  1. UPDATE: JP is still the fastest version for any%, as a setup has been discovered which allows Yoshi to eat fruit through the wall to turn orange. Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dX60ORh7DJg

  11.
  12. How much time does this save?
  13. -Roughly 50 seconds with good execution and good RNG. In TAS, it saves 1:05 or more.
  14.
  15. Won't this skip Pinna 3 and 4 as well?
  16. -Pinna 1-4 must be completed first. Yoshi is not in Pinna 2 unless you beat Pinna 4.
  17.
  18. Does this work on all versions?
  19. -Theoretically, it works on all versions. However, Fruit Storage does not work on NTSC-J and therefore the trick has a different setup for NTSC-J. JP is still theoretically the fastest version for Any%.
  20.
  21. How do you float in the air spinning like that?
  22. -It's a property of the invisible wall.
  23.
  24. What's Fruit Storage?
  25. -Eating a fruit and then dismounting before it reaches Yoshi's mouth will store the fruit. This trick only works on NTSC-U and PAL.
  26.
  27. Why do we need Fruit Storage?
  28. -The platform will only move towards the carousel if you spray the rocket while Yoshi is purple, but you need the orange Yoshi to get into the secret. Therefore, we store either a Pineapple or a Papaya.
  29.
  30. What's with the Purple Rockets?
  31. -All the rockets will turn into platforms. However, the rocket must be pointing at the Merry Go-Round in order to clip through the barrier and make it to the Merry Go-Round.
  32.
  33. What's Limbo?
  34. -The area between the barrier and the Merry Go-Round. If you are not riding a platform or standing on the Merry Go-Round, then you will either get stuck in the air (Softlock requiring a reset) or zip very very very far under Pinna (You can pause and exit area).
  35.
  36. What causes the zips? (Clipping way under Pinna)
  37. -As far as we can tell, it happens when the platform disappears while still standing on it.
  38.
  39. What happens if you exit area once you're in the secret? Does that unlock Pinna 7?
  40. -Nothing. No.
  41.
  42. Who found the trick?
  43. -The Group of Good People.
  44. -It was unknown if the loading zone for Pinna 6 existed in other levels. SidedWilliams had the idea to double check, and ClaytonSMS actually found that it existed. Several top runners came together to immediately find a way through the Limbo area. Kaffelon thought of using the Rockets in Pinna 2 as platforms, and Kinikola was the first to execute the skip on console on July 13th, 2015.
  45.
  46. WHAT IS IT CALLED?
  47. -The trick is called Early Yoshi Go-Round (EYG) or Early Merry Go-Round (EMG). Others will simply call it Pinna 5 Skip. The trick was discovered two days after Satoru Iwata's passing, so some have affectionately called it Iwata Skip. Popular opinion poll here http://strawpoll.me/4914764/r
