Selena: Yeah, I'm fine. There's no way anybody could injure me.

Caeldori: You're as reliable as always. Just hearing those words puts me at peace. Oh. There's something I want to give you. I think you'll love it.

Selena: What is it? You giving me treasure, or something?

Caeldori: N-nothing like that, no...I bought this from one of the stands before the robbers appeared. Here, take it. It's a perfectly ripe apple.

Selena: Ah...

Caeldori: You said you liked apples, right? So I thought this'd be the perfect opportunity to make you happy.

Selena: ...

Caeldori: W-was I wrong!? Would you have preferred a candy apple instead!?

Selena: No. This is better. I'm really happy; thank you, Caledori. It just...brought back some memories of the past.

Caeldori: The past?

Selena: Yeah. Someone really important to me gave me an apple, just like you did, in return for having me answer a certain question.

Caeldori: I see...then, could I ask you something, too?

Selena: Sure. This festival is all about you kids, so I'll answer anything you ask.

Caeldori: How do you want me to grow up to be, mother?

Selena: Well...you can grow up however you want to.

Caeldori: What? That's all? You don't want me to be perfect

Selena: Nope. Trying to be perfect is so exhausting. Just so long as you're honest and genuine. Yeah...and don't try to use your cuteness as a way to beg your parents for things, and don't grow up to have a twisted personality...

Caeldori: ...Umm. Are you talking about yourself?

Selena: No way! They're just examples. Anyway, I'll love you no matter how you grow up to be. I'll always keep you by my side and protect you. I won't die and leave you behind, and neither me nor Subaki will let you die.

Caeldori: Mother...

Selena: I'm sorry for making you feel so lonely in the past. A mother shouldn't leave her child behind...you really had to put up with a lot because of me.

Caeldori: Not at all! Even when we were apart, I'd always obey you. (unsure of that; sounds kind of weird) And then, whenever you'd come visit, you'd always bring me so many gifts. S-so...I...wasn't lonely at all, or anything like that!

Selena: Caeldori...heh. You really were lonely, weren't you? You even started imitating me...an apology isn't enough at this point, but today, I'll buy you anything you want. What do you want?

Caeldori: ...I don't want anything other than to be with you and father. Promise me, mother. That we'll always be together. Even after we fight off these robbers, and after the festival ends, and after the war ends...you have to stay with me, or I'll never forgive you...

Selena: Yeah, I promise...I won't leave you again. We'll always be together. I swear, I'll be right there with you and Subaki, until the very end...
