SA&D - OVERVIEW

>>Overview of how system will be used in Uni.

-Students come into classroom, scan finger on scanner that's positioned near the entrance of class room/ lecture theatre
-Fingerprint is checked against database of fingerprints
-If matched, student is signed in, timestamped and recorded in DB.
-When class/ lecture is over. student signs out by scannning finger on fingerprint device which will log a leave time.
-If 4 hours pass without student scanning finger to show they have left the class then system will list student as a 'no return' if there has been a break in the lecture etc.

>> First time set-up of user fingerprints

-Custom UI for admin to store fingerprints.
-Multiple fingerprints are needed for each to user to assure accuracy on sign in/sign out.
-A photo will be taken of the user and stored with finger print. (Photo needs to be a a .gif to reduce size of database)
-User details such as name and course will be stored with finger print also.
