- Mute Anon II
- Part 01 - Through The Woods
- >You are mute Anon
- >You are not stupid
- >Many here used to assume you were slow
- >There was one in particular who didn't
- >One who never did
- >And you owe everything to her
- >You open your eyes in Fluttersh- ... your cottage
- >Those dreams you had from Discord's influence have been gone ever since that day
- >You shake the memories from your mind as you start your morning routine
- >Today was the day you had to take consensus of the bunnies
- >The animals weren't afraid of you
- >You were the Element of Kindness
- >You proceed out of the cottage and into the forest
- >It's peaceful out here
- >You and Fluttershy used to love taking walks out with the bunnies and other animals
- >It was such a calm atmosphere
- >The warmth of the sun, the fresh air, the fuzzy bunnies
- >Peace in its natural state
- >How you loved it
- >Things were vastly improving between you and the other elements
- >Princess Celestia had advised that all of you get together and just talk
- >It was supposed to help better your relationships
- >It kind of reminded you of rehab's back on earth except watered down
- >All of you were fast to forgive and get things back to normal
- >You started to feel less like a human and like one of them
- >You didn't mind, though
- >At least you didn't get talked to like a child, animal, or idiot anymore
- >Hours had passed since you finished counting the bunnies
- >There were a few more of them since last time
- >It's better than losing some, you think
- >With nothing else on your to-do list, you decide to take a stroll through the forest
- >Every once and a while, you come across those timberwolves that chased you when you first arrived in Equestria
- >They don't give you any shit nowadays
- >They're actually rather nice once you get to know 'em
- >As a matter of fact, this particular area of the forest seems rather familiar
- >Off to your left, you see an old fallen tree bearing noticable dents at its base
- >You smile with the nostalgic memories
- >You remember being chased right up that very tree 4 years ago by those timberwolves
- >They took down the tree by ramming their heads against it
- >You remember waiting for the timberwolves to finish you off when she saved you
- Fluttershy...
- >You gasp and snap a hand to your mouth
- >This has been happening for a while now
- >Despite being a mute, sometimes you managed a word or two
- >You hope that one day you'll be able to talk, but for now...
- >You hear a howl in the distance, beyond the fallen tree
- >Those grumpy old wolves never venture anywhere else in the forest, do they?
- >With a smirk you set off to find them, maybe ask what they've been up to
- >You can't really talk wolf, but ever since you became the Element of Kindness...
- >It's strange, but you know what the animals are thinking
- >Just like she did
- >Another howl fills the air
- >Okay, just what are they up to?
- >With a curious look, you walk deeper into the trees
- >The canopy grows thick the further you walk and soon, a light fog surrounds you
- >You've been here countless times
- >The forest doesn't frighten you any more than the bunnies do
- >And you love the bunnies, man
- >You speed up as a few inquiries well up in your mind
- >What if one of my animals is in trouble?
- >You don't know how many times you have to tell them to stop bullying the animals
- >You push through the thick brush as you dart through the forest
- >They're definitely gonna get a stern talki-
- >You freeze where you stand
- >The timberwolves sense your presence and cease their actions, alpha turning to face you
- >Before them, backed up against a large rock is... another... human!?
- >Your jaw hangs open as your eyes scan over him
- >Am I really seeing this?
- >I must've inhaled some pheromones on the walk over here or something...
- >You look closer - you know him... from years ago...
- >"A-Anon!? Anon is that you!?" he collapses to his knees, tears welling up in his eyes
- >"It worked! It worked!" he yells with joy at the canopy, tears slowly rolling down his cheek
- >It takes less than an hour to bring Mous to Flutte- ... your cottage
- >You sit in front of Mous and sign: This is where I've been living the past 4 years
- >Mous signs to you: I'm speechless, man
- >You laugh
- >Speechless. What an ass.
- >Mous always used to sign with you in casual conversation
- >He'd only really speak to you if other people were around or if it was urgent
- >You smile then sign: There's a lot I need to tell you. I think it's best to write it down.
- >"That'd be fine, man. It's really settling to see you're okay." says Mous contently
- >"You wouldn't believe the shit I had to go through to figure out how to get to you."
- >Your smile fades as you sign: You wouldn't believe the shit I had to go through
- >Mous pats your shoulder then signs: Knowing you, it's nothing you couldn't have handled, right?
- >You nod. It's been a long time since you've seen Mous
- >You think a minute then sign: Shit, there's so much I need to do now that you're here. We have to talk to Twilight, see the Princess...
- >You were signing as you got up and started rummaging through a few things
- >Mous gets a curious look watching you run around
- >You sigh as you close a drawer and pick up a notepad and pencil off of a nearby desk
- >You sit at the table in the dining room and start writing
- >Only ten seconds or so pass before Mous taps your shoulder
- >You turn to him a sign: I'm writing down as much as I can think of that you might need to know. Help yourself to the shower upstairs to the right. This could take a while.
- >Mous nods as he starts digging through his backpack
- >It's around dinner time when you finish writing
- >36 pages
- >36 fucking pages
- >He better read ever single word of it
- >Mous enters the dining room and sits across from you, eying the mass of pages
- >Mous signs: Sweet fuck do I have to read all of that?
- >You sign: Every. Single. Word.
- >Mous signs: That's a bit much isn't it?
- >You sign: It's not easy to sum up 4 years of experience in a new world
- >Mous sighs as you hand him the stack of pages
- >Mous signs: I'll read it after dinner tonight, okay?
- >You sign: All of it?
- >He sighs then signs: All of it
- >You smile as you get up to prepare dinner and feed the animals
- >Dinner was your favorite - smoked salmon
- >You loved that stuff
- >After dinner, you tell Mous your plans for tomorrow
- >Mous started reading during dinner
- >He gave reactions as if it were the most absurd thing he's ever read
- >But before the evening fell late, he finished all 36 pages
- >You sign: Damn you done already?
- >Mous shrugs and signs: It hooked me at "this place is nothing like Earth"
- >You sign: Any questions?
- >Mous signs: Dear god where to begin?
- >You laugh and sign: How about the beginning?
- >Mous signs: Okay, but it'd be easier for me talk it out if that's all right.
- >You nod
- >You never knew one man could ask so many fucking questions
- >You knew he'd probably have a few, but this was ridiculous
- >"So you mean to tell me that there's only ONE natural force here? And it's magic?" laughs Mous hysterically
- >You sign: You think I found that easy to believe? Man, you really need to talk to Twilight about these physics questions.
- >"Speaking of which, you say that this world's dominant species is a bunch of half-sized, multicolored, magical horses?"
- >You sign: They prefer the term "ponies"
- >Mous laughs so hard, tears form
- >You sign: Not kidding. They get pretty offended if you refer to them as horses. You're lucky though.
- >Mous catches his breath "Oh? And why's that?"
- >You sign: You can talk. They'll treat you with much more respect than they did me.
- >Mous punches you lightly in the shoulder
- >"Hey man, I don't know what happened to you over the past few years, but we're here for each other now."
- >You look at Mous, he's acting more confident than he usually did back on earth
- >You wonder how long that would last
- >"You say they didn't respect you because you couldn't talk? Well I can and I'll make damn sure they understand that we are both human beings. Intelligent, respectable human beings." he smiles
- >You smile and sign: Whatever. We'll see how you fare when you meet them all tomorrow morning.
- >Mous shrugs his shoulders
- >You plan out the long day ahead of you tomorrow as Mous heads upstairs to sleep
- >You remember the travel here being tiring as hell
- >You told him to get some rest since you'll be mobile all day tomorrow
- >When Mous is asleep, you leave the cottage and make a trip to Twilight's place
- >She had to notify the Princess about this
- >You knock on her door
- >It's Spike, he looks pretty tired
- >"Oh Anon, it's you. I'm guessing you need to see Twilight?" yawns Spike
- >Before you could respond, you hear Twilight somewhere inside
- >"Spike, who's at the door?"
- >"It's Anon!" he yells backs
- >"Anon? Let him in!" she says as you here approaching clops from inside
- >Spike moves aside as you enter the library-house-whatever
- >You've been good to remember to bring a notepad and pencil everywhere you go these days
- >Makes things crazy easy when you can actually communicate
- >"Anon, what are you here for? Do you need help on something?" asks Twilight
- >You pull out the notepad and write: Something like that. I'm gonna have to ask you not to freak out on me.
- >"Freak out? What happened? Is it bad?" she asks with concern in her voice
- >You write: Let's just say that I only account for half the humans in Equestria now
- >Twilight reads, obviously not absorbing what you wrote at first
- >But then it hits her
- >Her jaw hangs loose
- >"Y-y-y-y-you mean that there's another human!? Here!? Th-this is big, Anon! Huge! I must tell the Princess right away!" Twilight stammers
- >Damn she's getting worked up fast
- >You write: Don't make it out to be such a big deal. I knew him personally back on earth... he's a nice guy. He can talk too.
- >"He talks!? Oh dear Celesti-" you cut her off by putting a hand over her mouth
- >You write: Calm down, it's not the end of the world
- >Twilight takes in a slow, deep breath and exhales even slower
- >"What did you have planned, Anon?" Twilight asks, at least six levels calmer
- >You write: It's definitely a good idea to notify Princess Celestia. I was hoping tomorrow we could give him a tour and get everyone acquainted with him.
- >Twilight nods in agreement "The Princess is definitely going to want to see him..."
- >She thinks for a minute before a smile appears on her face "You said he can talk?"
- >You nod and write: Yeah he talks. He has thousands of questions about physics and magic and junk. I told him it was more your department so be ready for that.
- >Twilight laughs "Okay, I tell the others and write a letter to the Princess. Thanks for telling me." she says as she levitates a piece of parchment and a quail to her
- >You write: Sounds good, I'll bring him straight here tomorrow morning, say around 8?
- >She nods as she "writes"
- >You write: Then it's settled. See ya tomorrow, Twi.
- >You hear the sound of Spike burning the letter as you leave the library-house-hybrid
- >You think to yourself on the way home
- >It's just like how she treated me when I first got here
- >I appeared in the same forest, was attacked by the same timberwolves, and saved in the same manner
- >You snicker under your breath, a smile crossing your face...
- >... a tear rolling down your cheek...
