.
- Slowking should only stay in for long periods of time on opponents sporting nothing super effective to hit him
- Slowking can soak statuses, given that regenerator causes toxic to take a long time before doing permanent damage.
- Slowking must switch for recovery. If opponents continuously pressure you out, it benefits you to switch
- With Regenerator and assault vest, you can reliably switch in and out of any hit without too much backlash
- Team Options
- ========
- Keeping a grass type will take care of two of slowking's weaknesses right away. Mega Venusaur covers Slowking perfectly.
- Having a dedicated Conkeldurr/Bisharp counter is a must. While Bisharp can't come in easy, both do heavy damage once in if unchecked.
- Ground pokemon that draw in ice/water attacks appreciate Slowking's resists and Slowking appreciates the electric immunity. Just have a grass resist somewhere.
- This set likes a wish passer to allow ease of switching into opponents that Slowking wants to stay in on.
