  2. Oh hi. I'm TheGreens. I do things. A little while ago, I was browsing the jp MG threads which you all know of so very well, when I came across a picture of a fanmade "American Indian" MG- which you can find here: http://imgur.com/szYWfuA
  3. A little while after seeing this image, I encountered an anon who found the picture amusing- in the same way you might find a kid with crippling down's syndrome attempting to play basketball amusing. He said the following on why he found it stupid:
  4. >Plains monstergirl/coyote
  5. >Dressed like a plains indian
  6. >Somehow supposed to be from Georgia
  7. >From the most educated tribe historically with the highest proportion of English speakers
  8. >Uses a written language invented by an English Indian to convey not speaking English
  9. ....
  10. >anyone growing up around old Indian Territory or who went to school with people from a bunch of tribes would know some history. >Hound is from that area too.
  11.
  12. Upon a little talk, I proposed anon create a few MGs that accurately reflected their origins- and he did! After a bit of talk- he, myself, and a couple of other anons came up with these girls:
  13.
  14.
  15. ---------------The Hachu (based off the Choctaw Indian, it's name derived from an anglecized noun for gator- "Hachunchuba")----
  16. Habitat: Prefer to live in aquatic lands such as the Bayou, but now live in more arid, prairie like lands
  17.
  18. Disposition: Open, calm, friendly, social
  19.
  20. Diet: Aquatic animals like fish or turtles, but also some land animals
  21.
  22. Encyclopedia entry:
  23.
  24. The Hachu is a weighty, if somewhat short reptilian, egg laying, exothermic monster commonly found in the south eastern parts of the United States, and, after their migration, the Midwestern united states. Most Hachu are surprisingly short, considering the stature of other tribes, at an average of 5.4 feet, but posses a great deal of muscle under a layer of fat and scales. Their most visible monstrous trait is probably their long, extremely muscular tails which are used for swimming, balance and fighting. The tails are so strong that a Hachu can easily balance themselves on it and propel itself completely out of the water with it. They also have the ability to breath underwater, have double-lidded eyes which allow them to see underwater and keep dirt out, webbed fingers, and extremely sharp teeth. The average Hachu is almost constantly sporting a dark-reddish tan, which helps with dark green scales to camouflage them while underwater. They are quick underwater but a bit sluggish on land. They are not clumsy or awkward, but they are visibly not built for land movement and a human could consistently outrun or outmaneuver a Hachu if there were ever a need to do so- out swimming one is another story.
  25.
  26. The Hachu, in their native setting of the Bayou or watered, swampy area, is a very successful trading species. It may seem ironic that such a well muscled, armored, and able species would shy away from combat, but the Hachu are not only hesitant to fight but flat out scorned for fighting unnecessarily- the Hachu are a calm species, happy to talk, study or sleep when not hunting. They build villages on the edge of the waterways that they use to hunt, and build roads to other settlements. However, the Hachu built road is quite rare; they are unnecessary because rivers serve as their roads, and spending time paving over the endless mud and vine would be both unnecessary and wasteful.
  27.
  28. Hachu homes are often a sort of hut, placed on the side and in the river. The part on land serves as a food hall or town gathering place or any other number of things (consistency is rare.) The part that hangs on the water contains a pool of water that is used as a sort of bath or lounge- during the winter it is cut off from the river and heated to form a sort of bath.
  29.
  30. The Hachu are more than content to marry within other cultures; there is no specific "Hachu nation" and you will find them wherever there is warmth and water; location, heritage or history is unimportant so long as the man they will marry is just. Because of this loose, open philosophy, Hachu lack specific marriage ceremonies, but they do hold their native Bayou in high esteem; no matter where a Hachu may move too, the Swamplands will always be it's point of comparison- always it's home. Sleep is an important part of Hachu culture- this may seem simple but keep in mind that Hachu spend upwards of 12 hours a day asleep so it becomes important through a literal necessity. With this comes an importance of sleeping with their husband-not only does this provide the philosophical comfort of being with who you love, and the actual, physical comfort of being with a heat source; while Hachu are not truly cold-blooded (they generate a small amount of in-body head and do not hibernate) they nonetheless rely on environmental heat sources and during wintertime add hours to their already extensive rest time- going from dozens of hours to entire days of sleep. A husband of a Hachu should expect to spend a considerable amount of time wrapped in the webbed arms of his wife, sunbathing in the summer and cocooned in a shelter during the winter.
  31.
  32. Hachu food is mostly what can be caught- boiled crawfish with corn and potatoes, gumbo (a stew or soup that originated in southern Louisiana during the 18th century. It consists primarily of a strongly-flavored stock, meat or shellfish, a thickener, and the vegetable holy trinity of celery, bell peppers, and onions), softshell soup. But as the Hachu are not confined to the water, things like deer and rabbit aren't entirely uncommon.
  33.
  34. As the Hachu are egg-layers, their huts are extremely important to them as a way of protecting the eggs. Which hut keeps the eggs protected is always and instantly recognizable, as it is the one with the most effort put into it's construction and usually the only type of Hachu hut that is completely permanent. When one walks into a Hachu settlement, the usual sight is a stream, some huts, active camps, an open skinning and cooking center, and a very large house made of modern, treated wood with barred windows, layered walls and a cache of guards posted every eight feet or so around the perimeter. God save you if one of the eggs is ever broken.
  35.
  36. While the Hachu do prefer the swamps, in many places they have been forced off due to encroachment of other Indian tribes, or more often, human settlements. While that Hachu have been involved with very few wars with human settlements, other tribes aren't so peaceful and have given a negative record to the group of species.
  37.
  38. >What did you use to thicken the gumbo husband?
  39. >Uhhh okra?
  40. >THIS WILL NOT STAND. FIND MY JAR OF FILE AT ONCE!
  41. >We're out sweetie scale
  42. >THEN GO GRAB SOME LEAVES AND GRIND SOME MORE
  43.
  44. The Choctaw used to have a cultural hard on for speeches and storytelling that rivaled the Greeks. If you were a good bard, you were a rockstar. And the politicians were expected to speak as well as modern ones or better.
  45.
  46. >You will never watch two little Hachu girls argue whose Dad tells the better bedtime stories
  47.
  48.
  49.
  50.
  51.
  52. >Comanche Hellhounds
  53. >The most numerous, warlike and brutal of the southern plains monstergirls.
  54. >Scalping, raping, husband stealing
  55. >Hated enough that almost all surrounding smaller monstergirl tribes have tacit agreements and coalitions against them
  56. >All lithe and fit
  57. >Love to celebrate and party
  58. >Very quick to adapt to changing situations as well
  59. >When faced with overwhelming force, they'll quickly begin talking about trade and romance
