  1. Alright so say you're a cop tryna find the unarmed black youth
  2.
  3. I mean Criminal
  4.
  5. Anyway
  6.
  7. You collect all the evidence, and then it points to whoever it is and you say "evidence points to that guy so it's him."
  8.
  9. Alternatively,
  10.
  11. You witness a crime but the guy escapes. So you only need to prove it was one guy, or find the evidence that points to arresting that one guy. Your preconception makes you eliminate other "evidence."
  12.
  13. Finally,
  14.
  15. You THINK you witness a crime, but you're mistaken. So you do the previous system of collecting evidence, but arriving at the wrong conclusion. You see the guy you THINK did it walk in to a gun store, and you tell a jury that, and they go GUILTYGUILTY! When really you're wrong.
  16.
  17. Failed perception, plus preconception, makes ALL THE EVIDENCE point to the wrong conclusion in your mind
  18.
  19. Depression plus preconception leads to every interaction pointing to "everyone hates me" in your mind
  20.
  21. He's not just a depressive guy, he's a normal-ass dude, who happens to suffer from a disease, being depressed. Fucks with perception.
