  1. [ORIGINALLY WRITTEN JANUARY 2013]
  2.
  3. >You are Twilight Sparkle
  4. >Your eyelids are heavy and your head is absolutely throbbing
  5. >You feel extremely tired
  6. >You really don’t want to open your eyes
  7. >But something in the back of your mind is nagging you to do so
  8. >Your memory is extremely foggy but you know you have to remember
  9. >Think Twilight, think
  10. >...Okay, you found somewhere to begin
  11. >You were in the Tree-brary in Ponyville when you received an important letter from Princess Celestia
  12. >It read:
  13.
  14. >”My Faithful Pupil, Twilight Sparkle...”
  15. >”I require your presence at Canterlot post haste. I have an important magical experiment I wish to undertake and I require your presence and assistance. I know these words will probably leave you feeling nervous, don’t. You can trust my judgement that you are ready for this”
  16. >Of course that didn’t stop your nerves
  17. >You trusted the Princess’ judgment, sure
  18. >But you didn’t trust in your ability to keep up with her high opinion
  19. >Once you had processed the information fully you hopped onto the next train to Canterlot
  20. >Initially upon reading the letter you were quite nervous
  21. >However as time passed on the train ride you tried out something from a book you read
  22. >’The Complete Aspie's Guide to Self-Soothing’
  23. >It really worked too, a lot of your nervousness shifted to excitement
  24. >After a long, boring and uneventful train ride you arrived at Canterlot
  25. >You rushed off of the platform, headed straight the for castle
  26. >There was no time to enjoy yourself, according to the Princess’ letter
  27. >Maybe, if you were lucky, there would be time afterward
  28. >You remembered arriving at the castle
  29. >”Oh... I see you took me very literally when I said post haste”
  30. >The Princess said, commenting on your lack of breath and slightly messed up visage
  31. >...And then
  32.
  33. ”Princess!”
  34. >Your eyes snapped open as you forced your weary body to get up, off of the floor
  35. >You rushed over to the Princess’ side, ignoring everything else around you, for the moment
  36. >She was still unconscious, it seemed
  37. >You quickly surveyed the room, the other two Alicorns were similarly incapacitated
  38. >There was also a navy blue heap on the floor
  39. >Investigating that could wait for later
  40. >Your horn lit up as you pressed it to the Princess’
  41. >Sparks issue from the tip of it
  42. >Glittering for a moment in front of the Princess’ face before fading
  43. >Your head’s throbbing increased twofold
  44. >You really didn’t have the energy for this
  45. >Your vision went completely black for a moment
  46. >Before snapping back into focus
  47. >Your legs give out under you, but still you focus on casting your magic
  48. >The Princess’ horn lights up for a moment, then the glow from both your horns fades
  49. >Your eyes look pleadingly to hers, hoping you were successful in your attempt to awaken her from her unconscious state
  50. >Her eye lids begin to flutter
  51. >”Twilight, a-are you okay?”
  52. >You had never heard the Princess so weak and vulnerable
  53. “Princess... Don’t worry about me, what about Luna and Cadence?”
  54. >Celestia managed to struggle to her feet
  55. >”Neither of us have enough strength to revive them right now, we will just have to wait for them to awaken”
  56. >You give her a concerned look
  57. >”Twilight, you’ve gone far beyond my expectations for you, once again... I can’t ask any more of you”
  58. >Celestia turned her head from you, looking instead to the centre of the room
  59. >”I think what we need to do right now is investigate the results of the experiment”
  60.
  61. >You are Anon
  62. >Your head is absolutely pounding
  63. >Hangovers, nature’s way of teaching you not to get shitfaced
  64. >You open your eyes
  65. >...Huh? This wasn’t your house
  66. >Did you even make it home last night after all that drinking?
  67. >You couldn’t remember jackshit
