  1. Time for a version of Halo with so much content it's silly.
  2.
  3. ==Download the game here==
  4.
  5. DDL: https://mega.nz/#!38llyK5Z!Ivf15goLIabbrDLxfyyweKG7bum6Uq3F00-HBsznQdE
  6. (Larger due to maps included, also includes battle city maps)
  7.
  8. Torrent:http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/10173195/Halo_CE_%5BCustom_Edition%5D_1.10_Patched
  9. (Does not include any maps)
  10.
  11. ==PRE-JOIN THINGS TO LOOK AT==
  12.
  13. >How to disable mouse acceleration
  14.
  15. http://halo.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=33034400&postRepeater1-p=1#33062868
  16.
  17. >Invisible chat fix
  18.
  19. http://forum.halomaps.org/index.cfm?page=topic&topicID=27326
  20. (The redist folder is in an odd place on the pre-packed DDL, look in the maps folder)
  21.
  22. ==MAPS YOU MUST MANUALLY INSTALL IF YOU GOT THE TORRENT==
  23. Below are links to maps that if you downloaded a torrent or another version not listed here are needed. These maps cannot be downloaded via HAC2 and as such must be manually installed to the map folder. If you downloaded the DLL or already have battlecity maps use the bottom link. If you have neither battlecity and the unlisted maps use the top link. At worst you download 5 whole maps and only 5
  24.
  25. >BattleCity+Unlisted maps

  28. >Unlisted maps

  30.
  31. ==WHAT MAPS ARE BEING PLAYED?==
  32. The map list will change from time to time and can vary depending on the host. The below pastebin is a raw dump of the mapvote list.
  33.
  34. http://pastebin.com/fzCBnKqf
  35.
  36. The pastebin link is subject to change but for the most part this is a list of maps currently in rotation (Don't let the size fool you some maps are in there twice due to how you have to set up the map vote file)
  37.
  38. ==ENABLING CONSOLE==
  39. Create a shortcut to Haloce.exe and in the target line add a space after the file path and then add -console. In game you'll know it's working if you press ~ and pink text that says "Halo(" shows up on the bottom for your screen.
  40.
  41. ==REACH STYLE CHAT==
  42.
  43. HPC/HCE has a really archaic chat system that has a bad habit of quickly disappearing. HAC2 has a built inb fix for this in the form of a Halo Reach styled chat box that goes from bottom to top.
  44.
  45. Bring up the console with ~ and type
  46. >Custom_chat 1
  47. hit enter
  48.
  49. ==HOW TO CHANGE FoV==
  50.
  51. HAC2 comes with a built in FoV changer.
  52.
  53. >Hit F6
  54. >Move mouse to increase/decrease FoV
  55. >Hit F6 to confirm changes
  56.
  57. You can also bring up console and type in "fov #"
  58. (Ex. fov 100)
  59.
  60. ==CONNECTING==
  61.
  62. Direct IP: 24.62.196.122
  63.
  64. password: rage
  65.
  66. ==WHEN IS IT?==
  67. 4PM EST till when it dies out
  68.
  69. ==OPTIC==
  70.
  71. Optic is a QoL mod that just adds medals and the announcer from later Halo Titles (right now only ones are Reach, H3 and H4). These mods are client side and do not affect gameplay.
  72.

  74.
  75. >Installing
  76.
  77. Download the files (any or all)
  78. Go to My Documents>My Games>HaloCE>HAC>pack
  79. If pack folder does not exist, make it
  80. Drop the archived files into the pack
  81.
  82. ==DO NOT EXTRACT THESE ARCHIVED FILES==
  83.
  84. In Halo open the console and type
  85. >Optic
  86.
  87. This will show you all loaded packs, to load one type
  88.
  89. >Optic load <filename>
  90. (Ex. Optic load Haloreach)
  91. Filename must be as the archive is named
  92.
  93.
  94. ==GAMETYPES==
  95. Some people seem to actually be confused. So here's a breakdwon of some of the gametypes on the server.
  96.
  97. >Predator
  98. Reverse tag. The person who is "IT" is the predator and must win by getting 15 points. everyone else can either fight amongst themselves or team up to take down the predator
  99.
  100. >Assault
  101. Reverse 1 Flag CTF. Instead of stealing the defending team's flag you're trying to plant it in their base.
  102.
  103.
  104. ==Why not Halo: Online?==
  105.
  106. Not that much custom content, really restrictive server op controls. Not that toaster friendly.
  107.
  108. ==Host a server for <Game I like>==
  109. Maybe if I like it I'll look into it, but it's gotta run off a shitty laptop with 4 gigs of ram (That's what runs the HCE server).
  110.
  111. ==Where is the Mumble/TS/discord server?==
  112. Multiple anons agree a discord would lead to group drama. So there isn't any.
  113.
  114. ==FOR THOSE WANTING TO PLAY SPv3==
  115. Open Sauce (OS) is a 3rd party application that is meant to expand HaloCE's capabilities. Since I can't get a portable version packaged here's the next best thing.
  116.
  117. download this:
  118. http://haloce3.com/ccount/click.php?id=sp_spv302_modgame
  119.
  120. Run the HCE installer
  121. Keep the default directory
  122. Put in this CD key: MVY49-RXRJP-WJHK6-98CT9-HF6VY
  123. Install, do not restart
  124. Install the 1.10 update
  125. Once 1.10 is finished install OS
  126. One everything is set install the .yelo maps included in the above link
  127.
  128. The CD key provided is a spare one I have. Since HAC2 and OS can't play nice together it's good to have a install of HCE for SPv3 while the HAC2 version is used for MP
