The biggest river of Estonia flows through Tartu. Tartus' most important historical building is the university of Tartu, which was established in 1637. The tartu peace treaty was signed in Tartu and also the first sing festival was held in Tartu. The theatre of vanemuine, which was built in 1870, is stationed in Tartu and it has a great historical value. The first play that was done in Vanemuine, was conducted by Lydia Koidula.
