  56. (07:02:13) Cheeseness: mathias: Nah, the conversation takes place here in chat. The stream's just for a little context

  60. (07:02:26) mathias: alright good!
  61. (07:02:27) Sven_Q45: Hi. Again too late.
  62. (07:02:28) Cheeseness: Hey Sven_Q45
  63. (07:02:34) Cheeseness: No way, you're on time (for once :D )
  64. (07:02:51) mathias: Im at a party and this laptop is playing the music :)
  65. (07:02:53) theo: oh balls, If I suddenly drop off it's due to overheating. My fan is buzzing like crayzay.
  66. (07:02:54) Emil_Notiem: Hi everybody
  67. (07:03:05) Sven_Q45: Hi.
  68. (07:03:10) theo: brb gonna grab some slabs of ice.
  69. (07:03:19) Cheeseness: lol
  70. (07:03:30) mathias: mad science theo
  71. (07:03:38) Cheeseness: So last week, Bwana and Kito got arrested and broke out of jail
  72. (07:04:06) Cheeseness: I love how happy to be in jail/shot at/crash landed/stranded Bwana is
  73. (07:04:17) Sven_Q45: Btw good to have you back cheese.
  74. (07:04:22) Cheeseness: Cheers, Sven_Q45!
  75. (07:04:25) Cheeseness: It's good to be back
  76. (07:04:29) theo: hehe yeah that's the goal with bwana, make sure he's always fun to play no matter what
  77. (07:04:49) Cheeseness: He might be the most upbeat character in a game that I know of
  78. (07:05:07) Sven_Q45: I hope Bwana doesn´t use drugs. :D
  79. (07:05:21) Cheeseness: So it's been a little over a year since you guys were with us
  80. (07:05:33) mathias: first time for me!
  81. (07:05:34) Cheeseness: Did you think that chapter 2's development would take as long as it did?
  82. (07:05:38) theo: hehe, that's sort of how he was born as a character, us trying to figure out what would be the most fun to play.
  83. (07:05:45) theo: oh no way.
  84. (07:05:59) theo: originally we thought it would go wayyyyyyyy faster.
  85. (07:06:07) Sven_Q45: It´s also the first time for me. I didn´t play TJD yet. :(
  86. (07:06:12) Cheeseness: Bwana's silly voices are great
  87. (07:06:16) theo: Of course we didn't realize how huge it was gonna get. I was envisioned as something a lot smaller in scope, more like TJD1.
  88. (07:06:20) Fhqwhgod [Mibbit@hide-3465A7FD.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] entered the room.
  89. (07:06:22) mathias: we also spent a lot of time "side questing"
  90. (07:06:24) Cheeseness: Hey Fhqwhgod
  91. (07:06:31) mathias: i.e. getting money to keep going
  92. (07:06:37) Syd: Getting ahead of myself here, lol
  93. (07:06:38) Fireflower: I hope to sell it some day ;)
  94. (07:06:45) Fhqwhgod: ohi guys!
  95. (07:06:46) Syd: Forgot to get the lamp
  96. (07:06:51) theo: yeah true, we had to spend a lot more time on other stuff than actual development.
  97. (07:06:53) Cheeseness: Oh, Fireflower runs an online game store
  98. (07:06:57) DrMcCoy [~drmccoy@hide-3E11AC37.host.mroot.net] entered the room.
  99. (07:06:58) Henrik: Heres some keys :)
  100. (07:07:00) Henrik: QDMWB-AREF7-5HQFW 8377F-NGLZ8-IZJLA 9GKT2-8CTC4-LFPP9 02RMQ-D3T7T-K54BB CLNKG-928LG-IMQBD
  101. (07:07:03) Cheeseness: Hey DrMcCoy
  102. (07:07:03) DrMcCoy: Whaa, I'm late, I'm late
  103. (07:07:05) mathias: Syd are you then one playing?
  104. (07:07:11) Cheeseness: Syd's playing at the moment
  105. (07:07:12) Syd: Yep!
  106. (07:07:20) theo: oh we'll be signing with fireflower soon enough don't worry y'all. :)
  107. (07:07:25) Cheeseness: Aww ^_^
  108. (07:07:27) DrMcCoy: Love the game, love the music :)
  109. (07:07:32) Fireflower: sounds good theo :)
  110. (07:07:36) mathias: who's fireflower?
  111. (07:07:45) Cheeseness: Fireflower Games
  112. (07:07:57) mathias: oh online store, eh?
  113. (07:08:09) theo: contract pending
  114. (07:08:10) theo: :P
  115. (07:08:17) Emil_Notiem: So You guys need to side quest much for tjd3?
  116. (07:08:22) mathias: lol theo update trello when you do smart stuff!
  117. (07:08:32) mathias: Emil: Not as much at least
  118. (07:08:36) Sven_Q45: Thank you for the code. :)
  119. (07:08:42) theo: we dunno yet. we hope not.
  120. (07:08:49) theo: It's impossible to know.
  121. (07:08:58) Cheeseness: How has the response to TJD2 been so far?
  122. (07:09:04) theo: when we launched TJD1 we imagined we could easily do TJD2 on that money.. and then reality hit.
  123. (07:09:21) Emil_Notiem: Loved the games so far btw!
  124. (07:09:22) mathias: the sales from TJD1+2 give us way more head room than before
  125. (07:09:25) theo: I'm overwhelmed by the love TJD2 has been getting. We get five star reviews on the app store eveyr day.
  126. (07:09:35) Cheeseness: :)
  127. (07:09:43) theo: The only thing I'm underwhelmed with is our splash on the internets.
  128. (07:09:52) mathias: The response has been extremely good! Really mindblowing
  129. (07:09:52) DrMcCoy: How are sales going, btw? I guess you can't live on the game sales alone?
  130. (07:09:53) theo: It has been impossible to get coverage for TJD2.
  131. (07:10:28) mathias: ..and i dont even know if coverage is the key here. Selling games online is tricky and confusing.
  132. (07:10:29) Cheeseness: Aww, I covered it
  133. (07:10:34) Cheeseness: Yeah
  134. (07:10:40) Cheeseness: Especially "episodic" stuff
  135. (07:10:50) theo: agreed. it's not necesserily about press coverage but rather about storefront coverage.
  136. (07:11:00) DrMcCoy: RPS covered TJD2
  137. (07:11:01) Sven_Q45: that´s why I buy retail normally. :P
  138. (07:11:04) mathias: When we've got our best coverage, like the really super amazing reviews, we havent seen an increase in sales at all
  139. (07:11:14) theo: steam gave us a lot less spotlight this time around (so many more new releases now)
  140. (07:11:18) GameClubFan_088949 [Mibbit@5671D6B.45AE9B9E.A4269208.IP] entered the room.
  141. (07:11:18) Emil_Notiem: What do you think about lets plays?
  142. (07:11:38) GameClubFan_088949 left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  143. (07:11:38) mathias: Lets play is awesome!
  144. (07:11:47) Jenni [Mibbit@hide-C1453BD0.stny.res.rr.com] entered the room.
  145. (07:11:55) theo: yeah we encourage them, but havent really chased after them.
  146. (07:11:57) Syd: Hey Jenni
  147. (07:11:59) theo: hey jenni!
  148. (07:12:03) Cheeseness: Hey Jenni!
  149. (07:12:13) Jenni: Hi! :)
  150. (07:12:17) Fhqwhgod: Oh. It's Jenni
  151. (07:12:20) Sven_Q45: I´m watching many Let´s Plays. :)
  152. (07:12:23) Emanuel [Mibbit@hide-DECB1757.bredband.comhem.se] entered the room.
  153. (07:12:30) Syd: It's a little thing, but I like that I can click out of the game and it doesn't pause. Means I can easily chat while i stream~
  154. (07:12:36) mathias: Emanuel from gbg?
  155. (07:12:47) Emanuel: jupp
  156. (07:12:50) theo: I think now is a more difficult time on steam. So many games launch every day that per title, you just don't get as much love as we did back with TJD1.
  157. (07:12:53) Cheeseness: Hi Emanuel
  158. (07:13:11) Henrik: Hi
  159. (07:13:11) mathias: Everyone, give a round of applause for Emanuel, he saved our asses!
  160. (07:13:11) Emanuel: hi
  161. (07:13:16) Permafry_42 [Mibbit@hide-E0D9392C.vw.shawcable.net] entered the room.
  162. (07:13:16) Cheeseness: How did you feel about your pre-order campaign?
  163. (07:13:21) Henrik: Emanuel also worked on some of the animations
  164. (07:13:22) mathias: Wouldnt be a TJD2 wihtout him.
  165. (07:13:23) Cheeseness: Yay for Emanuel!
  166. (07:13:28) ***Fhqwhgod applauds
  167. (07:13:28) Permafry_42: Hey guys sorry for being late!
  168. (07:13:31) Cheeseness: Hey Permafry_42
  169. (07:13:51) Permafry_42: Forgot dls time changed the timing of the stream for me
  170. (07:14:03) theo: lol I just got called on the phone by an old "Nord" fan wondering when we're gonna start it up again.
  171. (07:14:10) mathias: Emanuel was grinding animations with us throughout the entire summer.. no small job
  172. (07:14:11) Emanuel: hehe thanks allot it was so fun to work on
  173. (07:14:18) Sven_Q45: @Permafry_42 No problem. As long as you don´t have that candy hangover like last time. :D ;)
  174. (07:14:22) mathias: haha damn theo, it never dies
  175. (07:14:24) Jenni: I actually played Nord on Facebook when it was up
  176. (07:14:29) Jenni: it was pretty fun
  177. (07:14:35) Fireflower: hey permafry
  178. (07:14:35) mathias: Wohoo!! Jenni!
  179. (07:15:00) theo: you did? cool.
  180. (07:15:03) Cheeseness: Did anybody grab those keys earlier?
  181. (07:15:13) theo: tjena emanuel!
  182. (07:15:13) mathias: It's mindblowing how many old nord players still ask us to bring the game back online
  183. (07:15:15) Syd: I think Sven got one of them
  184. (07:15:25) Cheeseness: Ah, cool cool
  185. (07:15:35) Sven_Q45: @Syd Yes.
  186. (07:15:51) Jenni: is there anyway to rework it to make it so that it could be ran offline?
  187. (07:16:01) theo: classic question
  188. (07:16:09) mathias: Jenni do you really thing it would be fun to play offline?
  189. (07:16:20) mathias: I think what was really good with nord was the community
  190. (07:16:22) theo: wrong game guys lolz
  191. (07:16:22) Cheeseness: Oh yeah, I remember talking about this on Desura before you got the blog up
  192. (07:16:24) GameClubFan_565913 [Mibbit@hide-6F77513F.inet.dsl.telianet.dk] entered the room.
  193. (07:16:27) Emanuel: hi theo, saw you where doing this thing here and thought i check it out
  194. (07:16:32) mathias: alright sorry haha
  195. (07:16:32) Emil_Notiem: How many core developers are you now btw?
  196. (07:16:37) mathias: 3
  197. (07:16:37) Jenni: yeah, it would be weird without the social interaction
  198. (07:16:44) Cheeseness: There are memories there for people. Even if the soul of it is gone, being able to get in and revisit it is like having a photo fo a precious memory, you know
  199. (07:16:44) theo: three of us
  200. (07:17:07) Jenni: but it might be worth re-working just for the preservation angle
  201. (07:17:29) DrMcCoy: And FLOSS the code
  202. (07:17:41) Cheeseness: So, the pre-order campaign
  203. (07:17:43) Jenni: yeah - that would definitely be awesome too
  204. (07:17:52) Cheeseness: Have you guys been following how things are going over in Tanzania?
  205. (07:18:08) theo: markus, who used to be part of skygoblin, has been helping us out with bits and pieces on TJD2 as well, through contract work. And then we've got Simon and Jamie on the music, and all the awesome voice actors...
  206. (07:18:40) mathias: DrMcCoy: Yes, have been toying with that idea
  207. (07:18:58) DrMcCoy: :)
  208. (07:18:58) mathias: Cheeseness: Yeah im in contact with them regularly
  209. (07:19:05) GameClubFan_929639 [Mibbit@hide-70FD2720.cust.tele2.se] entered the room.
  210. (07:19:10) theo: We hope to do some proper follow up on how the money is spent. If it feels well spent we'd love to do drives with them again.
  211. (07:19:10) Cheeseness: How're things looking? :D
  212. (07:19:16) Sven_Q45: @theo Yeah I like voice acting here! And I liked the idea for the game when you introduced yourselves at LucasForums. :)
  213. (07:19:27) GameClubFan_929639 left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  214. (07:19:34) theo: cheeseness: It's tanzania, things dont move that fast.
  215. (07:19:37) GameClubFan_484176 [Mibbit@hide-70FD2720.cust.tele2.se] entered the room.
  216. (07:19:38) Cheeseness: Ha ha
  217. (07:19:44) DrMcCoy: Right, the voice work is great in TJD
  218. (07:19:47) Cheeseness: How long has it been? 3 months?
  219. (07:19:47) theo: thanks sven!
  220. (07:19:53) mathias: unfortunately we didn't reach all the money they needed for the biogas digester, so they've been doing more fundraising to be able to pull through
  221. (07:19:55) Jenni: yep - the voice acting in the second chapter is awesome
  222. (07:19:57) GameClubFan_565913 left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  223. (07:19:58) JMc1982 [Mibbit@hide-F428CD33.as13285.net] entered the room.
  224. (07:19:59) Fireflower: was it easy or hard to get the voice acting done?
  225. (07:20:01) Permafry_42: the speed walking when you're outside looks a bit funny to be honest
  226. (07:20:17) theo: we worked REAL HARD on pushing the voice acting one step furhter with TJD2.
  227. (07:20:21) theo: I was proud of the speech in TJD1 but I knew we could improve on it.
  228. (07:20:22) mathias: Fireflower: Casting has been a huge job
  229. (07:20:23) Cheeseness: The voice in TJD2 feels way above the first one
  230. (07:20:29) Sven_Q45: And now I have all 3 versions: Chapter one and two and the early game. :)
  231. (07:20:33) Permafry_42: Yeah i love the music and voice acting in this game
  232. (07:20:43) Syd: It gets a little laggy when loading up new areas, it seems, and I've been double-clicking on exits to get around quickly, so it ends up looking kinda laggy. :P
  233. (07:20:45) mathias: Hehe cred for having the freeware game too!
  234. (07:20:48) theo: yeah, we were A LOT more picky with the casting and with doing retakes. Damn we did a lot of retakes.
  235. (07:20:58) flesk: You used an agency for the voices in chapter 2, right? I seem to recall reading that.
  236. (07:20:58) GameClubFan_484176 left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  237. (07:21:10) theo: only for a couple select voices.
  238. (07:21:17) GameClubFan_758855 [Mibbit@hide-70FD2720.cust.tele2.se] entered the room.
  239. (07:21:19) flesk: It was a bit inconsistent in the first chapter.
  240. (07:21:20) theo: most of it is cast by ourselves without agencies invovled.
  241. (07:21:22) beansmyname: That extra effort shows, though. The voice acting is solid.
  242. (07:21:27) Cheeseness: I have a bit of a guilty secret
  243. (07:21:41) theo: thanks, yeah very happy that we pulled it off.
  244. (07:21:46) theo: I wish we had been more picky with tjd1.
  245. (07:21:47) Cheeseness: I haven't actually played the game since release. So there's some stuff that I haven't seen finished art for
  246. (07:22:01) JMc1982 left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  247. (07:22:19) theo: no one has seen the FINAL art either because it's in an unreleased patch huehue.
  248. (07:22:22) mathias: Cheese: The cutscenes were the last to be put in place. Henrik did an insane job the last two weeks.
  249. (07:22:24) Sven_Q45: And I hope there will be a retail version soon. :)
  250. (07:22:30) Cheeseness: Yeah
  251. (07:22:44) theo: We aren't looking at retail until TJD3 is done, I'm pretty sure.
  252. (07:22:49) theo: same with localization.
  253. (07:22:49) flesk: Would be neat if you got picked up by the Indie Box.
  254. (07:23:13) Emanuel: hehe yeah the collectors box
  255. (07:23:14) Syd: My Brutal Legend Indiebox just came in today
  256. (07:23:22) Jenni: I can just imagine the awesome feelies that would be included in a TJD Indiebox
  257. (07:23:23) Cheeseness: Yeah, it makes sense to not look at retail until TJD3 is done
  258. (07:23:31) Jenni: I'd buy that in a heartbeat
  259. (07:23:31) flesk: I think you'd qualify since you are cross-platform on PC and have good enough review scores.
  260. (07:23:34) theo: yeah, We'd like to do it as a trilogy.
  261. (07:23:34) mathias: hmm that sounds pretty cool
  262. (07:23:35) Sven_Q45: So there WILL be a retail?
  263. (07:23:43) flesk: Yeah, that would be best.
  264. (07:23:46) theo: I hope so. one day.
  265. (07:23:46) GameClubFan_758855 left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  266. (07:23:58) Cheeseness: This was stick figures here when I played, I think :D
  267. (07:24:00) theo: we've talked to different partners about it who want to do it. We're just stalling 'em. :D
  268. (07:24:04) Henrik: With a shiny box :D
  269. (07:24:14) mathias: super shiny box
  270. (07:24:33) Emil_Notiem left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  271. (07:24:42) Sven_Q45: *preordering it* mentally. :D
  272. (07:24:43) mathias: i want small 3d printed figures too!
  273. (07:24:54) mathias: let's do a kickstarter for that!
  274. (07:25:06) theo: thats great mathias, you can launch a kickstarter. :P
  275. (07:25:11) theo: exactly lolz
  276. (07:25:13) Cheeseness: heh
  277. (07:25:31) theo: wow I'm so amazed we pulled this scene off.
  278. (07:25:32) mathias: by the way, can
  279. (07:25:32) Fhqwhgod: great scene
  280. (07:25:47) theo: like, I honestly never really thought that would fly without humphrey bogart and lauren bacall
  281. (07:25:51) Fireflower: 3D printed figures would be cool
  282. (07:25:55) mathias: can't belive the h.p. lovecraft game didn't get funded. R.I.P. kickstarter
  283. (07:26:10) Henrik: Wish we had more time for the animations. Wish i can improve some time in the future.
  284. (07:26:12) Cheeseness: Which Lovecraft game? It feels like there are so many now >_<
  285. (07:26:25) theo: well.. the dog mendonca game survived on KS. :)
  286. (07:26:36) theo: barely, but still. and sure it's a hella more modest budget. But it worked.
  287. (07:26:40) Jenni: yeah, I was happy to see that one make it
  288. (07:26:43) flesk: Glad Dog Mendonça got funded at least.
  289. (07:26:44) mathias: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/agustincordes/h-p-lovecrafts-the-case-of-charles-dexter-ward/posts/1031661
  290. (07:26:52) theo: I hope they don't have a lot of development left because that is not a lot of money.
  291. (07:26:53) flesk: Yeah.
  292. (07:27:00) Jenni: I pledged a little too high on that one and ended up hurting myself financially
  293. (07:27:06) Jenni: like I did with Duke Grabowski
  294. (07:27:06) mathias: Yeah dog mendoca looks awesome!
  295. (07:27:20) DrMcCoy: mathias: Well, that story was never one of the famous ones
  296. (07:27:24) Henrik: Love this part of the game
  297. (07:27:25) Sven_Q45: I feel sorry for Agustin. You have to know Agustin. He is such a funny guy!
  298. (07:27:26) Jenni: I really need to take a break from backing Kickstarter projects, or at least learn some self control ;)
  299. (07:27:39) flesk: Could be that you get further on that kind of money in Argentina than in Sweden though.
  300. (07:27:43) flesk: I don't know.
  301. (07:27:44) beansmyname: I like the variety of character models in this game. Helps make the otherworldy environment feel more real.
  302. (07:27:49) DrMcCoy: Mountains of Madness would have pulled in far more from the name alone, I bet
  303. (07:27:55) theo: U guys, Kaonandodos voice actor is a reggae musician from ghana. How cool is that.?
  304. (07:27:56) Cheeseness: Actually, I think Dog Mendonça was pretty safe, I think. Its goal was small enough that it was at a point where it wouldn't fail by halfway through, but it was so slow that it was never going to get much over its goal
  305. (07:27:58) Sven_Q45: @Jenni Long time i pledged one but I backed with much money. :)
  306. (07:27:59) theo: it is ghana, right?
  307. (07:28:01) theo: toddy?
  308. (07:28:10) DrMcCoy: Hell, even the Dreamlands movie had a really hard time getting funding
  309. (07:28:10) mathias: yup, ghana
  310. (07:28:11) flesk: theo: That is very cool.
  311. (07:28:17) mathias: was hanging out with him last night
  312. (07:28:22) Jenni: I love your blog posts showing the real life African masks that inspired the characters
  313. (07:28:25) theo: it is, right. I think it's severly cool. The guy is awesome.
  314. (07:28:26) mathias: recording a reggae concert on nefertiti
  315. (07:28:30) DrMcCoy: In the end, they funded the movie by giving out "shares" to the movie profits
  316. (07:28:46) theo: wow bizarre.
  317. (07:28:53) theo: thanks jenni!
  318. (07:29:03) theo: yeah it's fun to share the roots. we should blog more.
  319. (07:29:05) Jenni: it's actually pretty neat to see how they went from real life to the style of the game (the Bwana progression one is really cool)
  320. (07:29:25) Cheeseness: yeah
  321. (07:29:25) theo: yeah we had to clean his mask up quite a lot to turn it into a real character..
  322. (07:29:37) theo: btw the voice of the bartender is done by kamran nikhad, same guy who voices barlow.
  323. (07:30:00) theo: ..I loved working with him.
  324. (07:30:06) Cheeseness: :D
  325. (07:30:21) theo: So many awesome and talented people who voiced TJD2. We've been damned lucky.
  326. (07:30:29) mathias: Especially, he nailed the trailer narration 100%
  327. (07:30:37) DrMcCoy: Any chance getting Jennifer Hale for part 3? A game without her feels empty ;)
  328. (07:30:40) mathias: Like he could read our minds or something
  329. (07:31:01) theo: It's so awesome when you feel the actor and the actor feels the script and you write it and you KNOW it's gonna fly with that actor because you've got that magic going...
  330. (07:31:21) theo: We had a lot of that magic in TJD2.
  331. (07:31:24) mathias: DrMcCoy: Sure if you don't mind paying $99 for TJD3 ;)
  332. (07:31:55) Fireflower: when's the TJD movie coming out? :)
  333. (07:32:01) Permafry_42: i like the rain effect on the ground
  334. (07:32:01) theo: I always know how bwana, kito and lina are going to sound when they read our lines. That's worth a lot.
  335. (07:32:12) theo: thanks permafry! I worked A LOT on that.
  336. (07:32:21) Sven_Q45: I like that town.
  337. (07:32:24) theo: because I LOVE rain effects. :D
  338. (07:32:27) Cheeseness: theo: Yeah, when you're at that point, it must make writing easier as well
  339. (07:32:40) theo: oh yeah it makes writing soooooooooooo much easier.
  340. (07:32:41) Cheeseness: When you know that they're going to fit with the actors' mannerisms
  341. (07:32:43) Sven_Q45: @theo Rain is good in adv. games.
  342. (07:32:46) Emil_Notiem [Mibbit@hide-EC82403C.ias.bredband.telia.com] entered the room.
  343. (07:32:58) flesk: Yeah, the rain is great. I've heard others mentioning that specifically as well.
  344. (07:33:09) flesk: As a thing they really liked about the game.
  345. (07:33:17) theo: yeah and whats awesome is that had that kind of magic going allover the place here. Same with Ride Reynolds and Moe and Vince. Magic.
  346. (07:33:32) theo: theo is still talking about voices.
  347. (07:33:46) Cheeseness: :)
  348. (07:33:51) mathias: Some characters are actually written _after_ we got the voices. completely redone
  349. (07:33:52) Fhqwhgod left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  350. (07:34:07) theo: yeah the rain made everything hella more complicated but in the end damn it was so worth it for the mood.
  351. (07:34:07) theo: I'm all about the mood. :D
  352. (07:34:30) DrMcCoy: :)
  353. (07:34:40) theo: yeah, we'll largely be writing stuff for TJD3 after casting, rather than before casting.
  354. (07:34:44) flesk: Fire extinguishers make great adventure game props.
  355. (07:34:56) mathias: flesk: they do!
  356. (07:35:03) theo: it used to be a hose
  357. (07:35:09) theo: but hoses make horrible adventure game props
  358. (07:35:14) theo: because they require to interactions.
  359. (07:35:17) theo: two
  360. (07:35:23) mathias: hoses suck (no pun intended)
  361. (07:35:34) theo: huehuehue
  362. (07:35:35) mathias: connect thing with another thing just doesn't really work
  363. (07:35:44) flesk: Yeah.
  364. (07:35:47) theo: it never works
  365. (07:35:51) theo: in any adventure game ever
  366. (07:35:56) flesk: ;)
  367. (07:36:17) Jenni: I don't know, I thought the puzzle to suck out the gas in Full Throttle was pretty clever
  368. (07:36:18) Emanuel left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  369. (07:36:21) theo: Fun fact: Andiswa's actor's voice is actually a lot deeper. We pitched it.
  370. (07:36:23) flesk: There's an extension cord in The Samaritan Paradox.
  371. (07:36:36) Sven_Q45: And the most important adventure itme: A rope!!
  372. (07:36:51) Cheeseness: ALL THE ROPE
  373. (07:36:58) mathias: We actually try to stay away from: rope, stick, key and money
  374. (07:37:10) mathias: but we always end up with keys anyhow..
  375. (07:37:13) DrMcCoy: There's power cord and rope puzzles in Day of the Tentacle
  376. (07:37:13) Sven_Q45: That´s a sin! :D
  377. (07:37:17) Cheeseness: I've got all of those except the key in the adventure game I'm making at the moment :D
  378. (07:37:21) flesk: Did you guys ever get that Swedish bundle idea off the ground with the devs of The Dream Machine and The Samaritan Paradox?
  379. (07:37:30) mathias: they're just so... handy
  380. (07:37:51) Sven_Q45: I played Sam and Max again today. And there is a rope and key!
  381. (07:37:55) DrMcCoy: Ugh, the Dream Machine is Flash...
  382. (07:38:00) theo: well the idea is fine and well but difficult to get anyone to pick it up. Valve certainly won't.
  383. (07:38:11) DrMcCoy: And the dev doesn't know how to wrap that on Linux
  384. (07:38:17) Fireflower: Fireflower might ;)
  385. (07:38:23) flesk: DrMcCoy: Yeah, unfortunately. :(
  386. (07:38:36) mathias: lol now i also got called up by the nord player
  387. (07:38:52) theo: lol I told him to call tomorrow.
  388. (07:38:58) flesk: mathias: Does he call you guys every Saturday?
  389. (07:39:03) Cheeseness: lol
  390. (07:39:10) theo: funny he calls now, it's kinda late for casual Nord calls.
  391. (07:39:25) mathias: i never been been called up before, it was a woman. feels creepy
  392. (07:39:29) Sven_Q45: From backing Kinky Island I got a code (60 or 70%) for The Samaritian Paradox retail! Nice cover.
  393. (07:39:31) theo: I haven't had a Nord call in over a year I think.
  394. (07:39:45) flesk: theo: Maybe it's a formal Nord call? ;)
  395. (07:39:47) Sven_Q45: )
  396. (07:39:50) Henrik: Hmm, i also got a call
  397. (07:39:51) theo: lol
  398. (07:40:02) flesk: Could be looking to acquire the licence.
  399. (07:40:11) Cheeseness: Somebody knows that you're doing Game Club
  400. (07:40:19) mathias: alright, so whats obvious from this DF game club is that Nord is a LOT hotter than TJD :D
  401. (07:40:34) DrMcCoy: Love the music here :)
  402. (07:40:37) Henrik: But i dident answer. Was thinking it was a sales man. lol
  403. (07:40:37) Cheeseness: HAH
  404. (07:40:50) flesk: DF Game Club is just a ruse to get you to consider reviving Nord.
  405. (07:40:55) flesk: Has been from the start.
  406. (07:40:59) mathias: talk about player loyalty :D
  407. (07:41:03) theo: brilliant!
  408. (07:41:09) mathias: flesk: haha i knew it!!
  409. (07:41:12) Henrik: hehe
  410. (07:41:17) Sven_Q45: Nice music!
  411. (07:41:23) Cheeseness: In fact, the Broken Age crowdfunding campaign was orchestrated to get Game Club off the ground for just that reason
  412. (07:41:26) Cheeseness: The music is so good
  413. (07:41:26) Permafry_42: really like the sign design
  414. (07:41:28) Sven_Q45: I like Jazz.
  415. (07:41:37) theo: Its straight No chaser Big Band!
  416. (07:41:45) Cheeseness: lol, such drama
  417. (07:41:47) flesk: Cheeseness: :)
  418. (07:41:47) mathias: damn cheese, you're pulling all the strings!
  419. (07:41:48) Cheeseness: Bwana is so into it
  420. (07:41:55) theo: BARONS GOLD RULES
  421. (07:42:07) theo: NORD RULES
  422. (07:42:16) Henrik: Drama rules
  423. (07:42:19) theo: barons gold was one of our first projects.
  424. (07:42:19) Emil_Notiem left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  425. (07:42:26) Cheeseness: Adventure game protagonists. You can't take them anywhere. They're always breaking stuff
  426. (07:42:28) mathias: (no one gets our subtle in-game references)
  427. (07:42:46) theo: Same guys does both of these voices.
  428. (07:42:55) theo: Joshua Tomar. incredibly talented.
  429. (07:42:56) Fireflower: cool
  430. (07:42:56) mathias: Cheese: But they're also great in fixing things that are broken for unknown reasons!
  431. (07:43:00) theo: Same VO as ride reynolds.
  432. (07:43:13) theo: These were so much fun to write..
  433. (07:43:31) theo: If you dig this vibe, go watch "On the waterfront".
  434. (07:43:34) Cheeseness: mathias: Hah. Everything fixed becomes broken and everything that was broken becomes fixed
  435. (07:43:37) theo: that's where all the lingo here is from.
  436. (07:44:08) theo: what does one do when you run bricks, I wonder.
  437. (07:44:18) mathias: hehe
  438. (07:44:40) mathias: and what's tommy's third leg?
  439. (07:44:53) theo: that's a very good question.
  440. (07:44:57) theo: we should feature him in TJD3!
  441. (07:45:09) mathias: main character
  442. (07:45:21) flesk: Before I forget: Obligatory thanks for supporting Linux!
  443. (07:45:32) Cheeseness: Yeah, thanks for supporting Linux :3
  444. (07:45:48) theo: the linux crowd is so loving. :D
  445. (07:45:53) mathias: thanks everyone in the linux thread on steam for doing ALL customer support!!
  446. (07:46:06) DrMcCoy: lol
  447. (07:46:23) theo: My man reynolds!
  448. (07:46:23) Cheeseness: The Linux crowd is awesome
  449. (07:46:31) Cheeseness: Ha ha, the only time that Bwana seems uncertain
  450. (07:46:34) DrMcCoy: Best character in the game
  451. (07:46:37) mathias: I seriously don't know half the stuff that's going on there, but I've never seen a more helpful community going to lengths to fix eachothers problems.
  452. (07:46:40) theo: If you dig these vibes, go watch some blaxploitation!
  453. (07:47:22) Cheeseness: R is for Ride
  454. (07:47:30) theo: Watch a couple blaxploitation trailers and in no time you will have heard every single word in reynolds vocabulary.
  455. (07:48:00) theo: Show him the pickaxe!
  456. (07:48:19) flesk: Heh. I used to love the Son of Dolemite skits on the Mad TV tv show.
  457. (07:48:25) mathias: hehe best line. ever.
  458. (07:48:44) theo: dolemite is so lolz
  459. (07:48:46) Sven_Q45: Rats! The conversation is over. :(
  460. (07:49:08) theo: I'm totally bummed we never get to see his kung fu.
  461. (07:49:31) Cheeseness: More Reynolds in TJD3!
  462. (07:49:48) Cheeseness: I want an action figure of him with kung fu action
  463. (07:49:55) theo: So did everyone make sure to show the video casette to every single character in the game?
  464. (07:50:11) Jenni: no I didn't
  465. (07:50:17) Jenni: now I have to replay just to see
  466. (07:50:22) theo: it gets nicely awkward.
  467. (07:50:25) DrMcCoy: lol
  468. (07:50:26) Cheeseness: "I'll stick it in my pants" :D
  469. (07:50:28) flesk: I didn't think to do that either.
  470. (07:50:49) mathias: so much stupid dialog, so little time..
  471. (07:50:53) Sven_Q45: I dream of a retial of TJD with all 3 episodes, the soundtrack CD, Bwana as a little figurine and the freeware version.;)
  472. (07:50:55) theo: I'm real proud of how hard we worked on having original replies for pretty much every item on every character.
  473. (07:51:08) theo: nice dream!
  474. (07:51:12) mathias: sven: me too!
  475. (07:51:18) Jenni: that is awesome
  476. (07:51:22) DrMcCoy: Oh, I have one nitpick, though
  477. (07:51:28) DrMcCoy: Adjusting the stupid crane was fiddly
  478. (07:51:46) Cheeseness: Adjusting the lighthouse to shine on the crane?
  479. (07:51:55) Sven_Q45: :)
  480. (07:51:56) DrMcCoy: Yes, that
  481. (07:51:57) Jenni: I did that with my 2 room adventure game I made, and it was no easy task to have different replies for each item
  482. (07:52:11) Cheeseness: How many rooms does TJD2 have?
  483. (07:52:11) flesk: Ah, yeah. Would be nice if there was a bigger margin for error on that one.
  484. (07:52:12) Jenni: and that was only for 2 rooms, so much props to you for that :)
  485. (07:52:20) theo: hhe no, it balloons very fast.
  486. (07:52:28) theo: Hm not sure. probably around 40.
  487. (07:52:33) theo: depending on what you count as a room..
  488. (07:52:57) Emil_Notiem [Mibbit@hide-EC82403C.ias.bredband.telia.com] entered the room.
  489. (07:53:07) theo: technically everything is a room. this is a room.
  490. (07:53:16) Cheeseness: Right
  491. (07:53:22) theo: I love this music.
  492. (07:53:24) Henrik: 25 min of cut-scens
  493. (07:53:40) theo: I dunno if you noticed but this jingle plays everytime it gets mysterious.
  494. (07:53:44) flesk: And there are positions of the lighthouse that make it look like the crane is lit up without being the correct solution.
  495. (07:53:45) theo: its our "mysteryjingle"
  496. (07:54:01) DrMcCoy: flesk: Yes, exactly, that was annoying
  497. (07:54:13) Emil_Notiem: Seconded
  498. (07:54:17) theo: yeah probably could have polished that a little bit better.
  499. (07:54:23) Cheeseness: Yeah
  500. (07:54:24) mathias: my mad..
  501. (07:54:32) theo: maybe in the platinum patch. :D
  502. (07:54:35) DrMcCoy: Oh, and there should have been unique replies for calling random phonebook numbers ;)
  503. (07:54:39) Cheeseness: I can't be upset - I didn't mention it during testing, I don't think >_>
  504. (07:54:40) flesk: Or the Lighthouse DLC?
  505. (07:54:48) theo: guys for your info the original version of the lighthouse aiming puzzle was A LOT more convoluted and weird.
  506. (07:55:20) flesk: theo: Did it involve a cat and a fence?
  507. (07:55:27) mathias: lol
  508. (07:55:56) mathias: Truth is, I was pushing for having zero feedback on the lighthouse, to make it more "challenging"
  509. (07:55:58) Petads [Mibbit@hide-D1B78778.customer.t3.se] entered the room.
  510. (07:56:04) Emil_Notiem: Regarding that, how much time for testing with people that wasnt familiar with the games did you do?
  511. (07:56:06) mathias: and the only clue would be the map in the city hll
  512. (07:56:26) theo: Elsa Mcigbo is voiced by Marianne Miller, wife of Martin Billany, voice of Morten. :)
  513. (07:57:00) mathias: We do enormous amounts of testing. that's what makes it good in the end to be honest.
  514. (07:57:06) theo: We had monthly builds with fresh players in mathias' couch. Always couples. We sat behind them.
  515. (07:57:20) Syd: Time for a cinematic
  516. (07:57:23) theo: we did that for like... six months.
  517. (07:57:26) Emil_Notiem: Creepy :)
  518. (07:57:31) theo: oh movie time!
  519. (07:57:35) theo: I know its freaky
  520. (07:57:37) mathias: We only have ideas on what's good, we have real players explain to us what works.
  521. (07:57:48) Jenni left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  522. (07:57:50) theo: it's all about testing.
  523. (07:57:53) Cheeseness: For someone who's precious about his car, he seemed happy to have parked it up on the curb
  524. (07:58:00) Sven_Q45: Grim Fandango feeling. Yeah!
  525. (07:58:03) Jenni [Mibbit@hide-C1453BD0.stny.res.rr.com] entered the room.
  526. (07:58:06) theo: I loved working on this clip
  527. (07:58:14) Petads: I must say, really love this game! Especially the music :)
  528. (07:58:21) Cheeseness: :D
  529. (07:58:21) mathias: thanks!
  530. (07:58:23) flesk: Reminds me of Persepolis.
  531. (07:58:36) theo: Simon wrote the music for this based on some really shitty sketches I made, and passed away before I got to show him the final film.
  532. (07:58:37) Cheeseness: Welcome, Petads
  533. (07:59:16) theo: The goal of this movie was to with simple tricks, make the game feel larger.
  534. (07:59:25) mathias: This is area, charnel road, was one of the last areas to get fixed up with proper graphics.
  535. (07:59:32) Cheeseness: Yeah
  536. (07:59:36) mathias: Perhaps cheese remembers seeing it way differently
  537. (07:59:42) Cheeseness: It was a bit more scribbly
  538. (07:59:54) Henrik: I think we still have a bug so bwana can walk up side down on the crane
  539. (07:59:59) theo: I look at it and see old assets, huehue.
  540. (08:00:10) mathias: Yeah i know.. It's patched but not uploaded.
  541. (08:00:25) Henrik: ^^
  542. (08:00:43) theo: I wrapped charnel road up from my grandmothers porch in massachusetts, and sent the assets via starbucks wifi.
  543. (08:00:59) Cheeseness: Bwana's dream from this point forward is to melt something
  544. (08:01:13) theo: I wanna melt stuff too!
  545. (08:01:51) Cheeseness: Aren't there some lines where he's sad about it not working if you don't do it right
  546. (08:02:47) Permafry_42: Oh yeah to the developer do you know why some of the backgrounds are only partially drawn in?
  547. (08:02:58) DrMcCoy: That reminds me, part 3 needs more places where other characters react to Bwana's "That's a $THING" exclamations :P
  548. (08:03:06) theo: I spent wayyyy to much time making that fence bend.
  549. (08:03:12) Emil_Notiem left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  550. (08:03:21) DrMcCoy: The "That's the main mast" joke was my favourite one in Tales of Monkey Island :P
  551. (08:03:31) Petads left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  552. (08:03:57) Sven_Q45: Today I recieved the second part of my Broken Sword 5 reward. Better than I thought. I love the Templars key pendant ring. :)
  553. (08:04:06) Fireflower: they look a bit like storm troopers :)
  554. (08:04:15) Jenni: Heh, characters responding to inventory items is always fun
  555. (08:04:22) Cheeseness: They look slighty like Ripp Burger from Full Throttle too
  556. (08:04:28) DrMcCoy: The end of Broken Sword 5 was...weird
  557. (08:04:30) Sven_Q45: @Jenni Yes!
  558. (08:04:34) theo: Permafry: partially drawn in? Some stuff looks kinda sketchy because of time limits. Which is one of the reasons we're patching it. :)
  559. (08:04:42) Jenni: I liked how in Escape from Monkey Island characters would respond to Guybrush looking at the items in his pants :P
  560. (08:04:46) theo: Rip burger ripoffs they are!
  561. (08:04:46) flesk: Cheeseness: Yeah, they do.
  562. (08:04:54) Cheeseness: Woo \o/
  563. (08:04:55) Sven_Q45: Yes. but finally BS 5 was in 2D again. :)
  564. (08:05:06) theo: ripburger is def one of my fav baddies in video game history
  565. (08:05:13) Cheeseness: Those guys were green stick figures in th elast build I played :D
  566. (08:05:14) Permafry_42: ah that's good
  567. (08:05:15) Sven_Q45: @Jenni Dito once again. ;)
  568. (08:05:24) DrMcCoy: Jenni: :)
  569. (08:05:28) Henrik left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  570. (08:05:49) GameClubFan_306098 [Mibbit@hide-275B75E3.cust.bredbandsbolaget.se] entered the room.
  571. (08:06:03) Sven_Q45: 2D adventure games are the best!!
  572. (08:06:17) Fireflower: i agree Sven
  573. (08:06:21) GameClubFan_306098 left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  574. (08:06:25) GameClubFan_306098 [Mibbit@hide-D135CA97.bredband.tre.se] entered the room.
  575. (08:06:25) GameClubFan_306098 left the room (quit: Quit: GameClubFan_306098).
  576. (08:06:26) theo: agreed!
  577. (08:06:32) Syd: I like the old noisy computer boot-up sound. :P
  578. (08:06:42) theo: Click on Lina!
  579. (08:06:44) theo: Click on Lina!
  580. (08:06:47) theo: Click on Lina!
  581. (08:06:50) Syd: Heh, okay!
  582. (08:06:52) Henrik [Mibbit@2E75196C.C143EE73.EDF7440D.IP] entered the room.
  583. (08:06:53) Cheeseness: :D
  584. (08:07:01) Sven_Q45: I mean I started with Goblins 3, Andromedas Erbe 2 and Dott. And Dott is my alltime fav!
  585. (08:07:03) Syd: Just remember that there's about 30 seconds of lag from the time I do something to when you see it. :P
  586. (08:07:13) theo: heh ok
  587. (08:07:20) DrMcCoy: How are the file drawers hooked up, btw?
  588. (08:07:29) DrMcCoy: Does a specific drawer give you a specific report?
  589. (08:07:35) Cheeseness: I FOUND IT!
  590. (08:07:41) theo: no it's just a list of reports.
  591. (08:07:46) flesk: Sven_Q45: I don't think I've even heard of Andromedas Erbe. German game?
  592. (08:07:48) theo: list of nteractions, rather.
  593. (08:08:01) theo: lol I love that line
  594. (08:08:10) theo: these are dialogues that no one ever sees.
  595. (08:08:12) Sven_Q45: @flesk Yes.
  596. (08:08:20) DrMcCoy: theo: So you can open the drawers in random order and always get the same order of dialogue?
  597. (08:08:22) theo: because everone ignores talking to lina here.
  598. (08:08:28) theo: yes drmccoy
  599. (08:08:46) Cheeseness: I did it during testing :D
  600. (08:08:57) theo: it is... an ILLUSION!
  601. (08:09:10) DrMcCoy: Good, I was afraid I'd miss something if I went in the wrong order and triggered the final one first
  602. (08:09:14) theo: Clues need to be delivered in the right order or they wont make sense.
  603. (08:09:42) Sven_Q45: @flesk I didn´t find a retail of it yet. You had to registrate back then. You can download it today.
  604. (08:09:42) theo: I had hoped to let bwana actually hold nespapers and stuff when talking here but we had to cut that.
  605. (08:09:58) Syd: The keypad puzzle coming up is one of those trial-and-error ones where you find the correct numbers by paying attention to the lights... but I already know the solution so I won't bother with that, heh.
  606. (08:10:09) DrMcCoy: The keypad puzzle is Mastermind
  607. (08:10:32) DrMcCoy: Who was responsible for going with Mastermind, btw? That's so cliché :P
  608. (08:10:32) Syd: Could have forced the players to do the puzzle even with a guide if the numbers were randomized, though. :P
  609. (08:11:08) Sven_Q45: I like how Bwana says "bay" :D
  610. (08:11:14) theo: That's Mathias' fault! But I'm real happy with how it turned out. It apparently makes everyone feel smart. And that's good.
  611. (08:11:36) DrMcCoy: :D
  612. (08:11:40) mathias: I blame Kask (common friend)
  613. (08:12:07) Syd: Lucky Bwana, getting the code on his first try. ;)
  614. (08:12:15) theo: wow this room takes forever if you dont just powerclick thru all the conversations.
  615. (08:12:18) DrMcCoy: cheater ;)
  616. (08:12:23) Syd: I'll be stopping this week's session after this cutscene ends.
  617. (08:12:30) Syd: and we'll finish up next week!
  618. (08:12:31) theo: sounds good!
  619. (08:12:36) DrMcCoy: :(
  620. (08:12:44) theo: hey gotta save some!
  621. (08:13:18) theo: My mind is blown by the fact that we pulled all these movies off. It is SO MUCH animation.
  622. (08:13:19) flesk: That's a mighty good catch.
  623. (08:13:30) Cheeseness: Yeah. And a slightly familiar looking claw
  624. (08:13:45) theo: where's it from?
  625. (08:14:07) mathias: Don't worry, we'll have stupid amounts of animation in TJD3 too! :D
  626. (08:14:13) Cheeseness: It's a very similar shape to the claw that grabbed the car earlier
  627. (08:14:17) mathias: (henrik's not listening, right?)
  628. (08:14:18) Cheeseness: (and the one that grabs the plane?)
  629. (08:14:23) Henrik: im here
  630. (08:14:33) Henrik: Listening on the dialog
  631. (08:14:35) Sven_Q45: voodoolady and the guards are like from Grim Fandango. :)
  632. (08:14:45) Glog78 [~Oknown_an@hide-AB803C3E.pools.vodafone-ip.de] entered the room.
  633. (08:15:05) mathias: voodoo lady in GF?
  634. (08:15:08) DrMcCoy: The flag and emblem actually reminded me of Klingons :P
  635. (08:15:39) flesk: How long does it typically take to make one such animated scene?
  636. (08:15:52) flesk: Days, weeks?
  637. (08:15:53) theo: Fun Fact: In an earlier version of the TJD2 script, Bwana and Lina perform the Temba heist TOGETHER with the Sisulu pirates, rather than before them.
  638. (08:16:09) Syd: Alright, that's it for this week. Be sure to join us next week for the finale!
  639. (08:16:13) Jenni: it would have been quite different that way
  640. (08:16:16) theo: totally different with different scenes.
  641. (08:16:16) Cheeseness: Woo
  642. (08:16:20) Henrik: Its depends on how complex the scene is
  643. (08:16:21) flesk: Thanks for streaming, Syd.
  644. (08:16:22) Cheeseness: Thanks heaps to everybody who joined us today!
  645. (08:16:25) mathias: Fun times, thanks cheese!
  646. (08:16:26) Syd: Let me know when the outro ends so I can safely end the stream
  647. (08:16:30) theo: Thanks Syd!
  648. (08:16:30) Henrik: We do all animation in steps
  649. (08:16:32) Cheeseness: People are always welcome to hang around and continue chatting
  650. (08:16:36) Sven_Q45: No Voodoolady from Monkey Island. ;)
  651. (08:16:46) Cheeseness: As always, leave some thoughts on the game here http://www.doublefine.com/forums/viewthread/15304/
  652. (08:16:47) Syd: Thanks to everyone that joined us!
  653. (08:16:50) mathias: Sven: I thought so hehe
  654. (08:16:53) beansmyname: We're clear Syd!
  655. (08:16:58) Henrik: Thanks
  656. (08:17:07) mathias: Nice talking with you all!
  657. (08:17:10) theo: Jenni: yeah it would have been radically different.
  658. (08:17:18) DrMcCoy: Ooooh
  659. (08:17:18) DrMcCoy: Another nitpick
  660. (08:17:18) DrMcCoy: Way too few save slots
  661. (08:17:18) DrMcCoy: In fact, you shouldn't limit the number of save slots at all
  662. (08:17:18) DrMcCoy: I'm a compulsive saver, I save like every 5 minutes. And I like to collect hundreds of individual saves
  663. (08:17:22) Sven_Q45: Nice talking to YOU. :)
  664. (08:17:24) Fireflower: i like the style and atmosphere of this game.
  665. (08:17:24) mathias: Thanks cheese for inviting us and thanks for the help during beta testing!
  666. (08:17:29) Cheeseness: My pleasure!
  667. (08:17:29) mathias: And thanks flesk for your help
  668. (08:17:30) Fireflower: gotta go, thanks guys. cya
  669. (08:17:40) theo: ciao fireflower!
  670. (08:17:44) mathias: Thanks JENNI for being an old nord player!
  671. (08:17:50) theo: yeah big thanks to cheese for the invitation.
  672. (08:17:52) flesk: mathias: What help?
  673. (08:17:54) Jenni: :)
  674. (08:18:01) mathias: flesk: on the forums
  675. (08:18:04) flesk: Thanks for joining us devs.
  676. (08:18:12) Cheeseness: :D
  677. (08:18:12) beansmyname: Thanks syd for streaming. Thanks devs for joining!
  678. (08:18:14) Fireflower left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  679. (08:18:23) flesk: mathias: In the discussion about the price?
  680. (08:18:27) Cheeseness: Everybody's thanking everybody. So much love ^_^
  681. (08:18:27) beansmyname left the room (gone baby gone).
  682. (08:18:29) Henrik: Thanks for streaming the game :D
  683. (08:18:31) Cheeseness: Thanks Cheese. you're the best!
  684. (08:18:40) Jenni: I like Cheese
  685. (08:18:45) Cheeseness: Woo \o/
  686. (08:18:47) theo: wow people are always manic about save slots... even in hyperlinear games like tjd. we should take notice.
  687. (08:18:54) Jenni: I like Cheeseness too, but I really like cheese
  688. (08:18:55) mathias: I'm off, see you all on the interwebs!
  689. (08:19:02) Cheeseness: Thanks again mathias!
  690. (08:19:02) Jenni: See ya mathias
  691. (08:19:03) theo: ses toddy
  692. (08:19:04) flesk: No problem then. Thanks for making a great game. :)
  693. (08:19:05) mathias left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  694. (08:19:14) Syd: I gotta head out as well. See you all around!
  695. (08:19:22) Syd left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  696. (08:19:23) flesk: Yeah, unlimited save slots are always nice.
  697. (08:19:29) Sven_Q45: I like cheeseness but I don´t like cheese. :P
  698. (08:19:33) theo: I'll hang around a couple more minutes if anyone has any questions or whatever.
  699. (08:19:40) theo: easier to answer stuff with less flow.
  700. (08:19:43) Glog78: what already end ?
  701. (08:19:47) Cheeseness: You mean if anybody wants to talk about Nord
  702. (08:19:49) Jenni: My love of cheese actually got me a free copy of Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures in a contest once
  703. (08:19:51) ***Glog78 is too late
  704. (08:19:54) Cheeseness: Glog78: Yeah. We started an hour and 20 minutes ago :(
  705. (08:20:02) theo: lol yes let's talk about nord
  706. (08:20:12) Glog78: :( goes to the corner cries
  707. (08:20:16) flesk: Used to bug me that AGS games only had 12 (I think). I don't think that limit is there in the latest versions of the engine. (I'm not saying this game is AGS though. I know it's not.)
  708. (08:20:22) theo: don't tell mathias and henrik but I did some sketching on a Nord spinoff today.
  709. (08:20:25) Cheeseness: Glog78: Theo and Henrik are still here!
  710. (08:20:30) Sven_Q45: No. Let´s talk about retail... *whistle*
  711. (08:20:35) theo: NOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooo
  712. (08:20:38) theo: lol
  713. (08:20:50) theo: Remind me about retail post TJD3.
  714. (08:21:04) theo: We've got too many things going right now. Gotta focus. :D
  715. (08:21:15) Jenni: A Nord spinoff, eh?
  716. (08:21:21) Permafry_42: hey sorry for not paying attention during some of it due to other stuff distracting me. Thanks syd for streaming!
  717. (08:21:26) theo: hehe well it's just sketches. I do a lot of sketching.
  718. (08:21:29) flesk: Jenni: Don't let Mim hear about your love of Cheese.
  719. (08:21:31) Glog78: :)
  720. (08:21:43) Jenni: heh
  721. (08:21:48) theo: for those curious, Henrik is the animator.
  722. (08:21:48) Glog78: HI Jenni
  723. (08:21:54) theo: And mathias writes code, and dialogue.
  724. (08:22:03) theo: I do art, and story, and dialogue.
  725. (08:22:08) Glog78: so to don't keep you longer thanx for the experience with Journey down
  726. (08:22:09) DocMcCoy [drmccoy@hide-3E11AC37.host.mroot.net] entered the room.
  727. (08:22:13) DocMcCoy: Gah
  728. (08:22:19) flesk: theo: I love seeing the sketches you share on Twitter.
  729. (08:22:38) theo: :) I'll share more as I draw more.
  730. (08:22:43) DocMcCoy: Dammit
  731. (08:22:52) flesk: theo: Awesome. :)
  732. (08:22:54) Sven_Q45: I hope the chat log comes up.
  733. (08:22:55) theo: Most of the time I do incomprehensible sketching though that no one but me understands.
  734. (08:23:03) theo: I don't share that stuff.
  735. (08:23:05) Sven_Q45: lol

  739. (08:23:54) theo: If I look at said sketches a year later I seldom have no chance seeing what I've drawn. But if I look at them five minutes after drawing them I see them clearly. it's weird. There's so much hidden between the pencilstrokes.
