- [ORIGINALLY WRITTEN JANUARY 2013]
- >You are Twilight Sparkle
- >Your eyelids are heavy and your head is absolutely throbbing
- >You feel extremely tired
- >You really don’t want to open your eyes
- >But something in the back of your mind is nagging you to do so
- >Your memory is extremely foggy but you know you have to remember
- >Think Twilight, think
- >...Okay, you found somewhere to begin
- >You were in the Tree-brary in Ponyville when you received an important letter from Princess Celestia
- >It read:
- >”My Faithful Pupil, Twilight Sparkle...”
- >”I require your presence at Canterlot post haste. I have an important magical experiment I wish to undertake and I require your presence and assistance. I know these words will probably leave you feeling nervous, don’t. You can trust my judgement that you are ready for this”
- >Of course that didn’t stop your nerves
- >You trusted the Princess’ judgment, sure
- >But you didn’t trust in your ability to keep up with her high opinion
- >Once you had processed the information fully you hopped onto the next train to Canterlot
- >Initially upon reading the letter you were quite nervous
- >However as time passed on the train ride you tried out something from a book you read
- >’The Complete Aspie's Guide to Self-Soothing’
- >It really worked too, a lot of your nervousness shifted to excitement
- >After a long, boring and uneventful train ride you arrived at Canterlot
- >You rushed off of the platform, headed straight the for castle
- >There was no time to enjoy yourself, according to the Princess’ letter
- >Maybe, if you were lucky, there would be time afterward
- >You remembered arriving at the castle
- >”Oh... I see you took me very literally when I said post haste”
- >The Princess said, commenting on your lack of breath and slightly messed up visage
- >...And then
- ”Princess!”
- >Your eyes snapped open as you forced your weary body to get up, off of the floor
- >You rushed over to the Princess’ side, ignoring everything else around you, for the moment
- >She was still unconscious, it seemed
- >You quickly surveyed the room, the other two Alicorns were similarly incapacitated
- >There was also a navy blue heap on the floor
- >Investigating that could wait for later
- >Your horn lit up as you pressed it to the Princess’
- >Sparks issue from the tip of it
- >Glittering for a moment in front of the Princess’ face before fading
- >Your head’s throbbing increased twofold
- >You really didn’t have the energy for this
- >Your vision went completely black for a moment
- >Before snapping back into focus
- >Your legs give out under you, but still you focus on casting your magic
- >The Princess’ horn lights up for a moment, then the glow from both your horns fades
- >Your eyes look pleadingly to hers, hoping you were successful in your attempt to awaken her from her unconscious state
- >Her eye lids begin to flutter
- >”Twilight, a-are you okay?”
- >You had never heard the Princess so weak and vulnerable
- “Princess... Don’t worry about me, what about Luna and Cadence?”
- >Celestia managed to struggle to her feet
- >”Neither of us have enough strength to revive them right now, we will just have to wait for them to awaken”
- >You give her a concerned look
- >”Twilight, you’ve gone far beyond my expectations for you, once again... I can’t ask any more of you”
- >Celestia turned her head from you, looking instead to the centre of the room
- >”I think what we need to do right now is investigate the results of the experiment”
- >You are Anon
- >Your head is absolutely pounding
- >Hangovers, nature’s way of teaching you not to get shitfaced
- >You open your eyes
- >...Huh? This wasn’t your house
- >Did you even make it home last night after all that drinking?
- >You couldn’t remember jackshit
