Sun/Moon bat thread request

The rising sun silhouettes two figures standing atop a hill overlooking Hollow Shades. One dressed in black, the other red with scarfs fluttering in the morning breeze. Helmets adorn their heads, shielding their identities from pony’s eyes. They launch into a series of exaggerated movements as they announce their arrival to the sleepy town below them.
“We are the defenders of justice and peace!”
“We fight for those who cannot!”
“When evil shows its head, we are there to stop it!”
“We are the Power Pony Squad!”
Explosions punctuate the end of their introduction, throwing colored smoke high into the air. Pony Black loses his footing and goes tumbling down the hill, landing in a bush. Pony Red leans over to check on his comrade, removing his helmet as he does so.
“Darn it Moon Moon, how will we ever be ready to protect the town if we can’t even get our intro right?”
Pony Black struggles free of the bush and shakes off the remaining foliage, removes his helmet once his footing is regained and looks up at Pony Red with a large smile on his face.
“Sorry, Sun Sun. I forgot to plant my hooves for the finale. I’ll get it eventually.”
Sun Sun shakes his head, they’ve been practicing for days now and they still aren’t ready. The two ponies walk back home, costumes safely stored in saddlebags. They had to get back to town before any pony began to wonder where they had gone. It wouldn’t be good if their secret identities were revealed before they got a chance to fight evil.

“Stop right there, evil doer!”
The thief stops, more out of confusion then compliance. Before him stood two ponies dressed up in colored outfits like in the comic books colts and fillies read. He rubs his eyes, wondering if he should lay off the cider for a while.
“You’ve got to be kidding me! What do two ponies in their pajamas think they can do? I’ve got places to be, see ya later!”
He turns to run, only to find Pony Black standing there. Quickly turning around, he sees Pony Red and another Pony Black! Rubbing his eyes again, he wonders if he’s gone crazy. Before he decides to commit himself, a gust of wind blows by knocking over the Pony Black next to Pony Red, it was just a cardboard cutout. His hoof meets his face, annoyed that he had wasted time on these two. Pony Black seizes his opportunity and leaps upon the thief! Unfortunately he simply bumps off him and lands in the dirt.
“Aagghh! Pony Red, he’s too strong! We must fight together!”
“I’m coming, Pony Black! Super Pony Kick!”
Pony Red dashes forward and flies toward the thief with a super powered kick, intent on saving his fellow Power Pony. With a look of extreme frustration, the thief sidesteps the crazy pony hurtling towards him. Pony Red collides with Pony Black, who was just getting himself righted, and causes the two to spin out into a nearby flower bed. They jolt upright, flowers clinging to them, and assume their poses of justice.
“You fight well for a servant of evil, but not well enough!”
“That’s right; you failed to notice the trap we were setting while you thought you were winning!”
The thief cocks an eyebrow as he looks at the two increasingly silly looking ponies.
“What are you talking about? You’ve done nothing but trip over yourselves. Anyway, it’s been real entertaining but I have to go.”
As he turns, he finds himself face to face with at least four police ponies. The color drains from his face as he is placed in shackles. The two Power Ponies assume another pose as the villain is taken away.
“You’ve fallen prey to our Time Delay abilities! Your overconfidence was your undoing; no evil can withstand the might of the Power Pony Squad!”
As the two characters continue posing and spouting off lines about peace and justice, one of the police ponies trots over to them.
“I suppose I should thank you for slowing him down for us, but you really need to stop this. You’re going to get hurt, and we don’t need another maple syrup and fruit stand incident. Just try and tone it down okay.”
The officer trots off to take care of his duties, leaving the two heroes to soak up what he just said.
“No need to thank us, we are happy to help the inhabitants of this fair town and combat evil wherever it may appear!”
Or not.
The scene is cleaned up quickly, and the Power Ponies are chased away by a livid mare who keeps screaming about ruining her flowerbed or something. The Power Ponies find themselves standing back on their hill overlooking the town. Pony Red places his hoof on Pony Black, with Pony Black returning the gesture.
“We have done well today, Pony Black. Evil showed itself, and we stopped it!”
“That’s right Pony Red, though we must be vigilant for who knows what tomorrow will bring?”
Before they can congratulate themselves further for a job well done, they are interrupted by a rustling in the bushes behind them. The Power Ponies prepare for an epic sundown duel with evil, when a young mare tumbles out, landing on her face. Before they can say anything, this mysterious pony bolts up, with stars in her eyes.
“You guys are the Power Ponies! I love you guys! My name is Cinnamon Sprinkles, can I be a Power Pony too?”
Pony Red and Black share a brief glance before turning back to the young mare and posing as heroically as they can.
“Will you pledge to fight injustice wherever it may show itself?”
“Will you swear to uphold the peace of Hollow Shades, nay, all of Equestria with everything you have?”
The mare jumps up and down like a filly, her wings flittering excitedly.
“Yes yes yes yes yes yes!”
“Then meet us here tomorrow at dawn for your initiation into the Power Pony Squad.”
Cinnamon Sprinkles darts off towards the town, giggling to herself the whole way back. Removing his helmet, Moon Moon turns to Sun Sun, who is also taking his off.
“I like her, she’s funny.”
“Funny or no, we now have another ally in the fight to preserve justice. I knew having those other costumes made up was a good idea.”
They pack up their costumes and begin the walk back home, eagerly awaiting whatever tomorrow has in store for the Power Pony Squad.
