  1. The County of Ermagn was formed in 315, as a small area of land in a recently added part of Roggar; it started off with 10,000 Galvanni (local) people, some other humans and some goblins, it also had The ruins of Irlashag to the south, and an iron mine close by to the north. Soon afterwards a school was set up in Ermagn, allowing for a greater amount of the populace to become educated.
  2. 1,000 ogres then migrated to the city, and were swiftly put to work in the iron mine, this then caused a small bout of rioting from all of the goblin and ogre workers due to poor conditions, but it settled back down shortly afterwards.
  3. After some more time, a Guild of Halflings moved into the town to the south of the ruins of Irlashag, which was duly named Gardengrove by the guild, over the next 50 years they improved their farms and their special technique of golemancy, which was to make the golem into armor for a halfling to wear.
  4. During the first invasion by the Zhongi, both factions decided not to fight the amassed force of 100k+, and instead let them pass.
  5. The Guild decided to aid us in the renovation of Irlashag, supplying people and food; when the city was fully operational again, it was decided to be named Virinum, and to be jointly governed by the Guild and the Count of Ermagn.
  6. A short while after, succeeding some long talks, the Guild in control of Gardengrove decided to become a vassal to the Count of Ermagn, who would then become the Duke of Virinum.
  7. During the second civil war, the Duchy of Virinum was sided with the loyalists, sending thousands to fight on the front lines, because of this, when the Zhongi force numbering 120k marched in, it did not put up a fight, at the threat of total annihilation by the massive force.
  8. During the subsequent plague, the Duchy was prepared, and so had no deaths from it.
  9. In one very eventful decade, a port was built in Gardengrove, and a Grand Library was constructed in Virinum, allowing for storage of magical and lore-based knowledge.
  10. Ogres then migrated from all over Roggar and the New Ogre Haven, to the South of the Duchy, in the Great Swamp, who the Duke then decided to set up relations with.
  11. Some time later, 11 forts were built all throughout the Duchy, the help with defense.
  12. Next came the walls, which then played a very important role in the coming invasion from the south.
  13. This invasion was an army of over 200 thousand Zhongi soldiers, which was held of at first by the forces manning the Southern Wall of Roggar, for the first few pushes against the wall as well as the Swamp to the East, which was being defended by 100 thousand ogres, only one soldier educated enough to be a decent general was there, he was Lathlas of Virinum, grandson of the current duke. He held off for two pushes by the soldiers until more accomplished people came and took control.
  14. The wall was then lost, but most of our forces managed to make it to the newly constructed wall south of Gardengrove.
  15. The battle that then took place saw the first true show of might by the Knights of Juras, who took down an ice dragon by themselves.
  16. When that wall fell and our army was routed, the rest of the defenses in the Duchy fell with relative ease. Fortunately, a deal was worked out with the help of the Ogres to the south, that the Zhongi would not loot the City of Virinum in exchange for some of their scholars being allowed to study there.
  17. When the Roggarian forces mounted a counter-offensive, to take back land, Father mountain destroyed the main Zhongi force, but, when they were retreating, some of them set the Grand Library ablaze, destroying countless priceless works, and a huge amount of magical knowledge.
  18. The rebuilding of Virinum took around 12 years, due to the help of numerous other factions.
