  1. Trying to say Jasper is a fusion.
  2. [6:20:01 PM] Stinky: Nuh-uh.
  3. [6:20:58 PM] Hazeyena: Yeah she is.
  4. [6:21:10 PM] Stinky: I meant before she fused with Lapis.
  5. [6:21:16 PM] Stinky: Like Jasper herself being a fusion.
  6. [6:21:35 PM] Hazeyena: She is.
  7. [6:21:43 PM] Stinky: No she ain't.
  8. [6:22:05 PM] Hazeyena: Yes she is.
  9. [6:23:07 PM] Stinky: Before being beaten by Garnet she hated fusions and thought they were weak. Considering she's all about strength, her admitting she's weak would not make ANY sense. The only reason she fused with Lapis in the first place is to try to get stronger after being beaten by Garnet.
  10. [6:23:47 PM] Hazeyena: She's a fusion.
  11. [6:24:00 PM] Stinky: Where's your claim for it.
  12. [6:24:28 PM] Hazeyena: Her eyes.
  13. [6:24:56 PM] Stinky: Her being the only non-fusion with pupils shown doesn't mean anything tho.
  14. [6:25:10 PM] Stinky: That's probably just a design choice.
  15. [6:25:32 PM] Stinky: Her being a fusion would make no sense regarding her character.
  16. [6:25:32 PM] Hazeyena: Iris.
  17. [6:25:49 PM] Stinky: And considering Steven Universe is a character-driven story for the most part, they wouldn't ruin a character just for a reveal.
  18. [6:25:59 PM] Stinky: Garnet being a fusion made sense within the show.
  19. [6:26:54 PM] Hazeyena: And MAYBE her being a fusion was to become stronger, because the two before were weaker, and because they became stronger by fusing instead of by self determination, they could call the fusion stupid.
  20. [6:27:13 PM] Hazeyena: It makes a who lot of sense Jasper would be a fusion.
  21. [6:27:48 PM] Stinky: If she was a fusion to become stronger then she wouldn't call fusions weak though!
  22. [6:27:49 PM] Stinky: Did you not get that part.
  23. [6:28:28 PM] Hazeyena: But she'd call the theory of fusions weak since they didn't become stronger on their own did you ignore that.
  24. [6:29:28 PM] Stinky: Then they wouldn't have become stronger on their own either then.
  25. [6:29:34 PM] Stinky: They became stronger when they fused.
  26. [6:29:51 PM] Hazeyena: No I mean.
  27. [6:29:52 PM] Hazeyena: Ugh.
  28. [6:30:03 PM] Hazeyena: They COULD have become stronger on their own.
  29. [6:30:10 PM] Hazeyena: But DIDN'T.
  30. [6:30:28 PM] Hazeyena: So although they DID become stronger when fused than before.
  31. [6:30:42 PM] Hazeyena: They still COULD have been better without it.
  32. [6:30:49 PM] Hazeyena: Basically they were lazy.
  33. [6:31:37 PM] Stinky: Jasper isn't the type of person that'd be able to stay a fusion anyway. She's too unstable and weak emotionally. That's how Lapis gained control of Malachite for the most part.
  34. [6:31:55 PM] Stinky: Because while Jasper is physically strong she isn't mentally strong.
  35. [6:32:37 PM] Hazeyena: She was damn smart enough and with enough poise to defeat Garnet the first time.
  36. [6:33:04 PM] Hazeyena: You're giving too little credit to a character we've hardly seen.
  37. [6:33:17 PM] Stinky: And you're giving too much credit.
  38. [6:33:27 PM] Hazeyena: Better too much than too little.
  39. [6:33:35 PM] Stinky: Not if the theory is wildly incorrect.
  40. [6:33:52 PM] Hazeyena: You just expect them to make a 2D character like that though?
  41. [6:34:20 PM] Stinky: I'm not saying she'll remain 2D the entire series.
  42. [6:34:24 PM] Hazeyena: Hell, we've seen moments where all the Gems go against what they're normally like and stand for.
  43. [6:34:42 PM] Hazeyena: So maybe that was just one of the things with Jasper.
  44. [6:34:43 PM] Stinky: I'm saying that there are plenty of other ways for her to be fleshed out as a character than be like "oh by the way she's a fusion even though this completely contradicts earlier moments in the series".
  45. [6:34:57 PM] Hazeyena: It really doesn't.
  46. [6:35:08 PM] Stinky: Yes it does.
  47. [6:35:28 PM] Hazeyena: Fact of the matter is, she hates herself, but the two that form her are too compatible to separate.
