- [APPEAL] https://epicmafia.com/report/186495
- There is no reason to discuss the 'benefit of the doubt' here, as there is ample evidence that I am playing to win.
- 1. On day 2 it is clear that I considered the math of the situation, and even pasted my notes in this report's comments.
- 2. It is clear that I was trying to gather reads on day 2, since I discussed the players' arguments and probed them with questions.
- 3. The critical part of this report is the claim that Peace slipped, by saying that a dead player may be paranoid, where the only role that Peace could be is paranoid. To make a read on this, context is always important. This statement was made around the time that Peace proclaimed that she always plays paranoid as mafia in all caps, and that she didn't care about the outcome of the game as she was an alt. As this was my first time playing with Peace, I believed that Peace was either obtusely trolling/sarcastic, or inexperienced with dethy.
- 4. I've played many dethy games with Infinity, and none with Peace. Because of that, I focused much more on Infinity's arguments, as I have a better idea of his village/mafia tendencies. Peace may well have been playing her first or second game of dethy, based off of her statements. I've played many, many dethy games with people new to the setup, and they make logical contradictions regarding their role all the time. In fact, a week or two ago I had a dethy game where I mistakenly stated that I was some cop roles that I absolutely could not have been throughout most of the day, as I made a mistake in logic. Is this in any way a slip similar to, say, innoing your cc in other setups? The thing is, it's very normal for people to be understanding when players mess up their role logic, as dethy is sometimes convoluted.
- 5. As for my final decision, Infinity played exactly how I would have played maf in that situation. When the math was on her side, she constantly patronized me on the probability. When I asked her to give a reason as to why her reports were towny, she dodged the question, as if she did not believe she was towny in a way other than probability.
- 6. After the game ended, I learned that Peace was in fact good at dethy and had played several times before. Since that was the case, it was VERY good play on Peace's part to act inexperienced/uninterested, as it forced me to focus on Infinity for reads. I commend Peace for tricking me and having me hammer against the math.
