1. This is more of a rant post than a post trying to prove that the RH Law shouldn’t be accepted. I don’t even know why I’m commenting but I really hate the way you presented your opinion.
2.
3. First, don’t go saying that the church should be able to help in deciding what the government should do with this country. The ancient Roman Catholic were under the government. They didn’t control people’s minds nor control the government’s decisions. True, this country is democratic which should allow everyone to express their opinions but the people should show their opinions as Filipinos, not as catholics or christians or whatever their pastors told them to do. Ever heard of the line “That’s what the government wants you to think.”? I think that truly applies to the Church as well.
4.
5. The next thing I’d like to point out is your statement
6. “They observed that rich and developed countries have low population or that their fertility rates are below the replacement rate of 2.1, then, they crudely concluded that economic growth follows population decline.”
7. Who told you that a low population makes a country developed? Ever heard of China? Now let me tell you, economic stability and growth isn’t measured only by it’s population, but by dividing the country’s GDP by it’s population. Now compare. Get the Philippines’ GDP here > https://www.google.com.ph/publicdata/explore?ds=d5bncppjof8f9_&met_y=sp_pop_totl&hl=en&dl=en&idim=country:PHL:THA#!ctype=l&strail=false&bcs=d&nselm=h&met_y=ny_gdp_mktp_cd&scale_y=lin&ind_y=false&rdim=region&idim=country:JPN:PHL:RUS:USA:GBR:ARG:CAN:CHN:DEU&ifdim=region&tstart=-285753600000&tend=1355241600000&hl=en_US&dl=en&ind=false then check the population here > https://www.google.com.ph/publicdata/explore?ds=d5bncppjof8f9_&met_y=sp_pop_totl&hl=en&dl=en&idim=country:PHL:THA#!ctype=l&strail=false&bcs=d&nselm=h&met_y=sp_pop_totl&scale_y=lin&ind_y=false&rdim=region&idim=country:JPN:PHL:RUS:USA:GBR:ARG:CAN:CHN:DEU&ifdim=region&tstart=-285753600000&tend=1355241600000&hl=en_US&dl=en&ind=false
8. Go ahead and view all the countries’ data and prove to yourself with factual data that the Philippines is in fact undeveloped economically, if compared to other countries which we could actually consider developed.
9.
10. Also, “But here’s one thing that many UP economists and intellectuals do not understand. Singapore, which is the world’s freest economy, started its free market reforms with “very minimal welfare”. It did not achieve economic growth by curbing its population, as what many UP economists and intellectuals like Balisacan have repeatedly argued to support/defend their neo-Malthusian, highly mediocre, anti-intellectual politico-economic policies.” By the way, I just want to tell you that Singapore really has a low population initially. They didn’t have to decrease their population. And how about we compare their population and GDP with ours? The Philippines’ population in 2012 is 96.7 million while Singapore’s population in the same year is 5.31 million. The Philippines’ GDP for 2012 is 250.26 billion dollars while Singapore’s GDP in the same year is 274.70 billion dollars. Now, using the equation I gave you, compare the two values.
11.
12. Stop blaming Balisacan and UP economists for things they didn’t even do. And how about you go reeducate yourself on economics and marketing before spending too much time ranting about false data on your blog? Don’t call people idiots unless you really know what you’re talking about. This blog post is full of rants without even a single evidence of claims you were trying to make.
13.
14. I even think that replying here partly makes me an idiot for trying to show someone like you, who doesn’t sound like you’re even willing to accept any other people’s opinion, my own opinion on this matter. I could make a post as long as yours explaining how wrong you and your fixed opinions are. But then again, I won’t waste time on irrelevant things like these as I know that people like you won’t even try to see what’s correct about my statement.
