Proverb/Purple Kay

Mar 02 22:09:09 *	Proverb comes trotting over to Purple_Kay, nudging his leg gently. "Kay?"
Mar 02 22:09:33 *	Purple_Kay looks down with a smile. "Yeah, Wishy?"
Mar 02 22:10:24 *	Proverb is not smiling very much at all, she casts a glance back at Harmony, before looking back to Purple_Kay. "C-Can we talk now?"
Mar 02 22:11:43 *	Purple_Kay nods. "Sure. Let's duck over here for some privacy." He slips off away from the group, taking her somewhere nearby where they can chat without eavedroppers.
Mar 02 22:14:43 *	Proverb nods to Purple_Kay, trotting after him. As they arrive she sighs. "I-it's about me and H-Harmony...."
Mar 02 22:16:53 *	Purple_Kay looks her over. He gives an encouraging nod.
Mar 02 22:19:12 <Proverb>	"W-Well... we went to the S-Society to s-see if we couldn't get rid of her bounty... and she met w-with King Awesome and her mom..." She starts off. Sh-she has to pay them h-her bounty I think... and she's exiled f-from the society now. But... I b-bought her engagnement ring while I was there... I was going to propose to her a-after everything was sorted out... b-but now..."
Mar 02 22:19:37 *	Proverb droops her ears. "Sh-she says she doesn't kn-know if she loves me anymore or not..."
Mar 02 22:20:06 <Proverb>	"D-Doesn't know if I'm j-just using h-her like sh-she was b-b-b-back... th-th-there..." She sniffles, tears rolling down her cheeks.
Mar 02 22:23:27 *	Purple_Kay blinks, trying to fit his head around it. He moves over and sits beside the small mare, bringing a massive foreleg around to rest on her withers in a hug. "That place was bad for her. Going back, I'm sure it brought up old, buried fears. She needs to work through it."
Mar 02 22:25:03 *	Proverb nods to Purple_Kay. "I kn-kn-know... a-and I'm g-g-giving her a-all the time sh-she needs b-but..." She presses her face into Purple_Kay's coat, whimpering. "Wh-what if sh-she decides th-that she d-doesn't llove m-m-me?"
Mar 02 22:27:59 *	Purple_Kay pulls her gently into his chest. "Then you'll have to let her go. It'll hurt, but you'll make it through. You're strong Wishy, and young. Love fails more than it works, the key is to keep looking until you find the one that lasts."
Mar 02 22:29:55 *	Proverb whimpers softly. "Th-that's what e-everyone's s-saying... b-but... I d-don't want to let her go... I've... h-had to let go everyone I've e-ever c-cared about... n-not her t-too..."
Mar 02 22:31:27 *	Purple_Kay runs his hoof through her mane. He looks away with a faraway look. "Have I ever told you about my wife?"
Mar 02 22:32:06 *	Proverb sniffs, shaking her head at Purple_Kay. "No..." She says quietly.
Mar 02 22:35:02 *	Purple_Kay "I loved her from the first time we met until the day she died. Her name was Forgefire. She was fiery and fun, witty... The second most important thing she ever gave me was her hoof."
Mar 02 22:38:00 *	Proverb nods to Purple_Kay, giving him a small nuzzle. "What was the most important?"
Mar 02 22:41:02 *	Purple_Kay gives a sad smile. "My son." He sighs. "I lost them all when I got these scars. Well..." He taps his forehead. "Except this. But a young mare I knew, her name was Smelter. I thought she got away. When I could move, I followed the trail... found what the raiders did with the ponies that escaped the fire... I thought she was dead too."
Mar 02 22:41:52 *	Purple_Kay "I lost myself to grief. Couldn't think of a reason to live, but was too stubborn to die. I wasted twenty years just killing time and raiders."
Mar 02 22:42:23 *	Proverb droops her ears, the tiny mare hugging Purple_Kay tightly. "Th-then what?"
Mar 02 22:46:18 *	Purple_Kay smiles just a tiny bit. "Then I ran into Razor in Flank. She looked so much like Smelty... I just couldn't believe it. I stuck around her a bit... we worked together... I drug her to the Doc's when the Radhogs nearly got her. I started to care for her, let her in. After several weeks of us all traveling together, I learned something."
Mar 02 22:46:53 *	Proverb tilts her head at Purple_Kay. "What did you learn?"
Mar 02 22:49:01 *	Purple_Kay "I learned Razor looked a lot like her, but her mane was a different color. I learned while I was so caught up in my pain and grief and own hurt, Smelty was out there struggling to survive and care for a daughter."
Mar 02 22:50:26 *	Proverb nods to Purple_Kay, still hugging the much larger stallion. "Have you found Smelter?" She asks.
Mar 02 22:52:43 *	Purple_Kay shakes his head. "No... but I found Razor. But the point is this, I wasted twenty years hung up on the past when I could have found somepony who needed me, who I cared for. I don't want that for you. I know it'll hurt, that you won't want to move on, but you're strong. If... /IF/... it doesn't work out. You have to promise me you'll be stronger than I was."
Mar 02 22:54:25 *	Proverb nods to Purple_Kay. "I p-promise." She says sofly.
Mar 02 22:57:12 *	Purple_Kay smiles down at her. "I know it's not what you want to hear, and I'd love to promise you it'll all be alright, but you're smarter than taking solace in weak words like that. You be strong and I'll be here to help you along if you need me."
Mar 02 22:58:23 *	Proverb nods to Purple_Kay. "I-Is there anything you c-can do to help Harmony...? I w-want to show her that I stll care... but... she doesn't really want me around her right now..."
Mar 02 23:01:05 *	Purple_Kay rubs her withers with a plate-sized hoof. "I promise I'll talk to her and give her the best advice I can. I can't promise it'll be to come back to you... but I'll do my best to help her find what her heart is trying to tell her mind."
Mar 02 23:02:23 *	Proverb nods to Purple_Kay, hugging him again. "Th-thank you..." She says. "I just want her to be happy..."
Mar 02 23:05:14 *	Purple_Kay squeezes her back. "You're heart's in the right place, even if it's hurting. You're a good mare."
Mar 02 23:06:40 *	Proverb nods to Purple_Kay, smiling. "Thank you Kay." She says. "Let's get back to the others."
Mar 02 23:07:08 *	Purple_Kay pats her back once again and nods. "Sure." He stands to head back.
