Lance oh joy

Personality:

Prideful and highly egotistical.

Wants to be in the spotlight whenever he can

Always seeks approval from everyone, lower ranks and higher ranks alike

Usually talks about himself a lot, and his past achievements

Though hard exterior and annoying demeanor, has a good heart beneath

Gives respect when it’s deserved.

Wants respect in the big things he does, not the small things, and tries to make it a big deal.

Though he wants the glory, he shares it with his comrades if they had a hand in whatever what was done, such as after a victorious battle

Is condescending towards those that are lazy and undeserving of rank, but likes those that actually try to earn their rank

Has a Boston sort of accent

Never seems to stand still, always trying to lean on something

Eager for action, wants to add more to his ego.

Always working hard, believes pride and ego must be earned, not faked.

He will sacrifice his pride for the good of the group if need be




History:

Grew up in a hard neighborhood in the poor district of one of the colony sectors, his childhood wasn’t so happy.

His family isn’t doing so well and money is hard to come by, but Lance finds a way through to come back with some cash, even as a kid. Going to school was just as brutal as the streets as he was beaten up relentlessly by the bigger kids, but the beatings slowly stop as the bigger kids realized Lance is no longer crying, but is now smiling from the pain. Beating up Lance became boring to the bigger kids, and that also makes them fear Lance.

What can they do to someone who barely feels the pain?

As he grew into adulthood, he became gang leader of a group called “The Smackers” and has taken territory from other gangs. Some other gang leaders either joined him or was chased away from the streets. One of his big school bullies was a gang leader, and Lance got him cornered, with a gun to his head.

But Lance did not pull the trigger.

Lance already knows he won, and killing this man who was once his bully will not change anything. He already proved himself stronger.

He looks up to his father, and always seeks approval to those that he holds dear. Whatever he does, he always wants to show off his friends or family especially his father. However, after announcing his position as gang leader of “The Smackers”, his father disowned him.

Lance was crushed and felt all his work was all for naught. He only wanted approval and it was denied from him.

After another drunk day at the bar, he saw an ad on the pub tv about joining the WIJ forces.

Lance figured joining the ranks of WIJ forces will earn his father’s approval and love again.

He joins up and works as hard as he can. He rose through the ranks due to his skills, even if his behavior received low marks. Jealous troopers wanted to duel him in combat because they are annoyed by prideful attitude. Lance won all his fights, proving his ego.

He wants to take it further, and tried to get into the shock troopers. He went to a tryout, only to be marked off as not a potential, after losing so many fights.

Lance does not hate those that beat him, but respects them for their skill. Lance then trains hard until the next tryouts. This time was marked as potential, and was given a STT soon after.

He scored high enough marks to be considered a rank of Recon, only few points shy of Infiltrator.

He joins a ST squad with the infamous Hunter and (Other protagonist guy). He has only gone through missions that involve fighting insurgents and wants harder foes to prove his worth

Lance is excited for the next mission and what it holds. He wants to come back a hero to his family and to his father.

He only wants approval.
