  3. In the last show somebody wrote in cause he experienced that after he deleted a partition, then recreated a new one on top, the data was still there.

  5. I experienced this also some times. Through since we now have SSDs, there is a very simple and effective workaround:

  7. Just trim the whole partition/disk. There are several tools for this: fstrim, blkdiscard, hdparm, ...
  8. Trimming might take some seconds and on big disks even some minutes! If it takes to long for you, you could trim only the first and last dozens of blocks on that device.

  11. But be warned: Don't do it before you are sure that you really don't need the data on the disk! Trimming erases the disks internal logical to physical block tables!
