Mom tips ex-convicts $250 because she's nuts

12:50 PM - Novajam: Except when she asked if I wanna come to her mom (my grandma's) house and see the renovations in progress to which I said no

12:51 PM - Novajam: fast forward to this morning
12:51 PM - Novajam: She asks me if I wanna know about the trash collectors
12:52 PM - Novajam: She hired a team to remove a load of old broken furniture and trash from the house (ie everything)
12:52 PM - Novajam: Like those 1800-got-junk guys on Hoarders
12:53 PM - Novajam: There were four guys and apparently three were former convicts
12:53 PM - Novajam: There was a greek man who was like the team leader
12:54 PM - Novajam: A Samoan who she thought was retarded
12:55 PM - Novajam: Mom said that if he still lived in Samoa he'd be "beating his own head with a rock"
12:55 PM - Novajam: And two other guys who were australian
12:56 PM - Novajam: She says she was quite concerned about them and was worried about her valuables
12:57 PM - Novajam: There were 5 matresses in the house, and to dump a matress at the tip is $30 per
12:57 PM - Novajam: So the waste companies normally charge you extra per matress
12:58 PM - Novajam: The greek dude says $80 per matress to mum and she says NO WAY I KNOW THE COST TO DUMP YOU'RE OVERCHARGING EITHER TAKE THE MATRESSES FOR $30 OR NOTHING AT ALL
12:59 PM - Novajam: So it's pretty much decided then that the trash guys aren't gonna be moving any matresses
1:00 PM - Novajam: They keep working and they're nearly done and the greek guy says he's still got room on the truck, how about $50 each matress
1:00 PM - Novajam: Mom thinks this is more reasonable
1:00 PM - Novajam: But the guy wants cash
1:00 PM - Novajam: So she goes down to the bank to take out another $250 and when she comes back
1:01 PM - Novajam: The dudes all have "bread knives" according to her
1:01 PM - Novajam: and they're chopping up the matresses and throwing them in the skip bins
1:02 PM - Novajam: And she sees all this
1:02 PM - Novajam: Because if it's in a skip bin chopped up, the tip won't charge you anything but if it's a whole matress no charge
1:02 PM - Novajam: and mom sees it
1:02 PM - Novajam: and she fucking pays them the $250 anyway
