  1. [Overview]
  2.
  3. Super fast (second fastest in NU)
  4. Good STAB allows it to revenge kill important Pokemon such as Swellow and Samurott
  5. Above average Special Attack complements good Speed
  6. Very frail, leaving it vulnerable to Choice Scarf users and even uninvested attacks
  7. Shallow movepool limits revenge killing potential
  8. Fails to do much to common defensive Pokemon such as Lickilicky and Regice
  9. Has a lot of competition from the similarly built Electabuzz and Zebstrika
  10.
  11. [SET]

  16. move 4: Signal Beam / Taunt

  21.
  22. [SET COMMENTS]
  23.
  24. Excellent Speed lets Electrode be a prominent revenge killer to frail, non-Choice Scarfed threats such as Charizard
  25. Thunderbolt is a reliable STAB, and can be used to maim frail Flying- and Water-types
  26. Volt Switch provides momentum, and can be used to get out of a tough situation, such as when facing an opponent that can OHKO Electrode before Electrode can OHKO it
  27. Hidden Power Grass hits Ground-types super effectively, OHKOing Seismitoad and 2HKOing Golurk and offensive Piloswine after Stealth Rock
  28. Signal Beam hits Grass-, Dark-, and Psychic-types for super effective damage, allowing Electrode to revenge kill Exeggutor and Shiftry alongside others with ease
  29. Taunt is a viable alternative, as it stops the likes of specially defensive Ludicolo from setting up on Electrode, as well as preventing support Pokemon such as Audino and Lickilicky from stalling it out. It also one of the few things Electrode has over other Electric-types such as Electabuzz and Zebstrika
  30.
  31. [ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
  32.
  33. A Modest nature can be used, although Electrode will then fail to outspeed positive natured Swellow
  34. Choice Specs can be used in place of Life Orb to have more of a damage output, although said output doesn't gain Electrode any specific KOs, and it would much rather have the freedom to switch moves, especially considering its main STAB does nothing to common Ground-type Pokemon
  35. Expert Belt can be used to bluff a choice set and catch Ground-types off guard, although Electrode desperately needs the power Life Orb provides to its attacks at all times
  36. Both of Electrode's abilities trigger when it is hit by a contact move; Static is generally more useful as it paralyses opponents, thus enabling it to support the team, while Aftermath is always going to occur, although its effect is not as game-changing
  37. Hidden Power Ice can be used over Hidden Power Grass to hit Roselia and Dragon-types, although the threats that Hidden Power Grass hits are much more significant
  38. Foul Play OHKOed Golurk, which could potentially be life saving, although its uses end there
  39. Entry hazard support is much appreciated as it enables Electrode to get important KOs, such as that on Golurk; Roselia is a good choice because it appreciates Flying-types being removed from play
  40. Misdreavus is a good teammate, as it is immune to Electrode's Ground-type weakness and can Heal Bell away paralysis that would otherwise nurture it useless
  41. Rotom-S and Electrode form a really good core, as Electrode lures in Ground-types for Rotom-S to switch into and defeat with Hidden Power Grass. The two can then spam Volt Switch with little to no worries
  42. Fighting-types such as Sawk and Primeape are awesome partners, as they can take out Pokemon that trouble Electrode, such as Audino and Lickilicky
  43.
  44. [Other Options]
  45.
  46. Rain Dance can be used, although it's outclassed by Prankster Pokemon such as Volbeat. Do note though, Thunder should always be used over Thunderbolt when Electrode is being used on a rain team.
  47. Magnet Rise allows Electrode to evade Ground-type attacks, although it has trouble finding a moveslot for it, as well as the time to set it up
  48. Electro Ball can replace Thunderbolt, as it deals more damage to slow Pokemon such as Lickilicky, although Electrode aims to hit faster Pokemon hard, making Thunderbolt the more reliable option
  49. Explosion can be used to go out with a bang, but because it's coming off of Electrode's terrible Attack stat, it won't be doing too much to anything with moderate bulk
  50. Electrode can opt to run a fast supportive set with Thunder Wave / Toxic, the aformentioned Taunt, Thunderbolt, and Hidden Power Ice, although its terrible bulk deters users from such a set
  51. Charge Beam can be used as it is Electrode's only way to set up, although it's weak and unreliable, making Thunderbolt the superior option
  52.
  53. [Checks and Counters]
  54.
  55. Bad bulk makes it easy to defeat; use anything with moderate special bulk that isn't weak to its STAB
  56. Paralyzing it will make it completely useless, Lickilicky can Body Slam while Regice can Thunder Wave, both can also take hits from it day and night
  57. Ground-types are immune to Electrode's STAB, and Camerupt doesn't take much from Hidden Power Ice either; they can also OHKO with any of their Ground-type STABs
  58. Dragon-types are also good answers, as most of them resist almost every move Electrode commonly runs, although they will have to watch out for Hidden Power Ice
  59. Bulky Electric-types such as Ampharos and Eelektross can easily take hits from Electrode, and the former can paralyze it, effectively crippling it, while the latter can 2HKO it with Flamethrower or Return, depending on which set it's running
  60. Again, basically anything with moderate bulk and an above average offensive presence can deal with Electrode
