We are contacting you to provide advance notification of a critical vulnerability that will require you to patch and reboot your versions of Windows operating systems.  We anticipate that relevant patches to address this vulnerability will be available from Microsoft on Tuesday, October 14, 2014.
Until the patch is available, no additional action on your part is required.  A reboot of your operating system will be required to make this patch effective.  We are providing advance notice so you can create a plan of action and schedule patching and rebooting accordingly.  Rackspace will not automatically reboot customer systems.  More instructions regarding your options for patching will be provided tomorrow.
We do not have any additional information to report at this time.  Once again, no action on your part is required until the patch is available.  We will provide an update by Tuesday 1:00pm CT (6:00pm UTC, 7:00pm BST, and Wednesday, October 15 at 4:00am AEDT and 2:00am HKT) via email, ticket and the Rackspace Community.
