  10. **Item #:** SCP-1830
  11.
  12. **Object Class:** Safe
  13.
  14. **Special Containment Procedures:**
  15. SCP-1830 is to be kept in its glass container (SCP-1830-01). Level 2 and above personnel may remove SCP-1830 for experimentation but will face disciplinary action if SCP-1830 is not securred afterwards.
  16.
  17. **Description:**
  18. SCP-1830 is a small (.45 meters) humanoid figure constructed out of brass, iron, and copper. It is self-aware but possess a single-minded attitude in regards to its mission (see below). It lacks any ability to vocalize its thoughts and requires a pad and pencil or other such items in order to communicate.
  19.
  20. SCP-1830's chest seems to be modeled on the human ribcage and contains gears that spin using an unknown power source. However, the gears do not seem to be connected to the rest of SCP-1830. When blocked or removed, SCP-1830 ceases function. When replaced and unblocked, SCP-1830 reactivates with no knowledge of the time between.
  21.
  22. Its mouth contains crude teeth that seem to serve no purpose. The top half of SCP-1830's head is gone. SCP-1830 is not aware of any damage so the assumption is that SCP-1830 was originally created in its current form. Despite the lack of any sensory apparatus, SCP-1830 only lacks the senses of taste and smell.
  23.
  24. SCP-1830-01 contains two parts: a bell-shaped glass top and a brass disc. When commanded, SCP-1830 will stand on the disc and hunch slightly, allowing the glass top to be placed over it. When inside, SCP-1830 enters a dormant state. Damage to either part reverses itself, returning to its original form. Unless a constant heat or pressure it exerted, it will simply undo any damage in the order it was inflicted.
  25.
  26. SCP-1830's stated (written) mission is/was to protect Lee Harvey Oswald. It does not know why it was given this mission or by whom. When it was first activated, it simply knew what it had to do. However, it obviously failed. SCP-1830 refuses to comment on this failure. It has spent the time since then in an attempt to create a method to travel through time, despite a lack of knowledge in physics or any field of science.
