  3. Mute Anon II
  4.
  5. Part 01 - Through The Woods
  6.
  7. >You are mute Anon
  8. >You are not stupid
  9. >Many here used to assume you were slow
  10. >There was one in particular who didn't
  11. >One who never did
  12. >And you owe everything to her
  13.
  14. >You open your eyes in Fluttersh- ... your cottage
  15. >Those dreams you had from Discord's influence have been gone ever since that day
  16. >You shake the memories from your mind as you start your morning routine
  17. >Today was the day you had to take consensus of the bunnies
  18. >The animals weren't afraid of you
  19. >You were the Element of Kindness
  20. >You proceed out of the cottage and into the forest
  21. >It's peaceful out here
  22. >You and Fluttershy used to love taking walks out with the bunnies and other animals
  23. >It was such a calm atmosphere
  24. >The warmth of the sun, the fresh air, the fuzzy bunnies
  25. >Peace in its natural state
  26. >How you loved it
  27.
  28. >Things were vastly improving between you and the other elements
  29. >Princess Celestia had advised that all of you get together and just talk
  30. >It was supposed to help better your relationships
  31. >It kind of reminded you of rehab's back on earth except watered down
  32. >All of you were fast to forgive and get things back to normal
  33. >You started to feel less like a human and like one of them
  34. >You didn't mind, though
  35. >At least you didn't get talked to like a child, animal, or idiot anymore
  36.
  37. >Hours had passed since you finished counting the bunnies
  38. >There were a few more of them since last time
  39. >It's better than losing some, you think
  40. >With nothing else on your to-do list, you decide to take a stroll through the forest
  41. >Every once and a while, you come across those timberwolves that chased you when you first arrived in Equestria
  42. >They don't give you any shit nowadays
  43. >They're actually rather nice once you get to know 'em
  44. >As a matter of fact, this particular area of the forest seems rather familiar
  45. >Off to your left, you see an old fallen tree bearing noticable dents at its base
  46. >You smile with the nostalgic memories
  47. >You remember being chased right up that very tree 4 years ago by those timberwolves
  48. >They took down the tree by ramming their heads against it
  49. >You remember waiting for the timberwolves to finish you off when she saved you
  50. Fluttershy...
  51. >You gasp and snap a hand to your mouth
  52. >This has been happening for a while now
  53. >Despite being a mute, sometimes you managed a word or two
  54. >You hope that one day you'll be able to talk, but for now...
  55.
  56. >You hear a howl in the distance, beyond the fallen tree
  57. >Those grumpy old wolves never venture anywhere else in the forest, do they?
  58. >With a smirk you set off to find them, maybe ask what they've been up to
  59. >You can't really talk wolf, but ever since you became the Element of Kindness...
  60. >It's strange, but you know what the animals are thinking
  61. >Just like she did
  62. >Another howl fills the air
  63. >Okay, just what are they up to?
  64. >With a curious look, you walk deeper into the trees
  65. >The canopy grows thick the further you walk and soon, a light fog surrounds you
  66. >You've been here countless times
  67. >The forest doesn't frighten you any more than the bunnies do
  68. >And you love the bunnies, man
  69. >You speed up as a few inquiries well up in your mind
  70. >What if one of my animals is in trouble?
  71. >You don't know how many times you have to tell them to stop bullying the animals
  72. >You push through the thick brush as you dart through the forest
  73. >They're definitely gonna get a stern talki-
  74. >You freeze where you stand
  75. >The timberwolves sense your presence and cease their actions, alpha turning to face you
  76. >Before them, backed up against a large rock is... another... human!?
  77. >Your jaw hangs open as your eyes scan over him
  78.
  79. >Am I really seeing this?
  80. >I must've inhaled some pheromones on the walk over here or something...
  81.
  82. >You look closer - you know him... from years ago...
  83.
  84. >"A-Anon!? Anon is that you!?" he collapses to his knees, tears welling up in his eyes
  85. >"It worked! It worked!" he yells with joy at the canopy, tears slowly rolling down his cheek
  86.
  87. >It takes less than an hour to bring Mous to Flutte- ... your cottage
  88. >You sit in front of Mous and sign: This is where I've been living the past 4 years
  89. >Mous signs to you: I'm speechless, man
  90. >You laugh
  91. >Speechless. What an ass.
  92. >Mous always used to sign with you in casual conversation
  93. >He'd only really speak to you if other people were around or if it was urgent
  94.
  95. >You smile then sign: There's a lot I need to tell you. I think it's best to write it down.
  96. >"That'd be fine, man. It's really settling to see you're okay." says Mous contently
  97. >"You wouldn't believe the shit I had to go through to figure out how to get to you."
  98. >Your smile fades as you sign: You wouldn't believe the shit I had to go through
  99. >Mous pats your shoulder then signs: Knowing you, it's nothing you couldn't have handled, right?
  100. >You nod. It's been a long time since you've seen Mous
  101.
  102. >You think a minute then sign: Shit, there's so much I need to do now that you're here. We have to talk to Twilight, see the Princess...
  103. >You were signing as you got up and started rummaging through a few things
  104. >Mous gets a curious look watching you run around
  105. >You sigh as you close a drawer and pick up a notepad and pencil off of a nearby desk
  106. >You sit at the table in the dining room and start writing
  107. >Only ten seconds or so pass before Mous taps your shoulder
  108. >You turn to him a sign: I'm writing down as much as I can think of that you might need to know. Help yourself to the shower upstairs to the right. This could take a while.
  109. >Mous nods as he starts digging through his backpack
  110.
  111. >It's around dinner time when you finish writing
  112. >36 pages
  113. >36 fucking pages
  114. >He better read ever single word of it
  115. >Mous enters the dining room and sits across from you, eying the mass of pages
  116. >Mous signs: Sweet fuck do I have to read all of that?
  117. >You sign: Every. Single. Word.
  118. >Mous signs: That's a bit much isn't it?
  119. >You sign: It's not easy to sum up 4 years of experience in a new world
  120. >Mous sighs as you hand him the stack of pages
  121. >Mous signs: I'll read it after dinner tonight, okay?
  122. >You sign: All of it?
  123. >He sighs then signs: All of it
  124. >You smile as you get up to prepare dinner and feed the animals
  125.
  126. >Dinner was your favorite - smoked salmon
  127. >You loved that stuff
  128. >After dinner, you tell Mous your plans for tomorrow
  129. >Mous started reading during dinner
  130. >He gave reactions as if it were the most absurd thing he's ever read
  131. >But before the evening fell late, he finished all 36 pages
  132. >You sign: Damn you done already?
  133. >Mous shrugs and signs: It hooked me at "this place is nothing like Earth"
  134. >You sign: Any questions?
  135. >Mous signs: Dear god where to begin?
  136. >You laugh and sign: How about the beginning?
  137. >Mous signs: Okay, but it'd be easier for me talk it out if that's all right.
  138. >You nod
  139.
  140. >You never knew one man could ask so many fucking questions
  141. >You knew he'd probably have a few, but this was ridiculous
  142. >"So you mean to tell me that there's only ONE natural force here? And it's magic?" laughs Mous hysterically
  143. >You sign: You think I found that easy to believe? Man, you really need to talk to Twilight about these physics questions.
  144. >"Speaking of which, you say that this world's dominant species is a bunch of half-sized, multicolored, magical horses?"
  145. >You sign: They prefer the term "ponies"
  146. >Mous laughs so hard, tears form
  147. >You sign: Not kidding. They get pretty offended if you refer to them as horses. You're lucky though.
  148. >Mous catches his breath "Oh? And why's that?"
  149. >You sign: You can talk. They'll treat you with much more respect than they did me.
  150. >Mous punches you lightly in the shoulder
  151. >"Hey man, I don't know what happened to you over the past few years, but we're here for each other now."
  152. >You look at Mous, he's acting more confident than he usually did back on earth
  153. >You wonder how long that would last
  154. >"You say they didn't respect you because you couldn't talk? Well I can and I'll make damn sure they understand that we are both human beings. Intelligent, respectable human beings." he smiles
  155. >You smile and sign: Whatever. We'll see how you fare when you meet them all tomorrow morning.
  156. >Mous shrugs his shoulders
  157.
  158. >You plan out the long day ahead of you tomorrow as Mous heads upstairs to sleep
  159. >You remember the travel here being tiring as hell
  160. >You told him to get some rest since you'll be mobile all day tomorrow
  161. >When Mous is asleep, you leave the cottage and make a trip to Twilight's place
  162. >She had to notify the Princess about this
  163.
  164. >You knock on her door
  165. >It's Spike, he looks pretty tired
  166. >"Oh Anon, it's you. I'm guessing you need to see Twilight?" yawns Spike
  167. >Before you could respond, you hear Twilight somewhere inside
  168. >"Spike, who's at the door?"
  169. >"It's Anon!" he yells backs
  170. >"Anon? Let him in!" she says as you here approaching clops from inside
  171. >Spike moves aside as you enter the library-house-whatever
  172. >You've been good to remember to bring a notepad and pencil everywhere you go these days
  173. >Makes things crazy easy when you can actually communicate
  174. >"Anon, what are you here for? Do you need help on something?" asks Twilight
  175. >You pull out the notepad and write: Something like that. I'm gonna have to ask you not to freak out on me.
  176. >"Freak out? What happened? Is it bad?" she asks with concern in her voice
  177. >You write: Let's just say that I only account for half the humans in Equestria now
  178. >Twilight reads, obviously not absorbing what you wrote at first
  179. >But then it hits her
  180. >Her jaw hangs loose
  181.
  182. >"Y-y-y-y-you mean that there's another human!? Here!? Th-this is big, Anon! Huge! I must tell the Princess right away!" Twilight stammers
  183. >Damn she's getting worked up fast
  184. >You write: Don't make it out to be such a big deal. I knew him personally back on earth... he's a nice guy. He can talk too.
  185. >"He talks!? Oh dear Celesti-" you cut her off by putting a hand over her mouth
  186. >You write: Calm down, it's not the end of the world
  187. >Twilight takes in a slow, deep breath and exhales even slower
  188. >"What did you have planned, Anon?" Twilight asks, at least six levels calmer
  189. >You write: It's definitely a good idea to notify Princess Celestia. I was hoping tomorrow we could give him a tour and get everyone acquainted with him.
  190. >Twilight nods in agreement "The Princess is definitely going to want to see him..."
  191. >She thinks for a minute before a smile appears on her face "You said he can talk?"
  192. >You nod and write: Yeah he talks. He has thousands of questions about physics and magic and junk. I told him it was more your department so be ready for that.
  193. >Twilight laughs "Okay, I tell the others and write a letter to the Princess. Thanks for telling me." she says as she levitates a piece of parchment and a quail to her
  194. >You write: Sounds good, I'll bring him straight here tomorrow morning, say around 8?
  195. >She nods as she "writes"
  196. >You write: Then it's settled. See ya tomorrow, Twi.
  197. >You hear the sound of Spike burning the letter as you leave the library-house-hybrid
  198. >You think to yourself on the way home
  199.
  200. >It's just like how she treated me when I first got here
  201. >I appeared in the same forest, was attacked by the same timberwolves, and saved in the same manner
  202. >You snicker under your breath, a smile crossing your face...
  203. >... a tear rolling down your cheek...
