  9. **Item #:** SCP-XXX
  10.
  11. **Object Class:** Safe
  12.
  13. **Special Containment Procedures:** SCP-XXX is to be stored in a locked container at Sector-█, and marked with a brightly-colored sticker to avoid being mistaken for medical device. SCP-XXX may only be accessed with Level-3 clearance or higher. Any subject utilizing SCP-XXX is to be demoted to D-Class (if not already) and to be placed in isolation until a psychological evaluation can be made.
  14.
  15. In case of an emergency, personnel with Level-5 authorization may request to have SCP-XXX used on them by a willing volunteer in order to relay important information to a successor. Afterwards, the volunteer is terminated to prevent information from falling into enemy hands.
  16.
  17. **Description:** SCP-XXX appears to be a Welch Allyn AED 20. When used as a Defibrillator, SCP-XXX will halt brain activity of any human that it is used on (hereby referred to as “the victim”), and transfer all of the victim’s memories, skills, and personality to the subject operating the device (hereby referred to as “the instigator”), leaving the victim with no brain function whatsoever. To an unaware observer, it appears that the instigator has simply failed to revive the victim, allowing an unscrupulous “helper” to aquire all the knowledge he or she wants.
  18.
  19. Theoretically, SCP-XXX can be used any number of times, but instigators generally suffer from a number of psychological conditions, ranging from acute Schizophrenia to Dissociative Identity Disorder. The hypothesis is that; while the original personality is initially dominant, the various personas begin to blend over time until the Instigator is unable to distinguish “himself” from any of the other absorbed personalities, leading to a slow mental breakdown.

  21. **Addendum:** Incident Zero
  22. Mobile Task Force Gamma-24 (aka “You Snooze, You Lose”) was first dispatched to ███████████ California in ██-██-2010, following a news story about a paramedic named ███████ ████ breaking into the house of a local widow, and claiming to be her recently deceased husband, Mr. ████████ ███████. While the Foundation would normally overlook such incidents, the sensational part of this story came from the fact that ████ had near-perfect memory of Mr. ███████’s life, including all of his passwords, his most intimate memories, his favorite novels, and [DATA EXPUNGED]. While this only further convinced the media that he was some sort of crazy stalker, the difficulty in acquiring such information acted as a tip-off to Foundation HQ.
  23.
  24. After interrogating the subject utilizing[REDACTED], the team eventually discovered that ████ had been using SCP-XXX as well as his position as a paramedic to get access to financial information of the recently deceased. This has allowed ████ to discreetly transfer the holdings of over ███ victims to his own personal account. While he began to notice his slowly deteriorating sanity, he had attributed it to guilt over his crimes rather than being a side-effect of SCP-XXX.
  25.
  26. ████ (now known as “Subject Zero”) is currently under observation at Sector-█, to examine the long-term effects of SCP-XXX. Subject Zero has been affectionately dubbed “Legion” by the local staff, though he does not respond positively to the name, nor does he identify himself as such.
