What skills or characteristics do you need for that job?

Suggest important characteristics for a good teacher on the board. Draw in a mind map or cluster.
Now do the same thing with a job of your choice (but not what you already do or plan to do).

Why are these characteristics important for teachers?
What about your jobs? Add details for some of the characteristics in your cluster and decide if you can eliminate or combine any of the others.

	A: speak well - fluently, clearly
		students need to understand you

		need to understand students
		be patient with them
	C: open-minded
		need to understand different cultures, backgrounds, etc.
conclusion sentence: In short, a good teacher must speak well, listen well, and be open-minded.
