The rating should not be 3+ but around 4+, this is really a good story, In the beginning you thought it was just a strong MC with really thick plot armor, but you are definitely wrong, This novel has more sense than ATG, MGA and other overbearing MC.   1825. It's always frustrating when people only read the 1st 20 chapters and had the gall to write an undermining review. </P>
  1826. That being said, this novel is actually decent. For me, it is solid 4 but I'm giving it 5 to offset the low ratings. </P>
  1827. The MC for one, is a likeable xianxia hero. While he is still hot blooded, rash, he still consider pro and cons in everything. He is also smart and scheming. Most often than not, Xianxia's MC would always be potrayed as cunning and intelligent etc. But<span class="dots">... </span><span class="morelink" href="#" onclick="showtext(this); return false;">more>></span><span style="display:none"> their actions are no more mature than a 12 years old pre-pubescent boy. The MC is also dilligent amd hardworking. He might be the most decent MC among all the xianxias and wuxias that I have read. </P>
  1828. The side characters are also good. They actually have personalities. The antagonists, while still being the same like every other novels, are actually provided with good story backgrounds. For romances, based on what I've read up till now, it is not a harem. Even if the author suddenly decided to make it a harem, it would not be lousily made considering how the girls actually would have legit reasons to be infatuated with the MC. </P>
  1829. Those who enjoys reading about crafting and alchemy might like this novel, as the MC is also good in alchemy. </P>
  1830. This novel still maintains the original recipe of a xianxia/wuxia novel (plot armour, cultivations, sects, revenges) but it is certainly unique. For me, definitely worth the read. </P>

  1892. <p>The servant girl was forced inducted into becoming a disciple due to finding out she had supreme spiritual roots. Some master cultivators outside of a root testing facility spotted them on their way to eat something and forced them to take the root test. I think it was implied that they could perceive one of them having a good spirit roots and that's why the MC and female lead were forced. The problem lies in that the MC parents having died and spent all their money trying to open the MC's mortal root only to fail. Why did no one notice the female leads spirit roots before which would have solved their problems. It feels like the future chapters are going to have the damsel in distress cliche and have the female leads get taken away from MC which will lead to power ups and the destroy sect to recover female lead only for this to repeat again. It sucks as the story started out interesting only for this happen on the first 4 chapters of the story with it coming out nowhere. It would have been fine if it happened more naturally like the MC earning enough to test the female lead's roots and then deciding to join a sect or self cultivate. Instead they went with a bad cliche at start of novel to create conflict/drama. </P></p>

I think some people who followed the novel said that some weren't really part of the harem but still, the guy gets no breaks. The story is said to be really good but it's the female kidnap cliche that makes people have issues with the story. </P></p>

  1910. His other work, strongest abandoned son, was pretty good story and enjoyable to read but it seems that this xianxia might end up like gate of misfortune. As I just saw that it might be following the same path as gate of misfortune I will have to stop at this point in the story. If anyone is going to read this story, I would suggest you read the reviews on people who have read or completed gate of good fortune before deciding to read this xianxia (to see whether you don't mind those cliches). It could follow a different direction than GOGF but I would wait for more chapters to release to see if the story will be different than GOGF. Like I said, the writing is good but it's the cliches and the way they are delivered that put me off from this story. </P>

A quite realistic reincarnation story which does not make the MC seem like God with superhuman gifts but rather human specifically a scientist who got betrayed by his wife. His example in spoiler section did not mention that the individual who detected that the servant might have natural gifts was from a large sect and a elder and thus was more attuned and powerful enough to detect faintly her spirit quality in comparison to his father with no spiritual root (mortal root}. However, he still needed to get her tested. If it was that easy to detected spirit quality of humans, perhaps, there would not be any 'test'. Moreover, this is his servant not girlfriend or wife and definitely not the lead female character but his servant, to suggest his going go to destroy a sect because of a servant is absurd and ridiculous. </p>

  2099. I am not sure where the hate for this novel is coming from. This has been a very enjoyable novel to read so far. It shows you how far you can get with a little bit of hard work and some common sense. The MC is really smart and has the "common sense" that other MC tend to lack in most of the web novels. </P>
  2100. There is also no over powered cheat or anything that would suddenly make the MC super strong, rather its a gradual increase in strength.   2325. Great story so far! A reincarnation that sounds solid as the author takes the time to flesh out what is happening around the MC and what he was like prior to reincarnation. None of that bullsh*t where the MC goes "Oh I reincarnated, this father was a genius in his previous life so he will just wipe through all the opposition here! Eat candies level up and pop out super saiyan like power. " Nope, MC is actually a mortal who needs special meds to open up his path to<span class="dots">... </span><span class="morelink" href="#" onclick="showtext(this); return false;">more>></span><span style="display:none"> immortality. </P>

But that is only enough to get 3 or maybe 4 stars out of me at best, the real kicker is that the MC decided to create a medicine (since he was a medicine refiner in his previous life) and this medicine has been one of the biggest cornerstones for human history. Especially the World War that was fought, thousands of lives were saved, and it feels good to see a 21st century medicine being brought up in a Wuxia novel. All I gotta say is that the translator is doing a fabulous job and the story is awesome, can't get enough of it lol! Only wish the releases were faster but even so it is more than worth the wait. </P>

  2556. People say, "Oh, it's like Gate of Good Fortune. " And give it a bad review without really giving the story a chance. Problem is that their understanding of GoGF is often awful as well. If you haven't actually read GoGF then you should stop writing rumors about it. There is no harem in GoGF and none of the MC's female friends have gotten raped. There are some people getting cheated on/NTR'd but it's not the MC nor are they characters we know. GoGF is by no means a perfect<span class="dots">... </span><span class="morelink" href="#" onclick="showtext(this); return false;">more>></span><span style="display:none"> story but it's certainly better than the average I've read here. </P>
  2557. As for Immortal Mortal. This is also a rather good story. It's cliche? What cultivation story isn't filled with cliches? That's like complaining about there being some plot armor. It's reasonably unique and this is one of the more unpredictable authors in the genre in my opinion. The MC's growth is very slow at first. The author takes his time to set up everything properly and you feel like the MC has to really earn his OPness. Since his foundation has pretty much been set his training speed has been rapidly catching up with his peers so he no longer seems weak. </P>
  2558. The MC has a consistent personality and you often know how he's going to respond to provocations and favors. He'll immediately pay you back if he can but has no problem waiting years for revenge either. The story focuses much more on friendships than romance for those interested in such things. He becomes friends with both men and women in good numbers so you don't really get that pseudo harem feel. </P>
  2559. All in all it's not a perfect story but there are no huge negatives for me. I'll probably be following it to the end as I trust this author's work to be of a certain quality. </P>

  2614. So far, a completely lackluster story. There's hardly any fights, and no notable cultivation differences from anyone in the story except for color flashes at the testing site. Sure the MC is still on the bottom of the totem pole, but he hasn't even seen a single technique being used, no magic treasures, no excitement over anything at all. Just a middling novel. </P>

The first 80 chapters that have been translated so far have this nice atmosphere, where MC is very weak and vulnerable and has to thread very carefully, hiding his talents, to avoid attention from powers that would want to kill or enslave him. </P>

  2725. For the moderately intelligent, they would quickly realize that the author has little to no idea of how pharmaceutical drugs are made in industry. </P>
  2726. Well its usually not from plants, not really chinese plants either. Penecillin comes from fungus but somehow the MC managed to find and identify the right fungus from some unknown place and produce penecillin. I atleast expected this to be realistic based on the setting of the mc's original world. </P>

  2782. The beginning of this novel is very hard to read. I stopped reading it 2 times, but because people still liked this novel I gave it another chance. After I got through the bad part it become quite enjoyable. For the beginning I would give it a 1 or 2 star, but for the later parts I give it a 4 star. The story is interesting, the characters are well thought out, but the cultivation levels are a little chaotic for me. </P>

  2961. I have to say that it is a real shame that so many people have decided that this novel deserves 1's and 2's for basically being on the qidian website, even though it's a really great novel that doesn't have anything to do at all with this. </P>

  3017. Beginning might have been very slow, as about first 50 chapters feel like a long prologue of how things went to sh*t, how to begin cultivating. And till around 80-90 chapter we still have little to no cultivation. But after first 50 chapters the story only gets better and better. Unlike many other "GREAT" novels, this one actually has a smart MC, he doesn't meet arrogant young masters everywhere, but in fact befriends a great deal of people on his path before and during cultivation - from servants, service and<span class="dots">... </span><span class="morelink" href="#" onclick="showtext(this); return false;">more>></span><span style="display:none"> outer disciples to people who lead territories, sects, are famous across the lands. And some of them unfortunately meet with misfortune which only adds to MC's enemy list. </P>
  3018. Our MC doesn't have it easy, while he does find valuable friends, he at the same gains their enemies. Adding his upright and unyielding personality, he himself offends even more people, be it to protect said friends, repay someone, or because someone tried to kill him. That's why sometimes he needs to put his revenge on hold for future and endure, or flee when someone has way more influence and power than him. </P>
  3019. Ever since I laughted my ass off about the jokes of Immortal Martial Technique that started popping up at around c70, I knew this novel will be more than simple brainless xianxia. MC's character was really funny and at the same time serious! His cultivation is a bit slow at the beginning, but after c130 he makes plenty of breakthroughts so the whole thing speeds up and you can expect many good battles. </P>
  3020. The Planet our MC transmigrated to has two continents. There are also invasions from other planets, but other than the one our MC took a part in, the rest of them appear on the other continent which is the reason for its superiority in cultivation. </P>
  3021. There are many twists and turns in the story and you will also meet many blood-boiling battles and moments of awesomeness. From secret ambushes and single kills to mortal clan retakes, clan wipes and sect falls. </P>
  3022. Unlike many other protagonists, Mo WujI is really different. He does hide many facts at first and hides his identity so that he doesn't get targeted, but he also reveals many of his murders, secrets or unknown identities to friends, followers when he has enough trust in them, or to world after he gained enough power or position. And this is very satisfying. </P>
  3023. What surprised me is that starting at around c200, the novel actually adds one more amazing element, and that is sect building. I don't want to spoil too much there, but MC leaves his sect, gathers followers, rebuilds and leads his new sect to prosperity. And at this point he doesn't hesistate to wipe threats and exact his revenge. NEVER, literally NEVER have I seen it done in such a good way in any other CN novel. </P>
