Dr. Nelson reliance on other staff to do his work is what I consider his trademark feature that he calls his 'guide by the side' philosophy. His absence from school is constant except when a high profile event occurs. He has never made classroom observations on most teachers but relies on your own self-assessment for feedback. He is a charasmatic and friendly character who would make a great salesman but his failure to provide any substancial leadership is what I will remember him for.
