in cinema and literature, we often see the quiet, brooding man get the girl while the alpha, hulking, loud man is made to be a fool (or at least portrayed as such). i believe this to be due to the fact anyone who writes literature or screenplays are the quiet, beta type themselves and write in order to delude themselves into believing that women prefer this type of man. strong, loud men are almost never portrayed in a positive light unless written about by men who share these characteristics in their very rare cases (Hemingway).
