LIST OF THINGS TO DO FOR REGION WARS


CAPTAINS

Captains are supposed to meet 2 standards

1. Be skilled
	- Reasonably skilled because captains are expected to play

2. ENCOURAGE PARTICIPATION
	-One of the best ways to do this is to have captains encourage team practices. This fosters team togetherness and helps the prestige of the tournament because if teams practice they are more motivated to show up and win

Another standard is management ability (ie give everyone playing time if they deserve it) but this is secondary

Captains are also encouraged to help convince high level players to sign up for their regions to help increase the prestige of the tournament

Florida(might be Stalin due to wanting to call the shots but Tyrus seems like a good option)

Carolinas (thinking E or Tsu, maybe nitro if he signs up, Rasta didnt sound like he wanted to play)

New England(neb might be a good choice)

New York(could be resolved shortly)


I realize that not every region will have captains encouraging tryouts or be responsible but Im trying my hardest to have everyone increase participation.

REGIONS

Discussed with rk, it seems that we will keep regions the same for now as talent would be spread to thin and scheduling would be a hassle.

I think we are good to keep regions

SCHEDULING

I'd like to confirm some West coast captains first to ask what time pacific time would be good to play as to make it not too early for them but also talk to east coast to make sure its not too late. I think the later will be better but my prediction is probably off. We can get together after we find out the info. We will post a megathread with all this info when it can be released.

SCORE KEEPING/ STAT COLLECTING

-STAT SHEET

	HUGE. But mgiht be simple.

	Since regions are the same we can just reuse the old stats sheet from the last region wars for US only since the one day will be a US only tournament. Should be fairly simple to copy paste it and then use it to update scores and standings with volunteers.


-STATS BOT
	Lambda offered the use of his stats bot which prints the score of the game and the team who won in a pastebin. Sounds simple enough but if I'm missing anything rk can fill in. If for some unknown reason the bot doesn't work crashes, skynet takes over ect we can always go by screenshots and word of mouth to update scores. Should be fairly simple if we get the Stat sheet which we can probably copy or redo very easily since we have the template.

-VOLUNTEERS

	THIS. IS. HUGE.

	We need to message all people who volunteered to keep stats to make sure they will a) Be online during the day of the tournament and b) have some sort of training so they dont just get thrown in and make mistakes or mess up the packet. They should know how to use stats bot if that is used and how to update standings and tell people how to report scores in an orderly fashion. If we can get volunteers and a stat packet going we can have this tournament set


STREAMING

A big part of Region Wars is the spectator aspect of it. People love the exposure and rewatching their games as there will be many good ones.

Obviously at the bare minimum we must absolutely stream the final. B-Team Final is after that then A team Semis are after that in order of importance.

I would like to get as much as content streamed as possibly especially with the possibility of Mike returning again and many people would like to watch him play especially if its with asdf. Same goes for a lot of other regions, im sure california regions will have their own dedicated streamers.

We have to get a call for streamers in another call for volunteers thread I plan on having.

My big plan is to ask Nqoba and Riverhorse, 2 of the hands down best streamers in the community to not participate in playing but rather stream most of the games. I will not force them to do it but rather I would like to tell them that their quality as streamers are very important to this event and community than as players. Both are fine players and would do well on b team but would be unlikely to start a team if they do not have significant majors experience which neither have. RK offered to give reddit gold for the participation. After that we can get people to stream less important games. Im sure west coast will have a bunch from what ive seen of CLTP who have random streamers for their finals games.

MUMBLE CHANNELS

We need to make the mumble tree to make regions have team channels. This will help participation by giving teams a place to practice and maybe people will scroll down and decide to sign up once they realize how many people are taking interest. This will happen eventually but I want it to happen sooner rather than later.


ARTWORK

-VERY IMPORTANT IMHO

	I received confirmation from Lucky Spammer that he was willing to make the default background of tagpro the region wars art work. It's just a matter of getting it to him. As time runs closer I feel that we are better off just giving him the old art work from region wars I and using the same background as any call for content might be rushed at this point. He said he would be willing to keep it up for the whole week which will give us the hype and exposure we need even though we are on short notice. We have to act fast on this.

	If we can get the artwork to be the background for a solid 4 days the exposure for this will be really big. It could potentially backfire however as if it really works sign ups could explode and we would have a lot of players on our hands and we woud have to make sure we have enough volunteers for potential c teams if this was to happen.

SOUTH AMERICAN COUNTRIES/OTHER COUNTRIES

People not in the US will likely get assigned to a random pi team as that is the server most south Americans get good ping on as opposed to centra group they were put in last time.

Idk wtf to do with the Egyptian guy do you have any suggestion rk or anybody fill in?


INTERNATIONAL


FFS We need to make sure oceanic and european communities are on their shit. I havent talked to any of them in a while but RK can do Oceanic community since he has talked to them more and I can talk to the Europeans ot make sure they are making Region wars is a huge event.

basically we will make sure that they are keeping region wars over there organized with volunteers and stats while managing to hype it up too.

VETERAN SIGN UPS

The more MLTP level players the better the tournament (more prestigious competition)

We are severely lacking in Michigan as Harry ball abbot and annyong havent signed up and might have no intention to do so.


We are still counting on Mike to show up and he has shown no sign of responding whether he will sign up or not. If he doesn't then asdf wont either.

noblord said he sent a modmail in the New Jersey subreddit about practiceand apparently Salamander responded and said he would be down to play. he has yet ot sign up though so we don't know if he will for sure. Nick Corso also need to sign up Swingman said he would help convince him.

Dino pledged to sign up for NE but has yet to sign up. Ive messaged Jesus multiple times on mumble and he hasn't responded to me. I don't know if he has ignored me or has no interest.

Bible Belt looks particularly bare because Turbo has no interest in signing up and Jgibbs has ignored me or hasnt seen my mumble messages. Im going to assume he doesnt want to play. I can convince notsomeball to sign up but I don't know who else I can get. I messaged OP LOL

Chip and Dad have yet to sign up. Nlfn said he could try and convince dad, dont know what the situation is on Chip. Gratii participated in the last 2 but hasn't signed up for this one, he should be worth asking. Steppin as well has not signed up.

What would be considered the entire starting line up of Florida has shown no interest in participating.Rambo Stalin have all voiced displeasure with this tournament and G1nseng wont sign up unless the others sign up. Who knows where Ramrod is.

Carolina is missing Rasta Nitro and Bowtie. Idk if it is personal life stuff going on or just not asked personally i dont know but we should ask all of them.

In the Rust Belt I want to convince Felix to sign up but it is unlikely he will show because his schedule is so random. I wanted Nawse and Newtruckfund to come back but NTF apparently quit and Nawse is very unlikely to play as he has little interest. Cat came on earlier but i doubt he will make this tournament.

In Texas I can try and convince LizardWizard to sign up tho he might have other commitments. I will see if he can make most of it. Don't know why but Kobe Maybe can't make it and Infinity will be moving or something. Dick_licker for some odd reason doesnt want to play anymore but might be able to be convinced if the others play. I will get Spillers help to convince them

In West Canada Wreckn has made it clear he does not want to participate and I wont force him.

Nor Cal I think is missing Dywz due to work and might have others unavailable.

So Cal will miss druqks but idk if he will sign up. Maybe they can get Dole and Mko in too?

Pacific is miissing bad and bull. Bad I can see signing up, not so sure about Bull.

I think it might be most for notable people missing

B AND POTENTIALLY C TEAMS

Obviously we will have to make sure that B team games will be well organized and scores reported in time fashion. We really want to avoid B team players feeling 3rd rate and we will have to prepare potentially for C teams if possible.

Some teams may not ave B teams while others have plethora of players so we will have to schedule carefully. We will have to ake sure the final is streamed to give the b team guys exposure.



CONCLUSIONS?
