Get_Lost discovers herself facing the same one as Major Tripwire and Noble_Heart. The wounded one faces off against Shatara, Bookwright, Major Bloodstreak and the Enclave patrol leader.

  23. [2016-12-21 13:31:36] <Shoat> 3CopyCat pulls off her helmet, letting her aquamarine mane cascade down her shoulders and neck. "Ahh, that did it!" She aims a Winning™ smile at the guards... then at the shaman. "Oh-kay!" She steps forward.
  24. [2016-12-21 13:31:42] <Shoat> 3The zebra shaman opens a bag and dips a hoof in it. When it withdraws it, his hoof is covered in a thick yellow oil. He reaches up and smears the oil across CopyCat's face.
  25. [2016-12-21 13:31:47] <Shoat> 3CopyCat begins to glow. The other zebras gasp. The shaman steps back, looking grim. "They are like the others," he says. "They are not of the Empress, nor of Her Shadow Pony ally. They are... displaced."

To cut off their ability to launch an excess of balefire weapons."

  42. [2016-12-21 13:36:54] <Shoat> 3Mitzi decides to try something a little more direct. She raises a claw and extends it to jab into the ground where Jugeote's false shadow was. Considerng the bullet didn't do anything, she wasn't expecting much.
  43. [2016-12-21 13:37:05] <Shoat> 3Jugeote collapses with a gargled scream even before Mitzi's claw touches the floor... the moment when the shadow from Mitzi's claw touches her shadow. By the time she hits the floor, she looks worn and malnurished, like she has suffered a wasting disease.
  44. [2016-12-21 13:37:10] <Shoat> 3Mitzi frowns and withdraws her claw, stepping back from everyone else to avoid further shadow on shadow contact. She grimaces as she sees the zebra's condition, but... she was alive. "Git hur tu doctur, now!" She barks.

  76. [2016-12-21 13:50:21] * Bookwright frowns. "I think we're down to legends now. Remember what Citrine Glow said, about the seraphs and their shadows? Well, /this/ is a frigging shadow and the thing out there is evidently made of fire."

But we don't know for sure what will happen if we get these two beings together. They might cancel each other out... or they might turn into a stronger whole."

  86. [2016-12-21 13:54:30] * Bookwright "If we don't do /something/ a lot more people are going to die. From the sound of it your soldiers aren't any closer to resolving this with gunfire than we are with poking it with sticks."
  87. [2016-12-21 13:55:16] * Golden_Dream sets the CRUX down with a meaty 'kchunk'. "Anyfolk got a suitable plan C?"
  88. [2016-12-21 13:55:21] * Get_Lost "bookie, do we still have seeds of the tree of life? if we give mitzi one, it should make everything safer"
  89. [2016-12-21 13:55:54] * Noble_Heart scowls. "We also know this thing is immune to conventional attacks. The dragons had artillery and walls and guns aplenty. And they did nothing to stop these creatures." She shook her head. "Do we still have the shadow? The legends also said they hunt their shadows, perhaps it is time this one found it."
  90. [2016-12-21 13:56:00] * Get_Lost "as in, the shadow should suck a lot of life energy, but there should still be plenty enough for mitzi to move on"
  91. [2016-12-21 13:56:35] * Mitzi looks to Wind Weaver. "Ur claws deednt hurt da shadow, but Uh have sumteen in da ship dat might wurk Eef Get's idea duznt wurk."

Not to mention the armaments on this city." He looks down the hall as his soldiers tense. "That doesn't sound like conventional pony weapons are doing much. But if we can lead it outside, turn the city guns on it..."

  95. [2016-12-21 13:59:32] <Shoat> 3Wind Weaver nods to what Get_Lost is saying. But Citrine Glow argues, "Dragons have killed seraphs, but it took dragon fire..." She looks to Get_Lost. "Magical energy works. You just need a LOT of it."
  96. [2016-12-21 14:00:16] <Pony_72689> Mitzi stands up, keeping her distance from other ponies but waiting for an indication of where to go. She looks to Wind Weaver. "Uh have a Thunder Cannon. Da Old Albino gave eet tu me."
  97. [2016-12-21 14:02:15] * Golden_Dream narrows her eyes. Waitaminute. "Shatara, load Blood with th' good shit. We wanna kill a pissed off light thing, we need t' fuck it up with an equally pissed-off dark thing."\

  100. [2016-12-21 14:10:32] * Shatara nods. "Right." He dramatically pumps the shotgun...dropping a loaded shell on the ground. Which he sheepishly picks up.
  101. [2016-12-21 14:16:12] * Golden_Dream frowns at Get. "Well. There's a reason why that there's plan A." She loads a bolt into the crossbow, and thumps the Mitzicrate twice. "RIGHT. IT'S COMING. TAKE COVER, MITZI, PREPARE TO ENGAGE IN VIGOROUS DOGGYHUGS."
  102. [2016-12-21 14:16:22] * Golden_Dream then takes her own advice.
  103. [2016-12-21 14:16:49] * Get_Lost smiles at goldie "you're the tactician, ok"
  104. [2016-12-21 14:16:51] <Shoat> 3"All right," Major Tripwire states. "*I'm* doing this. Everyone else move back. You..." he points to Bookwright, "Open that door. Mitzi: I'm coming in!"

  107. [2016-12-21 14:24:23] * Mitzi perks her ears towards the sounds of violence. She turns away from the voices of her companions and turns out the lights in the room for a moment, just listening to see if her sensative ears could pick up anything from the shadow.
  108. [2016-12-21 14:24:49] <Shoat> 3"Really? 'Hellhound sacrifices her life to save Lunar Rising; Enclave officer stands by and watches'? Not going to happen." Major Tripwire jabs a hoof in the direction of the energy weapons fire. "Now. We literally do not have all day."

  110. [2016-12-21 14:25:29] * Bookwright flings open the door. "Mitzi, the major has volunteered."
  111. [2016-12-21 14:26:27] * Get_Lost thinks for a moment, then nods "okay. this one is yours... see you on the other side"
  112. [2016-12-21 14:26:44] <Shoat> 3Major Tripwire turns to Get_Lost. "If you have any way of making this more survivable for the hellhound civilian, now's the time." He steps into the storage unit. "Mitzi, I'm here to confiscate your shadow."
  113. [2016-12-21 14:27:18] * Mitzi looks to the front of the crate and turns the light back on. "Yu sure?" She doesn't stop him from getting closer, though she glances to Get_Lost as she holds out a paw to hold the Major up a moment.
  114. [2016-12-21 14:28:19] * Get_Lost "yes: mitzi should eat one of the seeds we left and... well, i'd like you, major, to do that, too... it could make you a hero instead of a martyr...."
  115. [2016-12-21 14:28:42] <Shoat> 3Major Tripwire looks at Get_Lost and nods. "Okay then. Let's have them."
  116. [2016-12-21 14:29:03] * Noble_Heart scowls. "We do not like this. How many enclave officers remain? How many would you trust to run this facility?" She furrowed her brow at that, then shook her head.
  117. [2016-12-21 14:29:46] <Shoat> 3Mitzi feels a sense of rising panic that is not her own. But it is easy for her to ignore. Unlike Snowhare, she isn't driven to bolt.
  118. [2016-12-21 14:30:27] * Mitzi blinks and glances at the shadow. "Wait!" She calls out. "Uh felt sumteen. Eet wanted tu run... und da mare frum before did run." She frowns.
  119. [2016-12-21 14:31:50] <Shoat> 3"The city can survive without me." Major Tripwire glances back at Noble_Heart. "When we first met, I was trying to kill you and your friends. Back in Gaia Valley. Since then, you've saved me an my troops from Windigos, and replanted our city where we can at least try again to thrive. I owe you this."
  120. [2016-12-21 14:33:42] <Shoat> 3With a gruff scoff, he adds, "I'm an Enclave Loyalist. My life belongs to the Enclave. Not going to let a civilian do what I'm here to do." With a little laugh. "Not going to let a damned /hellhound/ become the city hero either. That's too much irony to live with."
  121. [2016-12-21 14:35:12] * Noble_Heart grins, maybe a little wickedly, "But it would prevent Sonica from arguing their lack of character or personage, We should think." She glances in the direction of the oncoming fire. "And it would seem that this particular shadow is most recalcitrant against coming close to the light. We should rather not risk it fleeing to another victim."
  122. [2016-12-21 14:35:38] * Get_Lost "uhm, major... i think you need to know a thing. whispers in his ear"

  124. [2016-12-21 14:39:42] <Shoat> 3Major Tripwire frowns. "Well, fuck." Then looks back then down at the seed. "Bottoms up."
  125. [2016-12-21 14:42:51] * Mitzi takes the seed and weighs it in her hand. "Eez dere a chance we might need dis later?"

  127. [2016-12-21 14:44:09] * Golden_Dream looks down the hall. "If y' keep thinkin' like that, we'll never use the damn thing. This is the one time we can. Consume."
  128. [2016-12-21 14:44:30] * Bookwright "Is there a chance it will save your furry hide right now? Gulp it down, Mitzi. We already unkilled two hundred baby dragons, destroyed the mother of balefire, and made the elements of harmony with them. It's not like they got wasted or anything."
  129. [2016-12-21 14:45:19] * Mitzi nods. "Alright." She swallows it in one go.
  130. [2016-12-21 14:45:40] * Get_Lost "use it and move on with the plan or there won't be anypony to save!"
  131. [2016-12-21 14:46:04] * Bookwright 's glasses fall off his nose, and he splutters in indignation for a few moments as he searches for them.
  132. [2016-12-21 14:46:52] <Shoat> 3Major Tripwire swallows his seed, then moves forward. His shadow touches Mitzi's shadow. Mitzi collapses.
  133. [2016-12-21 14:48:41] <Shoat> 3Major Tripwire turns, his voice a bit higher, a bit shaken. "Okay, everyone, stay back. I'm about to go give a minor sun... doggy hugs."
  134. [2016-12-21 14:49:17] * Mitzi groans as she hits the floor. "Uh need sumteen tu eat."
  135. [2016-12-21 14:50:13] * Noble_Heart stays well away from the Major. Watching him as he turns to go. "Good luck."
  136. [2016-12-21 14:50:47] * Golden_Dream coughs. "Um, no. How about this, we set up interference, distract it, then you come at it from behind. If it sees you comin' at it, it'll jus' vaporize you before you can pass the 'good news' along."
  137. [2016-12-21 14:51:52] * Get_Lost "the less it stays in the major, the more he has chances to survive. if you want to do something, goldi, just do it"
  138. [2016-12-21 14:51:57] <Shoat> 3Major Tripwire looks at Golden_Dream. "If you want to do that, I suggest you hurry." His voice sounds strained.
  139. [2016-12-21 14:52:52] * Golden_Dream nods, then sprints out of the hallway, carrying her crossbow. Careful, Goldy. Careful. You're dealing with a dragon slayer here. Take this easy.

I CAN TELL IT'S FOR YOU, BECAUSE IT STARTS OFF 'DEAR FUCKBALL'. COME AND GET IT, FRIEND." She made way for Tripwire. Come on. Take bait.
  164. [2016-12-21 15:20:01] * Golden_Dream then started yelling out things she heard yelled at her and Mwana back at the outlaw town of Zebras.

  166. [2016-12-21 15:22:18] <Shoat> 3The major flies past Get_Lost and Golden_Dream, careful not to cross their shadows. He almost gets to the seraph when he is seized by complete panic, turns, and tries to flee.

  168. [2016-12-21 15:24:17] <Shoat> 3The orb of fire -- burning without consuming -- darts forward with startling speed and engulfs the pony who is carrying the shadow -- the force that consumes without burning. There is an eruption of black and grey light.

  170. [2016-12-21 15:25:12] * Noble_Heart shields her eyes with her wing. This was definitely not going the way she would have liked, but perhaps it was the only way it could have gone.
  171. [2016-12-21 15:25:41] <Shoat> 3The ball of burning fire breaks apart... and coalesces into the form of a glowing pony, taking the vague shape of Major Tripwire.

  173. [2016-12-21 15:26:42] <Shoat> 3The pegasus of burning light turns toward the distraction, and flies at Golden_Dream and Get_Lost.

  175. [2016-12-21 15:28:26] * Get_Lost is not fast enough to avoid anything but a sitting duck, so she stares at whatever is coming at her and offers "bullies are the worst?"
  176. [2016-12-21 15:30:42] <Shoat> 3There is nothing left of the real Major Tripwire. But in combining with its shadow, the seraph has become a much lesser version of itself... albeit with the form and mirroring abilities of the pegasus E.L.R. officer.
