  1. How to ERP properly.
  2.
  3. This short guide intends not to show you where to ERP, or how to find decent partners, but to teach you how to conduct the RP properly and raise the quality of it in regards to writing.
  4.
  5. Partners can be found on f-list, skype, steam and similar applications or websites, /me functions are neat and a plus, but not necessary.
  6.
  7. 1. OOC talk
  8.
  9. Usually, you will want to start out of character first, a few people favor IC approaches to instantly segregate retards from people who are worthwhile, it works well when you're experienced, but also might deter people and cause miscommunication when it comes to fetishes.
  10. Steer away from that unless you're experienced.
  11.
  12. Establish what your partner is into and negotiate kinks if necessary, you don't want to have someone suddenly pissing on you, literally, or pulling similar things.
  13. Agree upon a scenario, scenarios and locations should always be driven by what is going to happen with in.
  14. Rape? Dark alleyway, perhaps a forest if its supposed to be more feral.
  15. Public sex? A park, a tavern or a club
  16.
  17. Locations only serve to make the events within the RP more plausible and to allow them in the first place.
  18.
  19. 2. Starting off
  20.
  21. This is usually the hardest and most awkward part, however all you have to do, since you already established the location and setting, is describe the surroundings, give a mood to it (If you're going to have rape going on in a few, a dark and shady alleyway is perfect.) and describe what your character looks like and what he's doing and set up where its going to go, give a "hook" to your partner.
  22.
  23. 3. Roleplaying
  24.
  25. Once you are over the hurdle of the start, everything is usually smooth sailing and every response can be divided into three easy sections:
  26. 1. Reaction 2. Description 1. Action
  27. Your partner does something and you should react to it, someone gropes your ass?
  28. Better fucking mention that, push your ass against it and moan out like a slut, the description usually are sensations or further elaboration on what is happening.
  29. Think about what is going on in the characters head and how that influences their bodily reactions, blushing, getting hard/wet, making their hair stand stiff and then their senses, smell, sight, taste, hearing and touch whenever there is an occasion, don't be afraid to slightly exaggerate and use adjectives.
  30. Actions should drive the RP forward as a whole, giving your partner more to react, you'll quickly race towards the finish like that, so take your time IC and take your time in foreplay.
  31.
  32. 4. Proper form
  33.
  34. One liners are always shit, no exceptions, take your time and write longer sentences with embedded sentences, do multiple sentences if you have to and take a moment to check if you've written enough, walls of words usually aren't an issue, but can happen, check to see how much your partner is writing.
  35. Proper grammar and correct punctuation as well as spelling gets people hard and shows that you aren't a retarded teen, signs of intelligence are attractive as fuck.
  36. Using * or > and fuck what else I've seen is redundant and shows lack of experience, either use /me or nothing at all, quotation marks are, of course, good and necessary.
  37.
  38. The most standard and safest time form is using the present, there is no reason not to use it, unless your partner has a hard-on for past tense due to incomprehensible reasons, which is also a valid time form, but not as standard.
  39. The only complete fuck up you can do is using conditional forms, such as would or if, which is so completely retarded that I don't even know where to begin, don't fucking do it you mouth breather.
  40.
  41. Then finally its about first, second or third person, the most safest and usually best is third person, referring to yourself as if it was someone else as well as your partner allows for more interesting writing.
  42. Second person can be preferred if you or your partner want to project themselves into the characters, but might be so-so if it isn't agreed upon earlier.
  43. First person is rather weird and restricting, not recommended, but possible.
  44.
  45. Don't repeat yourself and try not to use the same words again within a small timeframe, it makes you look like you copy and pasted shit to get it over with, use google and thesaurus if you have to describe the same thing again, motherfucker.
  46.
  47. Attached are sample logs that serve to showcase the knowledge here being applied, mostly, read and think up how to improve, copy what you think is good.
