  1. > awaken from yet another night of slumber
  2. > the night sky still sleeps at my side
  3. > a knock at the door
  4. > a mail carrier
  5. > I have received a letter
  6. > "Dear Anon,
  7. > I have heard of your victory over the giant snake, and wish to congratulate you in person. Please come to my palace.
  8. > Eternally yours, Princess Celestia"
  9. The pharaoh has summoned me!
  10. > the night sky awakens
  11. > "huh? what?"
  12. > she takes the letter
  13. > "I knew she would"
  14. > I blink
  15. > I am now with the night sky, at the pharaoh's palace
  16. > "Ah! Anon, there you are."
  17. > I take a knee
  18. yes pharaoh, it is I
  19. > "Anon, what you did was astounding"
  20. I was only serving you, pharaoh
  21. > "with magic such as yours, you should be a royal guard"
  22. Am I deserving of such an honor?
  23. > "Indeed, Anon, you are"
  24. Many blessings upon you pharaoh
  25. > "You shall remain in Ponyville, acting as guard against whatever threat may make itself know"
  26. It shall be done
  27. > I am returned to my house
  28. > the night sky and I have a small celebration
  29. > Soon enough, all of Ponyville knows of my new ranking
  30. > the pink one holds another festival
  31. > I speak with various ponies
  32. > "um..h-hey anon"
  33. ah yes, fluttershy is it?
  34. > "y-yes..that's me"
  35. it's nice to see you again
  36. > "Congratulations on your new rank"
  37. many thanks fluttershy
  38. > "I feel so much safer with you guarding us"
  39. I'll try my hardest
  40. > the pink one speaks out
  41. > "A toast, to our new guardian, Anon!"
  42. > I drink my mead, as do all the others
  43. > I hear a whispering
  44. > "They don't trust you Anon, see how they are always watching"
  45. who speaks?
  46. > silence
  47. > shake it off
  48. > continue the party, speak with the fruit farmer
  49. > "Anon, do they have apples where your from?"
  50. apples are rare delicacies, imported from across the great north desert
  51. > "A life without apples, sounds awful"
  52. > a whisper follows
  53. > "see how they mock your life"
  54. My life is well enough!
  55. > "calm down there anon, I didn't mean to insult you or nothing"
  56. Forgive me, I don't know what controlled me
  57. > move on, talk to a pair, one with blue and pink hair, the other, a light green
  58. > the green one speaks
  59. > "I bet it's pretty great being a human. All the attention, you can walk on two legs, and those hands"
  60. > the whisper speaks again
  61. > "the will not allow you to assimilate, look how they point out every difference between you and them"
  62. No! They are my companions!
  63. > the whisper now roars
  64. > "If they are, then why do you doubt their intentions!?"
  65. > I feel something consuming me
  66. > My vision fades
  67. > I see darkness
  68. > I feel nothing
  69. > I awake, bound, on the floor, the pharaoh looking over me
  70. > the pharaoh looks upset
  71. > "what did you do!?"
  72. what did I do?
  73. > I am imprisoned
  74. > I was possessed by darkness
  75. > it was the work of Set
  76. Set! How dare you drive me to betrayal!
  77. > I see the typhonic beast in my cell
  78. > "I only released your doubt"
  79. What did I do?
  80. > "you did nothing, I unleashed my power upon Ponyville"
  81. Did you harm my companions?
  82. > "oh yes, deliciously so"
  83. > I shudder at his tone of voice
  84. Who?
  85. > "The pink one"
  86. what....what did you do to her?
  87. > "just a little slash, threw her across the room"
  88. > I'm straining against the chains, wishing nothing more than to destroy the beast before me
  89. > "oh, and that quiet one too"
  90. no
  91. > "oh yes, I almost couldn't bring myself to do it. She was so timid and wouldn't harm a fly. Almost"
  92. > I break into a fit of rage
  93. > the guards immediately rush to my cell
  94. > Set is gone
  95. > "hey, quiet down in there!"
  96. > I stop on their request
  97. Forgive me guards, I...I was facing an inner demon
  98. > "whatever, weirdo"
  99. > weirdo
  100. > could Set be right?
  101. no, no he can't be right
  102. > the beast returns
  103. > "mmm, all this wonderful destruction, and no Ma'at to take it away from me"
  104. why?
  105. > "because, my child, I can"
  106. I am not your child!
  107. > my ankh flashes blindingly
  108. > the beast hisses, as if burned
  109. > the guards rush to my cell
  110. > they catch sight of Set, just as he vanishes again
  111. > "wha-what was that thing"
  112. that was what attacked ponyville, using me as a host
  113. > the guards, startled by this development, take me to the pharaoh
  114. > "what is it?"
  115. oh wise pharaoh, heed my warning, a terrible god is loose
  116. > "what do you mean"
  117. It was not I who attacked, but Set, the god of despair, and embodiment of all that is evil in man.
  118. > "you did not attack?"
  119. no, when I defeated Apep, darkness oozed from his wounds and entered me. This must be how he found me as host
  120. > "how do we defeat him?"
  121. I.....I don't know, it would take another god. I fear even the power of the pharaoh would not be enough
  122. > "We must leave for Ponyville immediately"
  123. why?
  124. > "for the Elements of Harmony"
  125. > Harmony
  126. > Set is god of Chaos
  127. That would work, by establishing a source for Ma'at to draw power, we could defeat him
  128. > We are now in the tree of the Twilight
  129. > "Twilight, we need the elements of harmony, immediately"
  130. > "Why princess"
  131. > the Twilight sees me, and makes as if to jump away
  132. > "Fear not, for he is not the attacker"
  133. > "Who is?"
  134. Set, god of chaos, misery, and evil
  135. > "Chaos? As in Discord?"
  136. Yes
  137. > "oh no"
  138. You are right to be worried, Set's power is very large
  139. > "I'll collect the girls, you find Set"
  140. > the Twilight runs out of the house, full sprint
  141. > "Where might Set be?"
  142. Anywhere, but he prefers to remain away from society
  143. > "Then we shall check the Everfree forest"
  144. > I ride the pharaoh into the forest
  145. What is to be done when we find him?
  146. > "Stall for time, until the Elements can be assembled"
  147. > A flit of something to the left
  148. There!
  149. > We head to the left
  150. > now a flit to the right
  151. > we run right
  152. > the flits take us in every direction
  153. > we meet a hut
  154. > we go inside
  155. > inside is a nubian horse
  156. > "hello there human and princess, what kind of troubles can we assess?"
  157. > "We're looking for a monster"
  158. > "Many monsters I have seen, but I don't know which it could have been"
  159. He is an evil god, he bears a snout, and resembles a dog
  160. > "I have not seen such a beast, but if I do, I can tell you at least"
  161. > "Thank you Zecora"
  162. > We leave the hut
  163. > A creature leaps from the brush
  164. > A blue winged horse
  165. > "Guys! I found them!"
  166. > all the other horses find us
  167. Now, we must find Set
  168. > "No need to find me, I've already found you"
  169. > the beast
  170. > the Twilight shoots a bolt of magic
  171. > the bolt dissipates
  172. > "nice try, but you can't defeat me"
  173. > the beasts eyes glow red
  174. > a monstrous scorpion manifests itself
  175. Selket
  176. > Rarity responds
  177. > "oh no"
  178. pharaoh, you fight Selket, I and the others will handle Set
  179. > The pharaoh takes flight, summoning several of her guard to fight
  180. > Set begins to levitate
  181. > blasts of heka fly toward us
  182. > a shield appears in my hand
  183. > the crest suggests Isis
  184. > I take the heka
  185. > the Twilight and the others seem to be producing heka themselves
  186. > the Twilight's eyes glow
  187. > the pharaoh is evading Selket's tail, blasting her with fire
  188. > the pharaoh's guard rolls away from the claws, and lances at Selket's head
  189. > One pierces her mouth
  190. > another in the arm
  191. > Selket stabs her tail downward
  192. > the guard narrowly avoid the tail
  193. > the pharaoh, seeing the opportunity, brings a tree down on the tail
  194. > Selket screams, as the weight of the tree snaps her tail
  195. > She reaches into the sky and clasps the pharaoh
  196. > Selket squeezes as the pharaoh cries out
  197. > The guard spear her in the head
  198. > the spear, penetrating the exoskeleton with a satisfying crack
  199. > Selket goes limp
  200. > The pharaoh escapes
  201. > Selket's body vanishes, presumably to the land of the gods
  202. > the Twilight has cast a spell
  203. > the other ponies form a ring of heka
  204. > The ring forms a vortex
  205. > Set has gained the upper hand on me
  206. > My shield is destroyed
  207. > I am left to the mercy of the gods
  208. > Set lunges, content to rip my heart out himself
  209. > As he nears me, a blast hits him
  210. > Ma'at has arrived
  211. > Embodying the Twilight, Ma'at duels with Set
  212. > Set swipes with animal fury
  213. > Ma'at dexterously rolls away, and stomps on the back of Set
  214. > Set bellows, but does not surrender
  215. > Set lashes with his teeth
  216. > Ma'at is bitten by the neck
  217. > Set does not let go
  218. > I tackle Set
  219. You are so content to fill me with doubt, but I can see in your eyes, you doubt yourself
  220. > Ma'at recovers, and lands another stomp on Set's head
  221. > Set's snout snaps as he is crushed under Ma'at
  222. > Ma'at delivers the final blow, a blast which condemns Set to the realm he once lived.
  223. > the Twilight faints, as do the other ponies
  224. > the pharaoh summons her chariot, and we carry the ponies back to the Twilight's house
  225. They must recover from the overflow of power received from the gods
  226. > "You did well, anon"
  227. you as well, pharaoh
  228. > "We shall see that they get their much needed rest"
  229. > It is evening
  230. > I yawn
  231. > "you need rest as well"
  232. I must ensure that the pharaoh is taken care of before I may rest
  233. > "I am very well taken care of, thank you"
  234. > The night sky joins me now
  235. > "Come anon, let us return home"
  236. Yes, that would be best
  237. > the night sky carries me home, seeing how exhausted I am
  238. I am sorry that we may not fornicate tonight...Luna
  239. > "I understand, you must rest. I would not expect any more from you"
  240. > she kisses me on the forehead
  241. > We enter bed, content that with Ma'at restored, the world will be safe
