  1. >"There's that fucker, Brad. Hey bro, how you doing?" Someone shouted from the crowd.
  2. >"For the last time, my name is not Brad." Sentry thought to himself.
  3. >"Oh, isn't he dreamy?" A girl giggle to her friends.
  4. >"Then why don't you say it to my face?" Flash sighed.
  5. >Flash Sentry was walking down the hallway of Canterlot high.
  6. >He was feeling down since the morning. Just thinking about his life in this school.
  7. >Since the first day, people have been calling him Brad.
  8. >It all began when some jock tried to mess with him, thinking it would be funny to call him random names.
  9. >It kind of backfired, since no one realized he was joking. Now everybody thinks Sentry's name is Brad.
  10. >Even though he is glad no one picked him on, he hates this nickname.
  11. >Every single one of his classmates truly believes it is his real name.
  12. >Sentry stopped trying to convince them otherwise.
  13. >Well, this is a little lie.
  14. >There is one that doesn't call him that way.
  15. >Coincidentally, this classmate also has a nickname everybody thinks is her real name.
  16. >Sadly, she constantly gets picked on.
  17. >Flash Sentry met her behind the basketball courts on the second week of school.
  18. >He was giving himself a small tour after classes ended, when he found her.
  19. >The girl was sitting on the grass, covering her face with her hands, crying.
  20. >"Hey, what's wrong?" Flash asked.
  21. >The blonde girl peek at him, hiding her face once more.
  22. >"Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you." He put his hands behind his head, in a playful way.
  23. >She faced his way, and that's when Flash saw her lazy eye.
  24. >He wasn't prepared, so he backed down a little.
  25. >After this reaction, she turned around once more, crying even harder.
  26. >"Wait, wait! I'm so sorry, it wasn't my- I'm really sorry."
  27. >Flash was desperate. Second week in high school and he made a girl cry.
  28. >He put his hands in his pockets, trying to find anything that could help in this situation.
  29. >"H-Hey! I'm really sorry, would you take this as an apology?" He took out a key chain teddy bear.
  30. >Sentry really liked this key-chain, since her mother gave it to him.
  31. >However, in his mind, this was the only way to mend his mistake.
  32. >The girl looked at him, her face illuminating a little when she saw the bear.
  33. >"It's very cute." She said, while trying to hold her sobbing.
  34. >Flash felt relieved. He may have to ask his mother another key-chain, but that's not important right now.
  35. >He took a chocolate bar from his backpack.
  36. >"Here, you can have you half of it." Sentry offered.
  37. >"Thank you, you're so kind." The girl said, whipping of her tears.
  38. >"Why are you here? Did something happen?" Flash asked.
  39. >The girl didn't want to talk about it. She just sat there, looking at her chocolate bar.
  40. >This was a very uncomfortable atmosphere.
  41. >"Yeah so, well my name is Flash Sentry. What's your name?"
  42. >"Ditzy..." The girl whispered.
  43. >"That's a pretty name, Ditzy."
  44. >More silence.
  45. >"I'm a first grader here. I kind of like it here, it's a nice school. Do you like it too?"
  46. >The girl softly shook her head, while biting her chocolate for the first time.
  47. >"This isn't going anywhere." Flash thought to himself.
  48. >"Say, classes are over. Would you like a smoothie? There's a nice snack bar not far from here." He proposed.
  49. >The girl looked at him in awe.
  50. >"S-Something wrong?" He asked.
  51. >"Nothing. It's just that, no one has invited me out before." Ditzy said, smiling.
  52. >"Well, then let's enjoy ourselves, Ditzy." Flash said, glad that her mood improved, just a little bit.
  53. >"Hey, wake up!"
  54. >A voice snapped Sentry out of his flashback.
  55. >"Huh?"
  56. >"I asked you if something was wrong." his friend said said.
  57. >"Wha- oh. Nah man, everything's alright." Sentry answered.
  58. >"Glad to hear it. Anyway, Purple won't be coming today. She said something about magical horses again." he said, "By the way, Brad, have you seen Aryan beauty?"
  59. >"No, sorry, haven't seen her today."
  60. >"Man, you're useless. Anyway, see you around." he waved before running away through the corridor.
  61. >"He is a cool dude, but I just wish he stopped calling me Brad." Flash sighed.
  62. >"Thinking about it" he continued, "Both of them are always being bullied."
  63. >"Only difference is, he has our band. But Ditzy, she only has, me."
  64. >Sentry exited school, and sat on the stands of the basketball courts.
  65. >His mind slowly moved away from Ditzy and people calling him Brad, to how people treats him regularly.
  66. >"I always have someone to talk every now and then, but for the most part, I don't even know those people." He reflected.
  67. >He laid down on the benches to see the clouds move across the sky.
  68. >"People greet me, they laugh at my jokes, they hear me playing, but how many of them can I consider more than acquaintances? "
  69. >"Hell, I don't even know their family names. I can't believe he is my only guy friend."
  70. >He realized it long ago. Having all these people to talk to, doesn't necessarily mean you aren't lonely.
  71. >"Let's see, we have him, Ditzy and Twilight. And the last says she will be going back to her place soon." Sentry sighed.
  72. >Twilight had something special in her.
  73. >Maybe she was special, someone that is not like the rest.
  74. >Or maybe, he only thought of her as special.
  75. >In the end, what matters the most is that she is the only girl she wants to spend all his time with.
  76. >A difficult task, since she prefers to hang out with her friends.
  77. >Sentry smirked.
  78. >He is jealous of Flash's friend, but for different reasons.
  79. >He knows that he isn't backstabbing him. After all, he keeps bitching of Twilight.
  80. >Still, that guy spends a lot of time with her.
  81. >"So that means two of my closest persons in this school are most of the time away from me."
  82. >Even Ditzy, she doesn't want to hang out with him in public.
  83.
  84. >"Yo bro, we saw you with the retard the other day. You should invite us when you break with her. It will be fun as shit." A jock told Sentry after slapping his back.
  85. >"I'm not dating her. She is my friend." Flash said, annoyed by this conversation.
  86. >"Yeah right. Remember that you don't need to use a condom, bro. No one would believe her." He laughed after his own joke.
  87. >"I need to go, I have a class." Flash said.
  88. >"Ok, bro. See ya."
  89. >Sentry couldn't believe that people could be this stupid.
  90. >Bullying such an adorable and friendly girl. He just couldn't stand it.
  91. >However, what could he do? try to beat them one by one?
  92. >It would make the problem worse for Ditzy, and for him.
  93. >When he turned to the left in the corridor, to go to the library, he bumped with Ditzy.
  94. >She nervously looked at him, and then quickly walked another way.
  95. >"Ditzy?"
  96. >After classes, he met with her on their usual spot.
  97. >"What's wrong, Ditzy? I'm sorry if I did something-"
  98. >No!, no, no it's ok. You didn't do anything wrong, Flash." She mumbled while playing with her hands. "It's just that, well, I don't want to be a problem."
  99. >"Don't be silly. Why would you be a problem for me?"
  100. >"Some girls, they told me that I'm being an annoyance, that you are dating me for pity. I told them that we aren't dating but-" She began sobbing a little bit.
  101. >"Ditzy, Ditzy. Stop, you are not an annoyance. Forget what those idiots say, you 're my best friend." Flash said while hugging her.
  102. >"Really?"
  103. >"Yes! So don't worry about it."
  104. >"Still. I don't want people to think ill of you. So I won't talk to you in school. I don't want them to be mean with you."
  105. >There was no point in discussing with Ditzy.
  106. >He learnt that when she decides on something, there is no way to change it.
  107. >Sentry just hug her, comforting the grey skinned girl.
  108.
  109. >To help Ditzy, he made sure that no one saw them whenever he invited her to his house.
  110. >He even got a girlfriend, the most popular girl in school, so that people stopped messing with his friend.
  111. >Sunset Shimmer, he thought, would be strong enough to defend herself against the insults.
  112. >She was perfectly capable of defending herself, alright.
  113. >Also she was one hell of a bitch.
  114. >Still, she worked her part perfectly.
  115. >People stopped bullying Ditzy, at least for that reason.
  116.
  117. >Sentry woke up from his sleep.
  118. >He didn't know where he was, until he checked his watch.
  119. >"Crap, I stayed here for too long. Classes were over 2 hours ago."
  120. >When he was sitting up, he saw Ditzy besides him.
  121. >"Hello, did you sleep well?" The girl asked with a smile on her face.
  122. >Sentry smiled "Yeah, thank you, Ditzy. Say, would you like to come to my house? I got this movie I'm sure you'll like."
  123. >"Yes, I'd like to." Ditzy answered. "Would it be ok, if we bought some popcorns on the way?"
  124. >"Of course! We can buy all kinds of snacks. We can even make a fort with our pillows."
  125. >"That would be so fun! What kind of movie is it?"
  126. >"It's about giant robots fighting giant monsters." He said "Pacific Rim."
  127. >"I don't know, is it violent?" She asked.
  128. >"A little bit, but trust me, you'll love it."
  129. >"Ok, Flash, I trust you." Ditzy said while helping him getting up.
  130. >The two friends walked back home, to have a nice evening.
  131. >In the end, Flash understood that it was all worthy.
  132. >If the only thing he had to do, was to make this girl happy.
