HAB Launch Day Checklist

Balloon Launch Day Checklist

•	Initial Setup
•	Take out supplies (tools, balloon items, etc)
•	Layout and stake tarp
•	Roll out He tank
•	Attach regulator to He tank

•	Set up Payload (While Initial Setup is taking place)
•	Check all power, connection cables & scientific devices (batteries, ardunio, sensors)
•	Check GoPro settings (focus @ infinity, high resolution, no flash, empty SD)
•	Check camera to make sure it is recording
•	Check radio (make sure its on, sending out a signal, antenna attached)
•	Check Pocketfinder (make sure its on, finds location, charge)
•	Place handwarmer in but do not activate
•	Check parachute
•	Mass Payload & parachute
•	TURN BACK OFF ALL DEVICES!

•	Fill Balloon (PUT ON GLOVES!!!!!!)
•	Clean filling tube end with isopropyl alcohol
•	Blow out fill tube with He
•	PUT ON GLOVES!!!!!!
•	Attach filling device to balloon using zip ties & duct tape
•	Attach calibrated weight to filling device
•	Fill balloon with He until starts to float
•	Tie off balloon above the fill tube
•	Attach rope with 25 lb weight to tie off
•	Fold balloon stem over and duct tape

•	Securing Payload to balloon
•	Lay out lift train (rope, parachute, payload)
•	Untwist lift train rope
•	Attach lift train to balloon

•	Power Up
•	Power Up all devices
•	Put in hand warmers
•	Start camera, scientific, & tracking devices, CHECK ONE LAST TIME!!!!
•	SEAL PAYLOAD OFF WITH DUCT TAPE

•	Check rigging for tangles, check payload attachment
•	LIFT OFF!!!!!!
