- >You slowly open your eyes and stare at the ceiling above you.
- >Deciding you should get a start on the day you sit up and as you do, your head feels like it’s being pushed down on.
- >You bring a hand up to your forehead as your headache worsens, that’s when you notice your temperature is a little warmer than usual.
- >Proceeding to check the rest of you; scratchy and sore throat, runny nose and then you let out a loud sneeze confirming your suspicions.
- >You’re sick.
- >It’s a little surprising, considering in the entire time you’ve been here you haven’t gotten sick once.
- >You remember your mum telling you something about Vitamin C being good for you if you’re sick so you climb out of bed and head into the kitchen to pour a glass of apple juice.
- >You think it’s got enough Vitamin C.
- >Applejack doesn’t sell oranges, actually, no pony sells them for that matter so you’re stuck with apples.
- >Before you go back to bed you decide to quickly knock on Moonie’s door.
- >You’re left waiting for about a minute but she eventually opens the door with an exhausted expression.
- >”What?” her crude attitude shows through more in morning.
- “I’m sick so I’ll be in bed most of the day. Are you going to be alright to look after yourself?”
- >Moonie sighs as you try clearing your throat a few times to try and get rid of that sandpaper feel whenever you talk.
- >”You woke me for this? Of course, I can take care of myself.”
- >She turns around before slamming the door in your face with a kick.
- >If you were feeling better, you’d tell her off but everything is too draining right now so you opt for returning to your warm bed.
- >Not long after climbing into bed you fall asleep.
- ---
- >A few hours later you’re woken from your slumber by a soft prodding but you’re in no mood or condition to wake up right now so you roll over with a grunt.
- >The prodding is at it again, harder and after a few pokes it turns into a kick right into your side.
- >You jolt up, ready to kill the culprit.
- >”Oh good, you’re awake,” cheers Moonie in a bright and joyful voice.
- “What the hell was that for?”
- >”No reason. I thought I’d be considerate and come look after you.”
- >You look down to see her looking back up at you with a nurse cap and a syringe held in her mouth. She’d be adorable if it weren’t for the size of that needle.
- “Moonie… What’s the needle for?”
- >”It’s just a toy.”
- >To demonstrate she pokes you with it and the needle part retreats back into the canister. It makes you cringe a little, you’ve never liked needles and for a toy, it was way too realistic.
- “Look, I’ll be fine. I just need rest.”
- >”Luckily for you, I’m looking after you. Don’t even think about refusing, your queen has spoken.”
- >She stomps her hoof down to show some kind of assertiveness but you’re too tired carry on. Whatever you’ve got, it’s taken all the energy out of you.
- >”Relax Anon, you’ll be fine.”
- >The way she said that doesn’t inspire any confidence, honestly, you’re getting a very bad feeling about this situation.
- >You spend the next few minutes talking to Moonie about your symptoms while she takes notes.
- >A smile creeps across your face as you watch her concentrate deeply during her note-taking but it quickly disappears and that bad feeling turns into dread when she leaves the room saying, “wait here. I know how to fix this.”
- >You wait patiently in your bed for her return.
- >Suddenly, the whirring of the blender starts up in the kitchen.
- “What the bloody hell is she doing,” you say aloud to yourself.
- >Shortly after the blender is shut off, Moonie walks back into the room.
- >”Anon, I made you some medicine.”
- >You will admit, her cheerful mood is infectious but it’s hard to be in a bad mood when she’s in a good one.
- >Although, it might just be your suffering that’s making her happy.
- >She places a cup on the bedside table beside you and you lean over to look at its contents.
- “It’s changing… colour. How did you do that?”
- >”Can’t tell. It’s a Nurse secret.”
- “I’m not drinking anything unless I know what’s in it..”
- >”By order of your Quee-”
- “Moonie. No.”
- >She sits and crosses her forehooves before looking at you with a glare.
- “Make all the faces you want. I’m not drinking it.”
- >She just pouts before sighing in defeat.
- >”Fine. It’s got a few apples, a stalk of celery, 2 eggs and some pumpkin for your health.”
- “Well… That doesn’t sound too bad, I-”
- >”Some chilli to keep you warm, coffee beans for energy and some fairy floss to make it taste sweet.”
- >You’re a little stunned at how her logic works.
- “Yeah, Moonie, I can’t drink that.”
- >That drink will probably make you worse also by the way it’s bubbling, you suspect she forgot to tell you a few ingredients.
- >”Very well, it appears I have to use force.”
- >Before you can make any kind of protest, she kicks your stomach and as you open your mouth to let out a yelp, she pours the cup’s contents down your throat.
- >You regret everything the moment you swallow.
- >You’ve never tasted something so horrible, and despite not wanting to hurt Moonie’s feelings over this, you start coughing and spluttering on the verge of vomiting for the next few minutes.
- >”Really, any minion of mine should have a stronger stomach than that.”
- >Even with the rude attitude, you know she feels bad about nearly killing you.
- >”One minute Anon, I have another idea.”
- >You think.
- ---
- >The rest of the day is spent with her running back and forth, each time with a new idea that ultimately ends up making you feel worse.
- >She decided to bring some water and a cloth to wipe away your sweat, not a bad idea but she brought in hot water and spilt it over your crotch.
- >When you found a moment to fall asleep, you ended up waking up a few minutes later wrapped in bandages like an egyptian mummy.
- >She also made you another one of those drinks and somehow got you to drink it. It tasted even worse than the first.
- >You appreciate her attempts to help but she’s quickly finding the limits to your patience.
- >All you want to do is sleep until you’re feeling better.
- >A drowsy feeling is sweeping over you as Moonie reviews her notes.
- >”Hmm, I have one last idea.”
- “It better be letting me sleep.”
- >”Actually, I have a special soup that’ll make-”
- “Moonie, enough!” You shout.
- >She steps back in fright as you continue shouting.
- “You’re not helping. It’s just a cold, all I need is to rest but thanks to you I haven’t gotten more than five minutes of it.”
- >”I-I’m… sorry.”
- >She lowers her head and steps out of the room.
- >As she closes the door, a feeling of guilt hits you hard but you take the chance to sleep before speaking to her again. It’ll help you calm down anyway.
- ---
- >A few hours later you're woken again by Moonie
- >This time you pretend you’re still asleep as she creeps into the room and jumps on top of your chest before curling up.
- “Moonie.”
- >You surprise her and she jolts upright.
- “Relax, I’m not going to tell you off. I just want to apologise.”
- >”It’s okay, I’m sorry too. No go back to sleep, nurse’s orders.”
- “Yes ma’am.”
- >She curls back up on your chest and you pull her close as the two of you fall asleep.
