  1. [17:59:31] <%Somber> The guards had been dispatched, and how the prisoners in the cells begged the six to release them so they could finish off the officers upstairs. The fury and pleading etched in their faces is unmistable as the wounded, scared, and angry ponies begged them to be released. "Help us! Free us!" Was paired with, "Kill those fuckers!" and "Let us out or you're
  2. [18:00:27] <%Somber> next!" Aria's pipbuck crackled softly and the old rasping voice said. "Quite a predicament, isn't it? Keep them locked up... leave em to die... let em loose and let em kill... decisions decisions..."
  3. [18:02:33] Aria looks around at the chaos. "We should discuss our options somewhere else... Preferably not where a mob might rip our heads off."
  4. [18:05:02] Tiller points at the stairs. "If we decide to free them, we can do it from the warden's office."
  5. [18:06:25] Red_Line looks to the ponies in the cells "If ya'll just wait here, we'll see what we can do for you."
  6. [18:08:24] <%Somber> But there were too many, and they were angry and hurt and scared and desperate. Some were getting crushed against the bars as the others behind them shoved forward, begging them to be set free. "Don't let us die in here!" "My kids! Where are my kids! I need to find them!"
  7. [18:08:48] <%Somber> "Gonna kill ALL you motherfuckers!"
  8. [18:10:25] Star_Chaser groans and rubs her face with a forehoof. "We can't just leave them here. But letting them run all over this place would be worse. Probably get most of themselves shot." She sighs quietly. "Do we even have a way to open the doors from down here?"
  9. [18:10:53] Tiller "If we open those doors right now, we will all die. There's no controlling a mob."
  10. [18:10:59] <%Somber> There were levers to release the prisoners inside the Jail central control, where you are at now.
  11. [18:11:06] Red_Line glances over to the others "I don't think we can keep them locked up like this. But if we let them go, they will kill all the cops."
  12. [18:11:32] <%Somber> "So... what's the right thing to do?" The old pony rasps over Aria's Pipbuck.
  13. [18:12:12] Skyshine frowns at Aria's pipbuck. "There isn't a right thing to do. THere's a damned if you do, damned if you don't thing to do."
  14. [18:12:47] Star_Chaser rolls her eyes. "Leave 'em there until morning, then let them out. If they're trying to escape they can't do it while that purple crap's in the air anyway. And that way they'll be out of our way while we deal with the psychopaths upstairs." She snorts. "When you can't win, choose not to play."
  15. [18:12:55] Aria stops, closing her eyes. "There's only one thing to do. It's too dangerous to let them out right now, but if we can stop whatever's causing this and get everypony back to normal, then we can let them out," she whispers so the prisoners don't hear her, but the voice and her friends do.
  16. [18:13:15] <%Somber> "So then there's no reason for evil?" the old pony rasps.
  17. [18:14:17] Aria glares at her Pipbuck. "These ponies are probably stuck in whatever role that thing put them in. They're not in control of their actions. You showed us that when you made us realize it wasn't an illusion."
  18. [18:15:24] Red_Line thinks for a bit "What if we get to the stairs and flick the lever from there and make our way up with a sheild up or what ever. That way at lest we let them out."
  19. [18:15:49] <%Somber> "They are absolutely in control." the old pony rasped. "This is exactly as it happened."
  20. [18:16:03] Skyshine twitches her ear. "Evil is usually rather unremarkable. It is always pony, and it shares our bed and eats at our tables. What we do try to change that is what makes the difference."
  21. [18:16:27] <%Somber> "So what... now... will make the difference?"
  22. [18:16:42] Red_Line blinks "As it happened? So this is how it plays out."
  23. [18:16:44] Tiller puffs. "We have to release them. Consigning them all to starve to death together, or worse, is the greater evil."
  24. [18:16:50] Star_Chaser spits at the floor. "That's a stupid question. There's lots of reasons people are horrible to one another. In this case, because their leader is more interested in proping herself up as a ruler." She snorts in irritation. "Nothing. There's no good solution. Because that's what this place is. What it does. What it's always done, since we arrived."
  25. [18:17:08] <%Somber> "Since you arrived?"
  26. [18:17:31] Star_Chaser frowns. "Well, to us since we arrived. I imagine it's been doing it since long before that. But I wasn't here. So that's a little tough to answer, isn't it?"
  27. [18:17:58] Aria blinks. "Wait. Are you trying to tell us that this thing isn't just making ponies think it's the past, it's transporting us? That's impossible."
  28. [18:19:07] Skyshine looks at Aria. "You do magic from your horn, and you're saying time travel is impossible?" she deadpans.
  29. [18:19:27] <%Somber> "Quite so. That is impossible. Never the less, this is exactly as it happened. The prisoners were rioting, threatening to break free. The officers were ordered to put them down. They did. A squad returned and stopped them. Now, I'm curious what you'll do. The same as them, or different from them."
  30. [18:19:46] <%Somber> They started to.
  31. [18:19:53] Star_Chaser rubs her face. "No. He's saying this place makes ponies WANT to act that way. It drives them to be the things that it wants them to be. Like it's been with us. Poke, prod, test, measure, check, recheck. Figure us all out, what makes us work and think and tick. Then, when it's good and ready, knows precisely what it's doing, it can make you act however it likes. Doesn't
  32. [18:19:53] Star_Chaser even need to 'take you over'."
  33. [18:20:18] <@Star_Chaser> "It has its own story of what's going on in this place. So everything keeps rolling the way it should."
  34. [18:20:48] <%Somber> "Incorrect Star. You and your friends are exempt from this place's... simulations. Courtesy me."
  35. [18:21:02] Red_Line looks around for a table or some thing big enough to block the stairway
  36. [18:21:52] <%Somber> "For now, you and your friends are the incongruent perspective." the old stallion rasped. There was a large table, but it seemed pretty flimsy. The file cabnets were sturdier, but there wasn't much they could put up that a mob couldn't break down.
  37. [18:22:18] Aria sighs. "We should take care of the current threat, the chief, and then come back to them. They won't starve to death in a few minutes."
  38. [18:22:35] Tiller nods. "Sounds good to me, Aria."
  39. [18:22:45] Skyshine looks thoughtfully down at Aria's pipbuck. "Are you saying that this place is trying to figure out what went wrong?"
  40. [18:22:57] Star_Chaser grumbles. "They'll probably have murdered eachother in some fit of self-destructive belief they'll never get out." She sighs. "But you're right, we should take care of the leader first."
  41. [18:24:09] <%Somber> "Not what. Why."
  42. [18:24:18] Aria looks back and calls down to the cell block. "We'll be right back. We're going to take care of the chief and make sure she get's what she deserves for doing this. She's got the lockdown code anyway."
  43. [18:24:55] Red_Line looks to the door we came in "What if we let them out out? As in outside."
  44. [18:25:01] <%Somber> "Just pull the lever!" One shouted. "The controls should be in there!" "Ow, my leg! You broke my leg!"
  45. [18:25:14] <%Somber> "Help us. Please! Help us!"
  46. [18:25:51] Star_Chaser shakes her head to Red Line. "Can't do that right now. The purple mist is out there, right now, remember? They'd all end up dead from exposure if we let them out right now."
  47. [18:26:19] Tiller is suddenly nervous. "Maybe we should let them out now. Right now."
  48. [18:26:51] Skyshine puts a hoof on Aria's shoulder. "I think we need to try something different. We always go in, guns blazing, but that hasn't fixed anything. It's only put blood on our hooves and on our hearts. We need to reason with them... even... even if it seems impossible."
  49. [18:27:20] Red_Line looks to the lever
  50. [18:27:37] Aria looks at Skyshine softly. "Maybe your right... Gung ho didn't work for me last time..." She looks down at her hooves, ashamed.
  51. [18:27:43] <%Somber> The screams and yells get even more desperate as they start hammering on the bars. The repeated slams were slowly busting the steel out of the concrete.
  52. [18:27:47] Tiller takes a faltering step or two towards the lever, looking over his shoulder to see if anyone is trying to stop him.
  53. [18:28:24] Star_Chaser sighs quietly. "We should blockade the door up in here in any case. I don't want to get run over by an angry mob bent on revenge."
  54. [18:29:09] Aria sighs. "You guys move the barricade into place, I'll pull the lever from up here when we're ready.
  55. [18:31:58] Red_Line stands in front of the cells "Look, y'all need to get back. We'er getting you out. So stop shoving each other."
  56. [18:36:48] Skyshine stands next to Red Line. "We're going to let everyone out. Please everypony, just wait a moment and don't shove. It'll be alright, I promise." She says, trying to channel what she hopes is Fluttershy as much as she can.
  57. [18:37:31] <%Somber> IT seems to work. They calm down and back off enough that they can get the doors open, if they want. Things are still tense though.
  58. [18:38:05] Tiller nods at the levers. "Shall I?"
  59. [18:38:26] Skyshine lets out a soft breath. "Alright everyone, now I don't want you to shove and push. Let's all be kind to one another, ok?" She looks to Tiller and nods.
  60. [18:39:02] Aria looks to make sure everypony's ready to run to cover. "Ready to run to cover?" she asks, also preparing herself to cast a shield around the party.
  61. [18:39:12] Red_Line stands in front of Skyshine in th hope they don't try to rush her
  62. [18:40:00] Tiller throws the lever.
  63. [18:41:22] Star_Chaser sighs quietly and rubs her face. This was such a bad idea.
  64. [18:42:20] <%Somber> The doors clank open and two dozen ponies rush out, past the five of them and up the stairs. Two dozen more remain behind, crying and weeping, injured and upset but staying put for now. A half dozen are dead, and would have been far more if they hadn't stopped them.
  65. [18:43:48] Tiller watches them run past. He doesn't particularly feel like stopping them from doing whatever they're planning to do.
  66. [18:43:56] Red_Line lowers his head "Well that whent better than I hoped."
  67. [18:44:51] Skyshine very hesitantly steps around Red Line, looking toward the ponies that stayed and mentally cursing their lack of medical supplies. She sits down on her haunches next to a crying pony and gently extends a hoof. "It'll be alright. I'm sorry we were late..."
  68. [18:45:08] <%Somber> "Indeed," rasps the old stallion. There were shouts, gunshots, and screams from above. "This happened a hundred different places all across Equestria when the bombs fell. Riots. Scarcity. Disorder. Chaos. Death...."
  69. [18:50:05] <%Somber> "Why is it that you made this choice, when those 'civilized' ponies left them in their cages to die horribly?" the old stallion asked with a dry chuckle.
  70. [18:50:39] Skyshine busies herself trying to calm those she can. "Of course it did. Everypony was scared. Everypony lost somepony they loved. No one knew what to do. But, doing the right thing... letting everyone have a chance... being better.... Giving hope for a future, that's the right hting to do."
  71. [18:50:53] Aria looks down. "Was any choice the right choice? They still ran up stairs to get their revenge and are probably dying up there."
  72. [18:51:54] <%Somber> "You saved some rather than killed all. If it's not right, I'd say that it was the better choice." the old stallion said with a laugh.
  73. [18:52:38] Tiller spits. "Some still died while we dithered. Let's get out of here."
  74. [18:53:12] <%Somber> "I agree..." the old stallion said. And in a flash, their gear and their appearance returned to normal.
  75. [18:55:36] Star_Chaser frowns and looks up the stairs. "Because sometimes the right thing to do is easy to miss when all you can see is what's gone wrong."
  76. [18:56:46] Aria sighs. "We need to confirm that the raider is dead and help any of the prisoners if we can."
  77. [18:57:15] Skyshine looks to Star Chaser and smiles reassuringly. "But it can be done. Is the nice thing about the right thing. No matter how lost you are, sometimes you can do the right thing if you just try."
  78. [18:58:13] Star_Chaser nods her head. "Also, because those with power rarely wish to relinquish it. Even when it's obvious that keeping it is only going to hurt those they were supposed to protect." She scowls a bit at that prospect, then sighs quietly and gives Skyshine a slight smile. "And sometimes doing the right thing means losing everything you thought you cared about." She turns to head
  79. [18:58:13] Star_Chaser up the stairs after the mob.
  80. [18:59:13] Red_Line chuckles "The right thing is new in my life. At lest we don't have to live with all of the pain the world use to be."
  81. [19:01:04] Tiller walks up the stairs. He didn't kill those ponies. He's pretty sure nopony actually died by his hoof, or lack of action. But it doesn't make him feel any better for hesitating on what he knew was the right course. "C'mon. I want to see the office of the warden."
  82. [19:01:19] Skyshine sighs and looks down at her hooves. "Present; past: all painful enough as it is. Don't have ot have grown up on the ground or a time when balefire fell to know that. It's finding a way to stop the pain for everypony that's what is important."
  83. [19:07:11] <%Somber> The jail had returned to the wasteland. In the cells were heaps and heaps of old bones, many with hooves still stuck through the door. Surprisingly, the police issue revolvers were with them, but they were now in poor condition. Indeed, it did appear as if they'd just jumped two centuries in time. Going up stairs, voices could be heard. "Long as those
  84. [19:08:52] <%Somber> psychopaths stay out there, I'm happy. I'm way better with our particular flavor of crazy." A mare said, then asks brightly, "Say, wanna fuck?" A stallion groaned. "Again? What is with you, Brass? All week you've been lifting tail to anything with a cock. Give it a break." The mare pouted. "I dunno. I just... really would like a fuck. Is that so
  85. [19:09:45] <%Somber> bad?" The stairs opened up to an office space that was firmly trashed. A half dozen desks with dead monitors on them. At the front doors to the police station was a baricade and two raiders keeping watch.
  86. [19:10:04] <%Somber> The stairs continued up to the second floor, with a sign that said 'Offices.'
  87. [19:10:19] Star_Chaser gestured the others to keep quiet.
  88. [19:10:33] Red_Line gets low as he can
  89. [19:11:07] Skyshine eyetwitches at the ' just want to fuck' comment.
  90. [19:12:01] Tiller begins to sneak.
  91. [19:12:03] Aria notices and gives Skyshine a concerned look.
  92. [19:16:58] Tiller sneakysneaks to the side of the room, trying to keep as much distance between himself and the guards, looking for an opening to sneak through.
  93. [19:18:30] Star_Chaser had never been terribly good at sneaking around, but she at least did her best to not attract attention as she motioned upwards towards the second floor.
  94. [19:18:35] <%Somber> Tiller gets across without being spotted. The mare huffs and leans back against the wall. "Fuuuuck, I want to get out of this place. This place just sucks."
  95. [19:24:16] Red_Line gets up to move, but some how blunders in to a chair, nocking it over
  96. [19:24:32] <%Somber> Star tries to go up, sneak sneak sneak. She slips on a piece of paper and tumbles down. Bang bang bang! The two raiders turn. "Shit!! Shit!! Where'd they come from? I thought the door down there was trapped!" The mare gasped as she drew a zebra sword. The stallion in rifled battle saddle rig held out a hoof. "Hold on! I don't want to fight anypony
  97. [19:24:44] <%Somber> five to two... who the hell are you guys?"
  98. [19:25:25] Tiller stays sneaky. Best to be an ace in the hole.
  99. [19:26:12] Aria curses "Celestia's cake and tea!" before charging forward with her golf club to smash the battle saddle wearing pony over the head with her golf club.
  100. [19:26:14] Red_Line gathers his wits "Us, where some new guys the boss picked up."
  101. [19:26:53] Skyshine trots up the stairs behind Star. "Do be more careful, dear." she says. "Oh, we're... Aria stop!" she cries out.
  102. [19:27:31] Aria stops and blinks. "Sorry, saw weapons drawn and it's force of habit."
  103. [19:27:32] Star_Chaser groans a moment as she stands back up and shakes her head. She opens her mouth to answer the question about who they were, only for Aria to go rushing in and Red Line to answer first. Instead she just lets out a groan of irritation.
  104. [19:29:17] Skyshine smiles sweetly at Aria. "You can smash things later, sweetie, I do know how much you like doing that. Yes, as my friend here said, we're the new ponies the boss recruited." she says, her voice sickly sweet.
  105. [19:31:58] <%Somber> "AHHH!" the stallion gasped. "Frigging hell! Why's bloodwing always getting psychos? I know they're great fodder for the NCR but fuck!" The mare also relaxed, still biting the sword, not quite at ease though. "Glad you made it in. Sorry we haven't met. I'm Rusty. This is my sister, Brass. Some salvage, huh? Robbing caravans was easier. Less crazy
  106. [19:32:00] <%Somber> gas."
  107. Lost link.
  108. [19:48:32] Star_Chaser frowns, well this was problematic. But not surprising. "Guess you haven't gone out to find the NCR's daytime hidey-hole yourselves, then? No surprise, I guess. Probably wouldn't want to risk that."
  109. [19:50:12] <%Somber> "No. We're trying to get enough food and water to get the hell out of here. If the NCR would just stop hitting us we'd let them have this shit hole." Brass said with a snort.
  110. [19:51:29] Star_Chaser scowls. "Funny that." She shakes her head. "We should talk to Bloodwind. Sounds like this is going to get stickier than originally expected."
  111. [19:54:20] <%Somber> "She's up stairs. NCR should hit us in an hour or two. Eat if you got the food. Fuck if you got the time. Then get buckled up and ready. No clue when they're going to come at us."
  112. [19:54:47] Red_Line nods to Star_Chaser "This whole things is messed up."
  113. [19:55:06] Aria glances to Skyshine nervously. "Things are looking crazy again."
  114. [19:55:21] Star_Chaser glowers and begins to head upstairs again. "It's always looking crazy. This whole damn city is crazy."
  115. [19:55:28] Tiller tries to play it cool as he stands up in full view. "I better reload my pistol then." He does so.
  116. [19:57:29] Tiller follows the others upstairs.
  117. [19:57:46] <%Somber> That made the mare jump. "Holy fuck... where'd you come from?" Then she regarded him and gave a crooked smile. "And hey, you got half an hour, handsome?" The stallion groaned. "Brass, Celestia's fiery pussy drips, do you have to chase every cock?"
  118. [19:58:05] Skyshine grumbles quietly. "What is with the sex?" she wonders to herself as she follows the others.
  119. [19:58:36] Tiller flushes a little. "I'm taken, honey."
  120. [19:59:30] Red_Line looks back at the mare then shrugs, troting up the stairs
  121. [20:00:07] Aria bites her lip again. "I don't know..."
  122. [20:04:07] <%Somber> The two argued as the others left them behind. Up stairs were a number of offices, a half dozen converted into living quarters. A lot of these raiders were shot up and hungry looking. Many of them looked on with suspicion, and a few with gratitude. The last one was marked Captain. Inside was a red mare with an almost black mane. She looked up from
  123. [20:04:33] <%Somber> behind the desk with a sober expression. "I don't know you... who are you?"
  124. [20:04:58] Tiller likes doing the not speaking thing.
  125. [20:07:19] Star_Chaser looked more than a little surprised at the particular pegasus sitting behind the desk, before she gave a brief salute. "You may not know us, but I know who you are. Or were, I suppose. This place does strange things to ponies. And the wasteland worse still." She frowns. "We're the last of the ponies to arrive in this hellhole from the outside. Or I'd guess as much. Unless
  126. [20:07:19] Star_Chaser it blows up the bridge every time ponies arrive to convince them to stay."
  127. [20:09:46] Skyshine raises an eyebrow at Star's salute.
  128. [20:10:35] <%Somber> She scowled at the salute. "Sometimes I wonder." She said as she rose and approached them. The powerful mare was scarred from head to hoof as if she'd been horribly whipped. "Who are you and why are you here? If you're here for sanctuary, I'm afraid we have precious little food as is. We can't keep you or feed you longer than a night unless you've
  129. [20:10:44] <%Somber> stumbled on a huge cashe of supplies."
  130. [20:13:07] Star_Chaser frowns. "Truthfully? We came because the NCR claimed you were attacking them every night. Came here to kill you." She gestures with a forehoof. "But based on what your subordinates downstairs said it sounds like things are more complicated than that. Since they say the NCR has been attacking you every night. I've seen the NCR's forces. No way they could risk enough to hit
  131. [20:13:08] Star_Chaser you that hard." She scowls. "I think the city's trying to get you both to wipe eachother out. Or maybe just plans to make you hate eachother enough to refuse to work together."
  132. [20:16:08] Tiller "I like your gang already. The NCR guys shot at us a bunch first before they were willing to talk to us."
  133. [20:17:14] Star_Chaser realized after a moment that she hadn't actually introduced herself. "Sergeant Star Chaser." She offers a forehoof. "Was, at least, until the higher ups decided that their power was worth more than the people they promised to protect."
  134. [20:17:30] <%Somber> "Interesting theory. It doesn't change the fact that every night we are attacked. And every night we get more and more shot up." She frowned at her. "I've wanted to leave since things fell apart, but flying is death and we don't have enough food to leave. I've sent ponies for help, but who knows if they made it through... or if they ever will."
  135. [20:18:45] Skyshine frowns. "I'm getting the impression that howling death thing wasn't coming from you all..."
  136. [20:19:30] Tiller "We tried to get a healing talisman from the hospital. Us, together. We barely got out alive and sane. I don't think single ponies have a chance in this city."
  137. [20:19:57] Star_Chaser ruffles her feathers slightly and frowns. "Truth be told? I think your best option is to try to meet with the NCR and strike some kind of bargain." She scowls slightly. "They claim you're attacking them. You claim they're attacking you. Someone, or something, is clearly attacking both of you. Probably to try and prevent you from working together." She snorts. "I know you
  138. [20:19:58] Star_Chaser don't have much reason to believe us. Any, really. But after what I've seen there and here? I don't believe either side has the strength to do what the other is claiming."
  139. [20:20:28] Red_Line grins "Na, this crazy town wants us to stay. I think it's got bored or some thing."
  140. [20:20:52] <%Somber> "No. I don't know what it is. Ponies who fly too far from the ground just get torn apart. I doubt it's an NCR weapon either. If it existed, the invasion wouldn't have had a chance." She looked at the others. "I was Major Blazewing of the 6th Canterlot Mountain Division... up until a maniac decided to obliterate an Equestrian cultural treasure."
  141. [20:22:02] Skyshine lays her ears back at the mention of Canterlot. "That... would have been Neighvarro high command and the Raptor Nimbostratus."
  142. [20:22:56] Star_Chaser frowns. "This whole city's some kind of trap. A prison. Psychiatric ward or something. Keeps everyone in." She eartwitches slightly at Skyshine's comment, looking to the other pegasus quizzically, then looks back to the ex-Major. "It doesn't want anyone leaving. Or getting strong enough to leave, I think."
  143. [20:23:22] Aria swallowed hard. "Yeah... My ancestor's were from Canterlot. I kinda wanted to see it if I ever got out of the Stable. Can't now..."
  144. [20:23:51] Skyshine mutters something about Nimbostratus and constantly needing to replace the primary capaciter on the Thunderhead generator and good riddance that ship was a nightmare.
  145. [20:24:06] <%Somber> "That's the one. We tried to reason with their captain. Then I tried to order him not to. Even resigned. Didn't change a thing. Just got me publicly flogged." She gave a little sniff. "Least they got theirs." She looked at Star. "Whatever the city is, we're trying to focus on just getting through the night."
  146. [20:25:40] Tiller "Well, we can probably help fend off the nightly attack. But we need a larger plan too."
  147. [20:26:20] Skyshine pales at Tiller's suggestion to fend off an attack. "And... a few more bullets. My 5 aren't going to do much."
  148. [20:26:29] Star_Chaser nods her head. "We'll stay and help tonight. Tomorrow, I'd like you to pick a few of your followers and come with us to meet the NCR. If things are going to get better for either of you, it has to be together. Because I don't think it'll change while you're apart." She regards Skyshine quietly again a few moments. "Or you can choose to stay here, if you want. Either way.
  149. [20:26:29] Star_Chaser We'll stay the night, and do what we can."
  150. [20:26:47] <Red_Line> "Speaking of the night. Y'all wouldn't hjave so where we can bed down, if we'er going to help you?"
  151. [20:27:32] <Red_Line> have*
  152. [20:27:45] <Red_Line> some*
  153. [20:27:49] Skyshine pokes Red Line with a hoof. "Brass had one..." she whispers mischieviously
  154. [20:28:28] <%Somber> "Second floor is full, but you can take the first. Especially if you're keen on helping us. The NCR hits us from the roof, the front door, and the basement. No clue how they get there. Some nights they hit all three. I drive myself crazy trying to think about it." She said with a shake of her head.
  155. [20:28:56] Red_Line smerks "But would she let me sleep."
  156. [20:30:57] Star_Chaser frowns at that and nods her head. "We'll see what we can do." She sighs quietly. This place was getting even more complicated all the time.
  157. [20:33:13] Red_Line more to himself than any one around him "The roof and the basement, I mean sure some tunnals, but the roof."
  158. [20:33:34] Tiller "First floor is fine with me."
  159. [20:33:47] Star_Chaser paused briefly and frowned. "You'll need to send someone else to watch the basement. I think your guard down there got caught in the explosions when we came in. My apologies." She bows her head.
  160. [20:35:26] <%Somber> "Fair enough. We'll send Blasting Cap down to fix it up. Eat if you can. Rest. We've got 5.56 ammo by the hoofful if you need any."
  161. [20:36:22] Star_Chaser gave another salute. "I could use some. Thank you." She turned to depart for the main floor again.
  162. [20:36:25] Tiller "I need ten mil, actually."
  163. [20:36:46] Red_Line out loud on the same train of train of thought "How can they get on the roof. No one can fly here. And the out side had all that spikes."
  164. [20:37:17] <%Somber> "Now you know why it's driving me crazy." she said to Redline.
  165. [20:40:10] Star_Chaser snorts. "Because that's what the city wants. And it gets what it wants."
  166. [20:43:19] Red_Line goes off to find a nice spot to lay down and rest for as long as he can.
  167. [20:43:47] Star_Chaser headed back downstairs to ready herself for battle, securing the service rifle to her battle saddle.
  168. [20:44:14] Skyshine follows Star downstairs, a little puzzled by the looks she was getting from the other pegasus
  169. [20:47:26] Tiller joins the others downstairs.
  170. [20:48:40] Aria follows as well.
  171. [20:49:03] Skyshine sits down next to Star and watches the mare fiddle with her battlesaddle. "So what was that look for? When we were talking to the Major?"
  172. [20:51:31] Tiller "Y'know, I've still got a bunch of those tokens. You think maybe there's some vending machines around here that'll take 'em?"
  173. [20:52:42] <%Somber> There were three in the breakroom on the first floor.
  174. [20:53:55] Star_Chaser looks up to Skyshine. Then back down to her saddle and frowns. "Didn't think you seemed the type to have been from the military. Figured you were just a civilian who came down after the clouds were cleared, to be honest." She sighs quietly, ruffling her feathers. "Guess I still like to assume folks are innocent more than not."
  175. [20:54:33] Tiller mumbles quietly, "You'd be surprised at just how many are innocent."
  176. [20:55:35] <%Somber> Brass trotted up to Red_line and offered to make it even nicer.
  177. [20:56:24] Skyshine looks down at her hooves. "I'm from Neighvarro. Wasn't involved in the military, didn't have a "useful enough talent" for that. Course..." She trails off and shakes her head. "I got taught how to work with my hooves. I worked on Raptors when they were around. I didn't know the Nimbostratus' captain, but I knew the ship. It was a piece of shit. Always losing thunderhead integrity, threatened to drop right o
  178. [20:57:08] Skyshine she smirks. "So when we lost her over Everfree, I wasn't all that surprised."
  179. [20:59:19] Red_Line looks to the mare "Thats not a bad idea. But right now I'm running on fumes. Maybe later, when this is all settled I'll take you up on that offer." he gives her a tired smile
  180. [21:02:21] Star_Chaser sets about putting her battle saddle back on once the new weapon was secure. She looked back up to Skyshine. "Guess that makes sense." She sighs quietly. "Two hundred years of second-hoof parts and patch repairs probably left a lot of the raptors in pretty poor state." She frowned. "Sorry. I have some... Bad memories about what happened after the clouds broke." She sighed
  181. [21:02:21] Star_Chaser quietly.
  182. [21:04:12] Skyshine places a hoof on Star's foreleg. "I'm sorry. Where were you when they broke? I was... well, hiding from a dragon."
  183. [21:06:54] Aria just listens to the two pegasi talk, not wanting to intrude.
  184. [21:08:48] Star_Chaser frowns, looking down at the hoof. "Assigned to the support formations over Nimbus City when the towers went up. It wasn't the clouds going that was the worst, though. It was what happened afterwards." She looked away from Skyshine, her ears folded back. "When we found out what we'd really been fighting for."
