  \-vv-/    the impossibly high ceiling - a perfect half-sphere - is an
           imposing matte black rock.
 Around the elevated stage, rows upon rows of blood-red benches form concentric
 circles, all the way back to where, faintly, the rounded ceiling can be seen
 to curve down to form the wall.  Aisles between the circles of seats are lined
 with heavy, tall steel posts capped with bright gas torches.
 A massive, copper gong, wider and taller than any man, hangs from a framework
 on the central platform.  A holocam floats at eye height over the floor.
Three blue cocoon capsules and a white cocoon capsule are in a small pile near the edge of the chamber.
