House Fluff: A once great house that dates back to the founding of the empire it has steadily lost power and influence as their holdings became worthless and their attempts at recovery met only with disaster until Leopold the Prodigal son was birthed and the family as a whole met with salvation as they were brought back up by the empress through his appointment to the position of High Judge then swiftly struck down when they felt their relations made them exempt from the empires laws. All that remains of the house now is the Prodigy as the rest have been Exiled, Executed, or Disgraced. While some people saw his measures as extreme and cold it has only reinforced his position as a High Judge without reproach.
Personal Fluff: Leopold is granite, immovable and imposing. He cares little for the trappings of excess and metes out justice both fairly and with extreme prejudice. Through this he has made many enemies both in the guilds as he meets bribes with prison sentences and sanctions as well as with the criminal element as he spent his early career decimating their operations within the empire. This single-mindedness is also what brought the eye of the royal family upon him and the impedements of corrupt and weak superiors was easily removed as he gained first control over the capital's lawmen second only to the previous Head Judge and advanced to the position with the untimely death of his predecessor in the service of duty. Following his ascension to power Leopold quickly began cleansing the ranks of malcontents and using his power to add nearly incorruptible military forces to replace the losses. While people hardly like the man they do enjoy the peace he brings. Imperial politics is an entirely different matter for Leopold as he supports whatever government is most stable and the actual ruling individual is inconsequential as long as their method of ascension is just.
